My niece Tiffany, LOVES horses. She is just obsessed with them and her dream has always been to own her own horse.
In just 13 days they will be arriving in the USA to start a new life and I'm so ecstatic that I can't even put into words.
I can not wait to take her around and show her all the beautiful horses in the neighboring houses. It's pretty hard to drive by these horses without thinking of her :)
Oh this country life, I really was born to live this way and I just don't ever want to live near a busy city again, it's just not for me.
I'm only hoping that one of my neighbors gets a horse soon because I think that I would be pretty happy just watching it in the pasture and snapping pics.
I'm still slowly taking it all in, and I find myself wanting to pinch my arm to make sure I'm not dreaming.
Not sure I would want my horses right at my front door though LOL
The air is purer, mine and Nic's allergies are completely gone, the pugs are breathing better, and there is just something about country air that does your soul good.
Such a beautiful horse, and there are so many around here that I'm sure I'll be snapping pictures constantly.
I didn't only go around taking pictures of horses, I also chose today to relax and take a break from unpacking, which didn't go very well because I got bored and ended up in Nic's bedroom.
I don't know, maybe I just wasn't wired to sit around and do nothing? I try so hard to relax but I can't do it, so I've decided to not stop but merely slow down and take my time. Compromise right?
My day did start quite relaxing though, with a hot cup of coffee out on the deck with my bird friend who is sitting upon her two baby eggs like a good mama.
I then moved inside and gathered some of my favorite things, things that make me happy.
and if you're wondering about the books, here's a closer look.
A Promise for Ellie by Lauraine Snelling
A Rose Revealed by Gayle Roper
The Heart's Frontier by Lori Copeland & Virginia Smith
Hearts West: True Stories of Mail Order Brides on the Frontier
The Joy of Keeping Chickens
Art of the Chicken Coop
Traditional Kitchen Wisdom
A bit of a mixed bag for me, but I like it that way.
And here are my girls enjoying the morning sun :)
Now, tomorrow I'll be back with Cooking Thursday, I've really missed it and missed sharing and receiving your recipes so figured it was time to bring it back to the blog. Can't wait.
I'll share the recipe for tonight's dinner, one of my favorite childhood meals.
I'm off to grab the yarn, the knitting needles and get to work on some dish cloths for my Etsy shop. Will let you know when I open it, it's practically done just haven't posted items for sale and am hoping to do that starting next week.
Have a wonderful night and thank you all for stopping by to visit, I'll be finally coming around to see everyone tomorrow morning.

The series that A Promise for Ellie is part of is one of my favorites!
Great to hear from you and get a glimpse of your new 'hood. I'm very happy for you!
I have to admit, I am a tad envious of your country life. Enjoy.
Your meat pastries look delicious!

I totally agree. I don't mind visiting the city for a day, but I LOVE living out in the country! I'm so happy for you and your family, Sandra!
I Love horses too, I always wanted one, still don't have one. Thanks for sharing pictures.
beautiful horses...glad youre all adjusting well to the country..
Country life is beautiful isn't it... wasn't so sure about it when when we first moved out to it 13 years ago... but now I can only stand going into the city every once in a while to do what I need to.
Ooh, I need to check out that "Art of the Chicken coop" book! That's so exciting that your niece is coming to the USA!
I live about 5 minutes south of the Wisconsin border, near Lake Michigan, and some of these pictures look like my area too! Just to the west of us is some serious horse country. Wide open spaces, corrals, and barns. I love it. It's the most calming, beautiful sight.
I'm loving the pictures! I love the horses and dream of having one someday. I might have to pick up some of those books. They look interesting. Ivenhad a bad habit of finishing the books I start lately. I just need to settle down and read.
