Happy Homemaker Monday #42

Morning :)

How was everyone's weekend?   Mine was super busy but really fun.  There's nothing better than spending time with your family.

Feel free to use :)

The Weather:::
64 degrees at the moment.  Yesterday we got up to 95 and this is the point where I start begging for mercy and pleading for some Fall-ish weather around here.  Goodness, enough with the heat already.

Right now I am:
Drinking some Hazelnut Coffee, typing this post up, chatting with the hubby and thinking about what all I need to get done today.

Thinking:
That I have so many reviews I need to sort out and get ready to post.  Also thinking about some redecorating and reorganizing I have to do and what would be the best way.

On my reading pile:::

Susan Wittig Albert Cottage Tales series.

On my tv:::
Just watched Downton Abbey's last episode for this Season.  I can't believe it's already over and now I have to wait until Christmas for the special.  *sigh*
Started a new series on YouTube called Gardens Through Time and for all you Gardeners out there or those who love garden/flowers etc, I think you would really enjoy this one.  Matter of fact the first person I thought of when I saw this series was my sweet friend over at "Flowerlady's Musings".

On the menu for this week:::

Monday - Oven Ranch Chicken with Pasta Salad
Tuesday - Impossibly Easy Bacon Pie
Wednesday - Fish Fingers, Veggies, Homemade Fries
Thursday - Cornmeal Sage Biscuits w/ gravy
Friday - Stuffed Crust Pizza
Saturday - Chicken a la King w/ rice
Sunday - Crab Ragoon w/ sesame noodles

On my to do list:::
One basket of laundry to put away
Homeschooling
Homemaking

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Starting a Crochet Christmas bunting

Homemaking Tips:::
When doing laundry, as soon as you pull the clothes out of the dryer, fold them and divide them into piles according to the family member.  Then take each pile at a time and put it away immediately.  If you put them in laundry baskets, chances are, they will SIT in the basket for a few days at the very least.
I've forced myself to do this the past few months and it has helped immensely.

Looking around the house:::
A certain little boy decided to dump half of his Halloween candy on my Ottoman, so I need to get that picked up.  He also left all his Skylander figurines on the same Ottoman, so it's just a plain mess over there.   Kitchen is semi clean, have a few random dishes in the sink to throw in the dishwasher but other than that aside from a little tidying on the counters, it's clean.  It's dark, there's a few lamps on.

From the camera:::

Homemade Crockpot Applesauce, you can find the recipe on my food blog.

On my prayer list:::
My brother and sister in law, they have a very important meeting on Thursday and I am praying that they get the answer they want.
For this beautiful country, for the election tomorrow to go off without incident, for the citizens to pull together and to do what is right, and for everyone who can vote to do so keeping in mind to vote for the love of their country, for what is best for this great nation.

Bible verse, Devotional:::
The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.
Psalm 145:18-19

Hi Sandra

It's been a long time since I have visited (or blogged myself!). I love reading all your blog posts, but especially the Happy Homemaker posts ~ thank you! I look forward to seeing your Christmas bunting.

Love and best wishes

I think you must have been thinking of me with your homemaking tip. I detest putting away laundry. I get everything washed and folded but then we pick through the basket to find our clothes all week. I think I'll try it your way today.

Hi Sandra.. I am off until tonight so I thought I would do another Happy Homemaker. I just reread a few of my other ones and so thankful that I took time to do them. Thanks for keeping this going. My husband and I are working hard on the laundry today and PUTTING IT AWAY. Trust me it has been in the laundry baskets in the living room, mind you for awhile. Embarrassed to say, but just being honest.

Ha! I have a basket of laundry currently sitting going on 2 days now. I'm planning on putting it away during my daughter's nap time :)

I love your laundry tip! I've been doing the same thing... I wash all my laundry in the morning and then fold it in the afternoon. I have my big girl put her laundry up, I put mine and my hubby's laundry up, and my hubby put's the baby's laundry up.

I love your laundry tip. I just put away 8 large loads of laundry that had been sitting in baskets for 4 days...will have to keep your tip in mind. :)

Haven't tried crockpot applesauce--just making it the old way. I love Downton Abbey! I hope that means the season will show up on Netflix soon:) Have a great week Sandra! As always, love being part of Happy Homemaker Monday.

Hahaha! I have two giant baskets of laundry that need to be put away right now. It's good to know that I'm not alone in the battle. I'm so bad about putting away laundry. I need to actually go through all the drawers and get rid of clothes that don't fit or are out of season. Maybe when the drawers aren't so jam packed, I'll feel more motivated to put the laundry away.
