Happy Homemaker Monday - 06/23/2025

Good morning everyone.  How was your weekend?

For the first time in months, we actually had a very laid back, relaxed weekend, which is just what the doctor ordered.  I hope yours was just as calm and relaxed as mine.

I have been busy organizing the past week, just tidying up the bedroom, shelves, living room and dining room and so on.  Slowly, methodically, not rushing and not causing a huge mess that no doubt will overwhelm me and make me want to leave it all as is.  Been there, done that, and it's never a good way to go about it.  Hoping to do a little more sorting this week, but Curt has a few medical appointments with the VA and he wants me to go with him, so I'll be driving around for most of the week.

Anyway, I hope you have a blessed week, thank you again for joining in with our Happy Homemaker Monday, and let's get right on with it.

The weather:::
We are in summer, and that means the humidity is raging along with temps in the high 90s, and I am already over it all.  I used to love summer when I was young, but now, I detest it and just want to get through it as quick as possible so Fall comes around with the cooler temps.

As I look outside my window:::
The sun is shining through the clouds, and there is a slight breeze which is making the tree branches look like they're dancing.

Right now I am:::
Sitting in bed.  I am listening to a book tuber on YouTube and also talking to my husband who is getting ready to go to an appointment for his hearing.

Something fun to share (a blog, a video, a tip):::
Here's another graphic with another 3 simple recipes for you.  I love having these on hand.

Thinking and pondering:::
Oh boy, so much on my mind.  There's a lot going on for us at the moment, so my mind has been concentrating on all of that.

But on the fun side, I am once again getting books to review here on the blog, so have been trying to sort that out, along with some personal reading challenges I am wanting to do for July and August.

On my bedside table:::
At the moment, my water bottle, my current book and my phone.

On my tv:::
A lot of UK Homemaking vlogs
A lot of Book vlogs

Listening to:::
A book tuber doing her TBR for the month of July.  I always enjoy watching these, I sometimes find really good books to read.  I do tend to follow only channels that align with the books I love to read myself, it's pointless for me to follow certain so called big accounts, when all they read is the genres that I do not enjoy.

On the menu for this week:::

Monday - Honey Garlic Ground Beef with Broccoli, Rice
Tuesday - Mediterranean Chicken with Veggies, Black eyed pea salad
Wednesday - Cottage Pie, Couscous Salad
Thursday -  Chicken Paprikash, Egg Noodles, Green Beans
Friday -  Pizza
Saturday - Italian Sausage and peppers, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli
Sunday - Portuguese Chicken and rice, salad

On my to do list:::
Change Bed linens
Water plants
Daily Bible reading and daily decree
Daily 10k steps
Pay bills

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Juicy Fruits and Whipped Creme crochet throw from Yarnspirations.

My simple pleasure:::
I have become completely obsessed with 3D puzzles.  I find them so relaxing, and love getting lost in the process.  Curt recently bought me some stunning ones, and I have already put 3 together, 2 flowers and a Booknook Garden House, which I am in love with.  (I will come back and add the photos shortly)

Looking around the house:::
I gave it a good cleaning yesterday so everything is clean, neat and tidy.  Love starting the week with a clean home.

From the camera:::
My peppers are coming in strong and I'm here for it.  I eat so many peppers, they're one of my favorite vegetables, so to be able to grow them myself is amazing.

Bible verse, Devotional:::
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." - Matthew 5:3

Agreed that FAll is the best and I work hard to embrace summer - the good parts. Lol Being in the lake, flowers, thunderstorms etc. Love the puzzles you've been doing that I saw on insta. Those book nooks have my heart - they're so charming!! I have pepper envy - love them and would grow so many more veggies if I had the space to do it. Blessings dear Sandra. xo

I am always going to be a summer person but I do find I have new appreciation for fall and winter as I get older. Your peppers look good! Hope you have a wonderful week!

Sorry couldn't write before comments were not working here, don't know why but all is well now. I'd love a book nook thingy! Think it might be in my 'from me to me' list ;) Fall is my FAVORITE season... but for now our summer hasn't even started so not tired of it yet... but it doesn't take long if it gets too hot and humid. Have a great week

I am so sorry about that. Had a bit of a hiccup with the template but just sorted it out. Happy that it works for you. Yes you need a booknook, it is highly addictive but in a good way, I loved making mine.
