{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 06/18/2018 }

Good morning everyone, hope you're all having a good Monday morning so far.

I'm doing ok.  We have some family issues going on, this time with Nicholas and I really need some prayers for my son.  I don't want to go into details but he seems to be suffering from depression as well and I'm extremely worried about him at this point.

Having gone through a horrid ordeal with Jasmine's depression and anxiety, it seems that the past is repeating itself and I'm at a loss.  We just need a lot of prayers right now.

The weather.....It's been pretty hot but looks like we'll be in the lower 90's this week, with possibly a thunderstorm midweek.

Right now I am....Have the World Cup soccer on the TV, have laundry going and I'm trying to get this post up for you all.

Thinking....About what is going on with my son.  We are trying to help him through this and will do whatever we need to.  It's so hard when they're 15 years old, the hormones are raging and there's so much going on in their heads.  He is very withdrawn, doesn't want to get out of his room or do anything, it's almost a daily fight with him.  Friends, I'm honestly terrified at this point.

On my reading pile.... The summer list.  The review will be up this Wednesday.

On my TV.....The World Cup and that's pretty much it for the next month.

On the menu for this week....
Monday - Chipotle Burrito Bowls
Tuesday - Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Fries
Wednesday - Spaghetti with garlic bread
Thursday - Chicken Pie, Salad
Friday - Vegan Burgers, Onion Rings
Saturday - Pizza
Sunday - Leftovers

On my to do list....

Finish all the laundry
Carpet clean
Going with my sister in law to a doctor's appointment
Start packing for San Diego

In the craft basket....Nothing at the moment.

Looking forward to this week....Nothing really, and I'm sorry if I seem a bit off today, I'm just so stressed, anxious and worried.  We're dealing with some serious issues and I am struggling to keep myself calm and cool headed through it all.

Looking around the house....It's clean and I don't need to do much, which is a good thing because I got no sleep last night and I'm absolutely exhausted this morning.

From the camera....
My big boy Marley.

Dear Heavenly Father, I come before You this afternoon and join the other ladies here on HHM in lifting Sandra and her family before Your throne. Father God, You know every detail of what's going on in Sandra's home right now and what's going on with her son...in his heart and in his mind...and, Father God, we take authority over this situation right now in the name of Jesus! Father God, I plead the blood of Jesus over Sandra and her family...especially her son...and I ask that You would intervene! Send ministering spirits to them, Lord, to help them. Protect them, Father. I ask that the Holy Spirit would minister to Sandra and her husband and lead them unto all truth. Give them wisdom and direction as to how to deal with everything they're facing right now, Father God, and give them peace, Lord. Give them Your peace...the peace that surpasses all understanding. Lord, I pray angelic protection down and around them...angelic protection to stand guard over them...to protect their home and entrance into their lives from the enemy. Father, we stand in the gap for Sandra and her family today. Lord, we stand on Jeremiah 29:11 (God's got a good plan for their lives) and Isaiah 54:13 (no weapon that is formed against them shall prosper) and Isaiah 54:13 over Sandra's children (great shall be the peace of her children)! Lord God, we praise You and thank You in advance for a GOOD report in this situation and we give You all the glory and honor! In Jesus' holy and precious name we pray it...Amen!!!

We love you, Sandra, and will continue to remember you and your family in our thoughts and prayers here. <3

Sending prayers for you and your family Sandra. I think Rebecca prayed a perfect one and I joined in on that. I will continue to hold your family up - as I did when I was praying for Jasmine in the past. Maybe need to set up an appointment with Nicholas's pediatrician as a reference for maybe outside help, or even meds that could help him? I have heard that antidepressants are a leading med in our country now. I think partly due to our society- but a lot because folks are more informed that it's ok to not feel good all the time and to say there's a problem and you need extra help for a while. Much less stigma attached. But I do think kids have it so much harder than they did in the past.

God bless and know we all care and are here for you. xoxo

Sending you positive thoughts and prayers. Any social clubs or sports Nick might take an interest in? Sci fi or martial arts? Being a teen is tough enough but doing having a posse of friends can help weather the storm.

I am so sorry to hear your child is going through depression. It's such a horrible disease, I've struggled with it for years only to learn that I've been misdiagnosed the entire time and actually am bipolar 2. Getting on the right meds have made a world of difference.

I hope y'all are able to find what works for him.

Sandra, this post really touched my heart because we just went through the same thing with our youngest who is also 15. It was all over a girl. Need I say more. Not only did she do something that hurt my son but it was bad enough that she hurt our family. I'm ashamed to say that forgiveness has not come easy for me. My son was depressed for months and I had no clue why. He left me in the dark. However the only people he would talk to was his older brother and sister in law. I am by no means upset or jealous because I'm glad he felt comfortable enough to talk to them and they were there for him. They finally had to tell me because we did not know what we were going to face. But Praise God he worked it all out. During this time he was depressed and was not sleeping. His grades were falling and his appetite decreased. I put him on St. John's Wort for a few weeks and some melatonin. I prayed over him every day and his youth minister helped too because his testimony kind of dealt with the situation. So that was a tremendous help. If he doesn't feel comfortable talking to you as his parents he needs to find someone he feels comfortable with. Keep praying for him and let him know you ate there when he gets ready.

You all will be in my thoughts and prayers, Sandra. I’ve been reading a lot about problems young people who play that addictive video game Fortnite. Nicholas hasn’t been playing that, has he?
