Good morning friends, come on in out of the cold.
It is Monday morning, and the start to a new fresh week ahead. It is also St. Patrick's Day, not that I've ever been a huge fan or celebrate it every year, but once in a while I do enjoy making some Irish goodies, so today we will be having a delicious Shepherd's Pie and there will be an Irish Soda Bread made. For sure!
I do have a recipe on my food blog, if you want to make one for yourself. I wish you all a very blessed week ahead. I'm sorry I didn't get to visit your posts last week, but I will be doing today.
Now, let's get on with our Happy Homemaker Monday!
The weather in my neck of the woods:::
The winds have been absolutely insane. Last week, we actually a windy day that produced a very Mars like atmosphere. It kind of reminded me of Arizona and the dust storms we would get. The sky turned orange, everything looked so apocalyptic, it was just crazy. Unfortunately the winds make the allergies kick up, and we've all been struggling. There is more wind on the way this week, and I'm not thrilled about that, but hey ho, we'll deal right?
Monday - Sunny and windy, 87
Tuesday - Partly cloudy and windy, 89
Wednesday - Partly cloudy and windy, 57
Thursday - Sunny, 66
Friday - Mostly sunny and windy, 79
Saturday - Mostly sunny, 82
Sunday - Partly cloudy, 76
As I look outside my window:::
I'm typing up this post pretty early in the morning, it is just 7:01 am, and it's still super dark outside, so I can't see anything.

Right now I am:::
Sitting in bed and working on this post, while watching a video on YouTube on the telly. I'll share the channel below, I just recently found it and have been enjoying it.
Something fun to share (a blog, a video, a tip):::
I recently came across a channel by a very sweet girl named Bonnie Barton. I just love watching her, she is very much like me in the sense of the things she likes, colors, themes, books and so forth.
Thinking and pondering:::
I have found that this week I stepped away from social media, I was able to reconnect and reground myself. Sometimes it's good to step back and put your thoughts together, figure out what you want, what you don't want and make some changes here and there.

That is what I did. The older I get the more I realize that I have zero patience for certain things. I've never been one to follow the crowds, but as the years go by, I get even more selective in who I let into my life, who I allow around me and even the books that I read. Example.....my younger self would love a romance book with smut, or naughty writing. Today, I can't stand it, I find it gross, and I associate it with porn. Honestly! My mind has just changed over the years and especially as I have gotten closer to God.
On my bedside table:::
My book, a vase of pretty spring flowers, kleenex, my water bottle and tv remote.
On my tv:::
Last night's When Calls the Heart
Homemaking vlogs
Book vlogs
SIC Portuguese channel
Listening to:::
Television in the background.
My two roosters crowing outside.
Kaia snoring next to me.
On the menu for this week:::
Monday - Shepherd's Pie, Irish Soda Bread
Tuesday - Teriyaki Steak, Rice, Egg Rolls
Wednesday - Shrimp Pesto Pasta, Greek Salad
Thursday - Bifanas (Portuguese Pork Sandwiches), Fries
Friday - Chicken Korma, Rice, Naan
Saturday - Leftovers, Fend for yourself
Saturday - Leftovers, Fend for yourself
Sunday - Spaghetti, Italian Focaccia, Salad
On my to do list:::
Change Bed linens
Water plants
Daily Bible reading and daily decree
Crochet
Carpet Clean
What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Been loving working on the Cosmic CAL. I am on Part 6, and there are 9 parts in total. So, not quite there yet, but getting close.

My simple pleasure:::
Watching my live Portuguese TV. I have a small tv in my kitchen and when I'm in there, cleaning, doing dishes or cooking, it is set to the live channel from Portugal. It reminds of my childhood. We always had a little tv with the Portuguese tv playing. Just love it ♥
Looking around the house:::
I need to carpet clean both the living room and the den/dining room area. We had rain a few days ago and with the constant in and out, it tends to leave some spots.
From the camera:::
I'm very much looking forward to Spring and warm days, but I must say that walking by this corner every morning, and seeing how cozy it looks, it also brings to mind that even Winter has it's own charm.

Bible verse, Devotional:::
...those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.- Romans 8:14

You just reminded me of two things with your menu plan - 1. I have some pesto I purchased from Trader Joe's I need to either use this week or freeze (not on the menu!) and 2 - I have some Tikka Masala sauce. Yum! Might need to make some changes to the plan! lol
I'm not on social media as much anymore. Especially Facebook. I have 2 Instagram channels. I notice the one I've had for a really long time is full of stuff I don't want to look at. Last year I started a new one, Wellversedwomen - and only follow people who do Bible study, Bible journaling, Christian writers, etc. THAT one is peaceful and all the ads I get are for those types of things! I spend the most time there. Have a blessed week, my friend!
We have had some storms and wind where I live lately too. We are at the tail end of winter and I am looking forward to spring but I will miss the quiet of winter. It’s so busy and noisy when the weather is nice and I feel like we always have to do something in it. I’ve been backing off social media more and more and it’s been nice to not have constant noise in my head from it all. Have a great week!
I'm so glad you took the time away you need dear Friend. I always love seeing your lovely crochet projects! Blessings to you always. xo
Good Morning. I so agree about zero patience for certain things! I've also been social media absent from many platforms - the new algorithms and AI are so slanted that I just don't have the patience to deal with them. I love Bonnie's site! Have a wonderful week.
Happy Saint Patrick's Day! Your crochet projects look so pretty. And yes, that picture is a very cozy corner. Hope you have a wonderful week!
Everything sounds so cozy! I got into BookTube videos about a year and a half ago and yes, so inspiring! I even started my own channel! I'm linking up today after not having done so in years. I missed my blog --- another form of cozy creativity for me, so I'm back! Have a great week friend!
Sarah
I love the charm of the winter coziness... as long as you don't have to go out in the freezing cold. I'm off to look at the video about cozy hobbies. Thanks. Have a good week
What a nice blog this is again!
Yes, we are also longing for spring and it seems that it will continue this week (I hope).
Have a nice week.
