Good morning ladies, I hope you had a wonderful weekend.
Welcome to the first Happy Homemaker Monday of October. It is a beautiful morning, nice and crisp with the wonderful Fall scented air. You know what I mean? There is a certain scent lingering in the early morning. Love it.
I hope you all have a fantastic, blessed week. Thank you again for all the kind comments you've been leaving on my posts, this past week, it means so much. Truly!
Now, let's get on with today's post.

*** Right now I am ***
Sitting in bed and typing up this post. I finished my coffee which always makes me sad taking that last sip. Hahahah
*** Thinking and pondering ***
I have had the best week being away from social media. I think I am going to continue like this. It's been eye opening in so many ways, the stress I was feeling just from reading all the news and seeing all the negative comments and fighting, was getting to me more than I realized.
I have spent the past week homemaking, knitting and crocheting, watching tv and learning to enjoy life around me again. My soul feels renewed and so content right now. I really advise you all to try it, even if you just do it for a day at first, I promise you will feel so much better.
*** How I am feeling ***
It's the first day of my cycle and I am just done already. *snicker* Hormonal headache, crampy, slightly lightheaded. The usual perimenopause cycle symptoms. Thankfully today is my rest day, no workout or focusing too hard on getting my 15k steps in, and I am really happy about that because the way I am feeling, I couldn't be bothered.
*** On the breakfast plate ***
Just had my coffee, and will have a bowl of Cream of Wheat in about an hour.
*** On the lunch plate ***
I have leftover Caesar salad from dinner, and will add some tuna to it.
*** On the dinner plate ***
Kabsa Chicken and Rice Bake, Roasted Veggies.
*** On the menu ***
Will be working on the new meal plan for the next two weeks, but this is what I have until Wednesday.
Monday
Kabsa Chicken and Rice Bake, Roasted Veggies
Tuesday
Shepherd's Pie, Salad
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
Saturday
Sunday
*** What I am wearing ***
Still in my nightie, but will change into a tank top and some comfy baggy pajama pants later. I don't wear pajamas around the house, unless it is the first day of my cycle and then, I throw caution to the wind, put on a comfy pair of clean pajama bottoms and go on about my day.
*** On my reading pile ***
We have started the new testament in the Bible. I am still doing the Bible Recap and will finish it, but won't be doing it again next year. I need a break from being told what to read. hahahah I am a mood reader and I don't enjoy having to stick to a specific reading routine.
I was kind of enjoying Roanoke but ended up giving up. It is written in first person and became so weird that when someone was speaking, I had no idea who it was. It was confusing, chaotic at times and there was zero character development. It jumped around, and I guess I could go on. I don't think I have felt so negative about a book, in a long time. I love the idea of the book, Queen Elizabeth and Roanoke etc. But this was just very poorly executed.
Anyway, I gave up on that book and started The Secrets of Hartwood Hall by Katie Lumsden. Now this one, I am already very much into the story and loving it.

*** On my TV this week ***
Vlogtober on YouTube. My Blogtober post for tomorrow, will be sharing the ones I love following for Vlogtober, they are mainly based in England and pretty much all crafty channels. So, if that is something that interests you, come back tomorrow for that post.
*** Looking around the house ***
It is quiet and dark. Curt just left for work, but everyone else is still asleep. I need to do the usual Monday clean up and tidy, and really need to give the carpets a clean. I was supposed to do it last week but ended up not getting a chance, and I can't stand dirty carpets.
*** To do list ***
Bible and Devotional time
Daily homemaking chores
Water inside plants
Continue Part 1 of the Solstice Blanket
*** What I am creating ***
I started the first part of the Solstice Blanket CAL by Helen at Crystals and Crochet. I love her CAL projects, she has some of the most beautiful blankets to make.*** From the camera ***
The beginning of the Solstice Star Blanket. I thought about buying some new yarn, but decided against it, and went to my stash to see what I had. I found a few new skeins that I hadn't used it, and decided to use though instead. It's not my usual color combination, as you know if you've followed me for any amount of time, but I am loving how it is looking. It is definitely a Fall/Winter palette and I don't have many of those crochet blankets, most of mine are very cheery and more Spring/Summer, so I am quite excited for this one.
*** Devotional, Prayers, Bible Verses ***
Our Pastor just finished his Storm is Coming series, and wow it was amazing. Yesterday's sermon was about how divisive the end times will be, and how Jesus will divide the sheep from the goats. The illusion that many have, even some Christians, that we are all going to Heaven, all of us, no questions asked, is quite sad. We are not guaranteed everlasting life, and without knowing when Jesus is returning, we need to be ready at all times. We focused on Matthew 25, which is fantastic in describing exactly how we will be separated and why. Give it a read, and really study the word and the message Jesus conveyed.

It's cold and wet here... so a beautiful blanket like the one you're making would be perfect. And the colors are gorgeous!
Good morning. I'm so happy for you that you are finally seeing some fall mornings! And I'm glad you're enjoying the time away from social media! It has become too much! I've been avoiding it myself as well as even the news - makes me a happier person. I love the new blanket! Not your normal colors, but oh so pretty. I've been thinking about you lately as i help a friend with her MIL's estate. She was a knitter and crocheter and so far we have found over 200 bins (yes, I said bins! large 18x24 inch sterilite bins) FULL of yarn!!! They were in the attic, basement, craft room, closets.... if only you were closer.
Hello dearest Sandra! I love the idea of less social media and more home and life focus. Love your current blanket project- beautiful colors! I'm so happy to hear you're getting more Fall like mornings. It's sure getting gorgeous with color here in the northwoods. Frost warnings for the evenings this week. Autumn has truly arrived. 🍁🧡 Blessings on your week ahead. xo
Thank you for the great posts Sandra... I deleted my Instagram account. The peace I have experienced is so awesome! I don't think I am ever going to go back to Instagram. I cleaned out my youtube account too. Only following and watching the ones who inspire me. Such freedom. Fall and Winter is my most favourite months. Thank you for Blogtober. Something to look forward to every day :)
I'll finish out The Bible Recap this year as well. I'm glad that I did it, but next year I want to do more in depth studies and stay in a certain book for a longer period of time.
It's strange but there is something freeing about letting go of a book that you just can't connect with. Sometimes I feel like I have to push on no matter what, but then its nice to say you know, this one isn't working for me lol!
I also love that blanket, its beautiful! I bet that candle smells nice as well! I'm so glad to link up with you today! Thanks so much for hosting!
Dearest Sandra,
I truly love the autumnal "dress" of your so lovely blog, it's even more welcoming and I feel at home more and more here!
And what to say about the image you've chosen for the Happy Homemaker Monday's party for this period of the year which is the one I do prefer... The days are becoming shorter and colder, we devote much more time to our nests and our families and I simply adore the palette which is dressing the woods around us, which seems the one you've chosen for what is going to become a wonderful blanket!
Thanking you so much for hosting,
I'm sending blessings from across the ocean
