Happy Homemaker Monday - 06/02/2025

Good morning sweet ladies, how are you doing today?

It is Monday morning, the second of June.  How?  Are you just as dumbfounded as I am that we are in June of 2025?

I had a wonderful pretty relaxed weekend, which is something both Curt and I were desperate for.  It felt like we were in a loop of busy and constant on the go.  Our week days just ran into weekends, with not separation whatsoever and we both started feeling exhausted and frustrated.  Thankfully it's calmed down a little.

Anyway, let's get on  with our Happy Homemaker Monday post.  Have a blessed week friends!

The weather:::
Warm, hot, muggy, humid.  All the things I immensely dislike about Summer time and it's just the beginning.  We've had a little rain here and there, but looks like the whole week ahead is going to be a wet one.

As I look outside my window:::
It is cloudy and grey with a very slight wonderful breeze.  The temperatures have dropped a little and with that breeze it feels wonderful.

Right now I am:::
Sitting in bed under the covers.  I usually have something playing on the tv, but today I have opted for silence.  I'm working on this post, then will get up and get my day started.

Something fun to share (a blog, a video, a tip):::
Are you a Jane Austen fan?  Do you know that this year marks the 250th Anniversary of her birth?

A lot of book fans take the month of June and July to read Jane Austen's books, watch her movies, or do anything Jane Austen inspired.  I plan on doing just that, read her books again, watch her wonderful movies again, documentaries and so forth.

Thinking and pondering:::
Honestly just on the new meal plan.  I am waiting for a new cookbook to arrive within the next few days, hopefully before Wednesday when I need to get my groceries.  Hoping to use that book for some new recipes to try.

On my bedside table:::
Kleenex, Kindle, water bottle.

On my tv:::
Homemaking vlogs
Book vlogs
Jane Austen movies and documentaries

Listening to:::
Alexa giving me the morning weather update

On the menu for this week:::
Not sure yet, will be working on it over the next few days.

Monday - Greek Beef Stew with Orzo, Sauteed Cabbage
Tuesday - Gnocchi Bolognese, Garlic Bread, Salad
Wednesday - Greek Sheet pan Chicken, Roast Veggies, Lentil salad
Thursday -
Friday -
Saturday
Sunday

On my to do list:::
Change Bed linens
Water plants
Daily Bible reading and daily decree
Daily 10k steps
Carpet cleaning
Start working on the new meal plan

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Granny squares inspired by Cath Kidston's colors.

My simple pleasure:::
Spending time with my chickens.  Just love being with them.

Looking around the house:::
Quiet at the moment.  I have a clothes rack in the living room with some random items that I washed yesterday.  A tablecloth, some rugs, a towel, things like that.

I need to give the whole house a good dusting and vacuuming, and then do the carpets in the dining and living room.

From the camera:::
My sleepy babies ♥

Bible verse, Devotional:::
"And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.." - Matthew 18:3-5

I change the bed linens on Wednesday. It's one of the household tasks I don't like much. I find changing the duvet is quite a work-out.
