Good
morning everyone, and a very happy Monday to you all.
We are already in the month of August, my birthday month, matter of fact, I'll be turning 51 on the 10th. I feel like I just turned 18 and here I am, passing the 50 mark. It's crazy to imagine but I am so blessed to be here, to be alive, to have been given this opportunity by God.
Time has been flying, and we've been so busy. My body is exhausted, I can tell you that I am struggling at this point, but my niece leaves Wednesday morning and as sad as I am to see her go, I am also looking forward to getting back into my normal routine and getting some much needed rest.
I hope you're all doing well. I've missed being on the blog and really hope I can get back to normal posting soon.
Without further ado though, let's get on with today's post. I have been on the go since early morning and haven't had a chance to sit and type this up. I apologize for it being so late. Have a blessed week my friends ♥
The weather:::
We have had some wonderful weather, we dropped down from the triple digits, which I am very thankful for, and even got some good rain yesterday.
As I look outside my window:::
It is about to turn 6PM, and the sun has moved lower on the horizon. I actually really enjoy this time of the day, everything seems sleepy, slow, bathed in golden color.

Right now I am:::
Actually just sat on the couch to get this post quickly up. I just finished making dinner for the family, I didn't eat because we had been out for Mexican food for lunch and I am stuffed.
Something fun to share (a blog, a video, a tip):::
I haven't been watching much of anything, aside from random videos on the Idaho Four. There is so much new information being shared and I am quite invested in it all.
Thinking and pondering:::
The fact that the two weeks have flown by, and Taryn-Lee is already leaving on Wednesday morning. It's crazy.

On my bedside table:::
Nothing of mine at the moment, as my niece is using our bedroom, so I'm assuming her stuff is on there. Hahaha
What I'm currently reading:::
On my tv:::
YouTube (homemaking, books, crime)
New Top Gun Maverick movie
Listening to:::
My family is all in the den/dining room, eating dinner and watching the new Top Gun movie, so I'm hearing that in the background.
On the menu for this week:::
We have eaten out so much, that I can tell you I am officially sick of food that is not homecooked. I've had enough. I can't wait for Thursday to get back on track.
Monday - Chicken Pasta and Greek Salad
Tuesday - Portuguese Meatballs, Fries, Salad
Wednesday - One Pot Shawarma Chicken and Rice, Broccoli
Thursday - Fish Fillets, Quinoa, Cucumber and Tomato Salad
Friday - Chourico Pizza
Saturday - Leftovers
Sunday - Barbecue Chicken Legs, Roast Sweet Potatoes, Salad
On my to do list:::
Water plants
Daily Bible reading
Finish any last minute gift pick ups for the family back in South Africa
What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Crochet Bed for little Raven.
My simple pleasure:::
Napping. I know that sounds silly but I would gladly take naps again during the day. I am exhausted, but in a good way hahah
Looking around the house:::
I need to get the carpets cleaned again, but I'm going to wait until Thursday to do that. The house is not spotless but it's tidy and lived in.
From the camera:::
I have nothing today, sorry about that.
Bible verse, prayer, devotional:::
Jesus answered, “It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but
on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'” Matthew 4:4 (NIV).

Enjoy the time you have left with your niece and hope you can get some relaxation in there for you this week
Happy almost birthday my friend! And enjoy these last days with your niece and a great week!
Ik wens je alvast een mooie dag de 10e augustus. En Hartelijk gefeliciteerd.
Blessings dear Friend! I know what you mean - family is such a gift...yet it's nice when our world becomes our own again. Lol You look so amazing for your age and have taken such great control of your health! I work at it too and cheers to a healthy 50 more years for us both. 😉 Enjoy the rest of time with your niece. xoxo
I can totally relate to longing to getting back to your routines and feeling tired. For me, my routines are like a life saver. They keep my mind and body on an even keel.
