The interwebs have been installed

Well my friends, after a month of no internet, we finally got it set up early this morning.

My kids were ecstatic and immediately jumped on to play their games, me all I could think was "Oh my gosh, I can upload all my photos and start posting on the blog again.  Yippee!"

So here I am, and now I'm ready to get back to daily blogging with tons of pictures and stories and filling you in on this new adventure I'm on.  You'll get to hear all about it, as I get used to living in Texas, start exploring the area and get back to a normal life.  Whatever that means LOL

I guess I should start by showing you around, remember I said it's a country house, or ranch house as they call it here.  It's out in the country, right at the edge of town and about 10 miles or so from base.

Matter of fact I don't even need to get on the highway to get to base, which is wonderful.

Let me show you the outside of the house, now this house was built in 1969 and it was custom built, but it's also been sitting vacant for a year and a half, the previous tenant was apparently military and I guess just up and left pretty quick.

Now keep in mind these photos were taken right as we moved in, the yard hadn't been mowed in a while.

The workshop out back, it is pretty big and we are thinking that if we do indeed buy this house, we may turn it into a guest house.

Huge yards, we have 3 acres and so  mowing takes quite a long time, as we found out last week.  A riding mower is something we definitely need to look into getting in the future, for now we make do with my father in law's, and he is kind enough to bring it up when he can, they are just two hours away from us.

Definition of country road to me, makes me think of those Amish pictures I see, all that is missing is a buggy.

Moving into the actual house, I haven't taken many pictures, I was waiting to get the internet up before doing that.....but here is a picture of the front door, which I LOVE.

My kitchen, I'm not sure about that yellow yet, I'm kind of living with it for now and seeing how I feel about it.  Might end up painting it, or might leave it alone.....what do you think?

By the way, that microwave did not stay, it is not part of the house it was just loaned to my husband while he was here in Texas alone.

House is full of these french glass doors and I think they are gorgeous.  This house pretty much closes itself off in sections which I appreciate because I've been so used to playing pug soccer when someone rings the doorbell or knocks, it's much easier now that I can just close the door leading to the rest of the house.

Like I said, I will take more pictures and share them over the next few days and also as I get the house looking like I want it.  I think I have enough pictures where I can do a before and after.....we'll see.

Now something that I have been fascinated with, and I guess I shouldn't be since I'm out in the country, is the amount of wildlife, namely birds, that I've been able to photograph.  Oh and my yard is filled with butterflies, there's a huge one that I actually thought was a bird hahahaha

Now bird wise, goodness I've enjoyed snapping some of these and just watching them go about their business

Gorgeous sunsets and sunrises, something I've always been very blessed to witness both in Arizona and Idaho and now here in Texas.

I'm loving the area so far, I'm loving being surrounded by nature and being away from neighbors and busy neighborhoods, this is truly where I feel at home. I can't wait to continue sharing with you.

Feels amazing to be back online and to be able to work on my blog again, I want to apologize again for being so sporadic in my posting and I appreciate you all for hanging in there and still dropping by to say hi.

Now I can say, I'll see you all tomorrow :)

  2. Welcome back Sandra so happy to see your post, I am taking it you're not in the flooding area of Texas? I hope not they are struggling bad, we're having a heck of a time here this year with rain too in soho were praying our garden survives..... Now onto kitchen, if you're allowed to paint I say paint, I see light light blue and white cabinets the cabinets need painted, if you're allowed, that will brighten it up tremendously.... I like light farmhouse style :). Well so happy to see you're all doing good look forward to more photos and all the changes you will do....the doors are awesome too, love how you have the French doors through out, I see country farmhouse French or shabby chic happening in that home....;)

  3. Hurray ~ you're back. You've had a hectic first half of this year, now you're settling into your new wonderful country home. I love what I see so far, except for the yellow in the kitchen. It's just a little too bright for my taste. Your front door is fantastic and I love the french doors in your home. I can hardly wait to see and hear more.

Three acres is GREAT! No close neighbors is even GREATER! Country roads, wow. Flowers, birds and butterflies too. You are blessed!
