{ 31 Days of Prayer for my Husband - Day 8 }

Day 8

Pray that your husband will work hard to provide for your family, to the best of his ability. Pray that the character qualities necessary for a successful career and ministry will be a growing part of his character—persistence, decisiveness, strength, an analytical mind, organizational skills, positive relationships with people, determination, etc. (Rom. 12:11; 1 Cor. 15:58 )

Romans 12:6

6Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith;

1 Corinthians 15:58

58
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in (B)the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.

*** Book I'm reading ***
Finished both The Apothecary's Daughter by Julie Klassen and Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson. Also finished the second book in the Rae Carson Trilogy, so the second book after Walk on Earth a Stranger, and am well into the third and last.  Took this weekend off to catch up on my reading, and I can't tell you how much I love just sitting down on a quiet afternoon, with a hot cup of tea and reading a good book.

So, at the moment, I'm reading Into the Bright Unknown by Rae Carson.

Also, still in Joshua in the Bible.

{ 31 Days of Prayer for my Husband - Day 7 }

Day 7
Pray that your husband will safeguard his heart against inappropriate relationships with the opposite sex. Pray that his heart will be pure and undivided in his commitment to you. (Prov. 6:23-24, 26; Rom. 13:14)

Proverbs 6:23-24

23For he commandment is a lamp and the teaching is light;
And reproofs for discipline are the way of life
24To keep you from the evil woman,
From the smooth tongue of the adulteress.

Proverbs 6:26 (New American Standard Bible)

26
For on account of a harlot one is reduced to a loaf of bread,
And an adulteress hunts for the precious life.

Romans 13:14 (New American Standard Bible)

14But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts.

{ 31 Days of Prayer for my Husband - Day 6 }

 Day 6

Pray that your husband will love righteousness and hate wickedness, especially the evils of the culture. Pray that he will recognize and avoid wickedness in his own life, and if necessary, take a clear, strong stand against evil. (Prov. 27:12; John 17:15; 1 Cor. 10:12-13)

Proverbs 27:12 (New International Version)

12 The prudent see danger and take refuge,
but the simple keep going and suffer for it.

John 17:15 (New International Version)

15My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.

1 Corinthians 10:12-13 (New International Version)

12So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! 13No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

 Day 5

Pray that your husband will be faithful to his wedding vows. Pray that he will have a desire to cultivate your relationship as a sign of his loyalty and commitment to you, and as a picture of Christ’s love for the Church. (Prov. 20:6; Gen. 2:24)

Proverbs 20

6Many a man proclaims his own loyalty,
But who can find a trustworthy man?

Genesis 2:24 (New American Standard Bible)

24 For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
