{ Blog 365 #85 - Spring cleaning the back yard }

March 26, 2023

I saw a meme the other day that said something along the lines of, when you're in your twenties you stay up all night, drink, have a hungover, and then take a shower, get dressed and head straight to work, like nothing happened.

Then in your 40's, you buy the wrong pillow and are sent to hospice care.  Hahahaha

It made me laugh so hard, because we all know that feeling.  Muscles we didn't know existed, sleeping wrong knocks you out for a few days, and so forth.

I'm bringing that up, because yesterday, I decided to mow the back yard, and clean out the back porch, remove all the weeds by hand, move patio furniture, rake and all the other stuff that needed doing.

I felt fine doing it.  Worked from 9 am until 4:30 pm.

However, by the time I got into bed last night, and this morning......I am broken y'all.  LOL

My word, I am so sore all over.  My hands, lower back, legs and even buttocks.  Why?  Why?

March 26, 2023

But it had to be done.

Just look at that yard?  Looks like I haven't mowed since last summer, and yet it was just two weeks ago.  We've had a lot of rain already this year, so everything is growing super fast, which makes me very happy, but it does mean a lot of mowing every two weeks.

March 26, 2023

Starting to look better.  Does anyone else love seeing the yard being mowed?

It's rewarding seeing the mower carve a line through the tall grass.  The yard looks so much better, I just ended up not taking any other photos, because I had garden gloves on and was juggling a rake, a metal weed puller and so on.  I didn't want to grab my camera with dirty gloves or risk dropping it.

But, I will take some photos and show you.

I did take just two photos of my peach tree, before I started all the work.  How stunning are the peach tree blossoms?

Our fruit trees are going on 3 years old, so hopefully soon we start seeing fruit.

And that my friends, was my Sunday.  Busy, tiring, but very rewarding.

{ Blog 365 #63 - Busy day outside }

My word, what a busy Saturday we had.

I didn't get a chance to stop, until 8pm.

We started the day with a trip to Lowes to pick up wood and other materials needed, to build another coop.  We got one a few weeks back, but we wanted a slightly bigger one so they have more room.  Then we came home and immediately got to work.

Between building the coop, cleaning the yard, and mowing, I am beat.  My hands especially are killing me today.  But it feels good to get work done.  I am happy to see Spring popping up and can't wait to be out there, barbecuing, swimming, and hanging with our chickens.

I will take some pictures of the cook today, and will share with you all.

{ More yard work, tons of homemaking and cooking }

_MG_7559

This week, I've been blessed with 3 days of not having to leave the house.

To some that may seem insane, but to me, a homebody, it has been heavenly.  I've started my mornings off slow, pottered around, washed laundry, hung laundry out to dry, ironed, cleaned, organized, started my seeds, did schooling and have been cooking and baking up a storm.

It has just felt right.

I don't mind having busy days, and I also don't mind leaving the house and driving and so on, but I do prefer being at home in my space with my belongings, and truly homemaking the way I love to.

_MG_7552

We've so much rain lately that everything is springing to life.  The grass has come in green and strong, needing to be mowed already.  Trees are sprouting new life, and Spring is just around the corner.

I very much look forward to spring and summer, my husband however doesn't share that much excitement because to him, it means mowing 3 acres and a lot of yard work in scorching summer temperatures.

_MG_7556

Nonetheless, we've started getting ready for the warmer temperatures.

I started my Saturday by giving the back porch a huge, and I mean huge clean out.  It was to the point where there was minimal space to walk, there were patio chairs and a table, flower pots and old hoses and whatever else you can think of.  It seems to be a catch all during the winter months.

Truthfully, it was driving me insane and the minute the temperatures warmed up, I was out there.

I added this corner shelf and some of my plants.  They are so happy out there, not in direct sunshine but soaking up fresh air and light.

_MG_7553

While I did that, Curt got on the mower and started the long job of mowing.  We are so thankful to God for the ride on mower, it was an expense that we didn't have to get into when we first moved into this house, but you can't have 3 acres and a push mower.

I mean, you can, but trust me, it is not fun.

_MG_7554

We are still trying to get the greenhouse finished off.  The material that Lowes suggested for the outside, was not able to withstand our crazy strong winds, and so it's torn off the top and some of the sides.  Will have to figure out what to use and how, without breaking our bank to do it.

Regardless, I really need this greenhouse up and running soon.

In the meantime, I've started my seeds inside and hopefully they will move to the greenhouse within the next few weeks.

_MG_7555

Sunday morning, Curt and I did a lot of work around the porch area.  We dug up all the grass, got the stone pavers into the ground and started to mulch the area.

My idea is to have mulch in specific areas around the greenhouse.  It's hard to describe what I want the finished vision to be, but you know I'll share it all with you as we go.

_MG_7557

_MG_7558

It may not look like a lot of work yet, but believe me when I tell you, it killed our backs for the rest of the day.  Not to mention, me and my allergies have the hardest time being around all that soil and dirt.

I can't wait to see this whole area looking the way we want it to.

_MG_7560

On Monday, I moved my bedroom around again.  I do it twice a year.  I just love being able to sit on my bed and look out the window into the fields behind the house.  Especially enjoy it during Spring and Summer when I can have the window open and just listen to the birds outside.

_MG_7561

Laundry has been a constant, which also means a constant pile of clothes to iron.

_MG_7572

Also washed all the rugs and mats in the house, including bath mats.  I love clean, fresh and newly washed rugs.

Cooking and baking has also been huge on my list this week.  I've now updated the food blog with 6 new recipes, so if you're interested in my cooking and baking, make sure to go on over to Full Bellies, Happy Kids.

You'll find recipes for:

Sauteed Kabocha Squash
Copycat Starbucks Banana Bread
Creamy Garlic Bread
Mexican Bolillos
Brazilian Cornmeal cake
Roast Chicken legs and potatoes

I had forgotten how much I enjoyed sharing on my food blog, and it's been quite neglected for a while, so it feels good to be back on a regular basis.

I will be sharing more recipes every week.

Today, I need to get some schooling done with Nick and also work on my new meal plan.  I am thinking that there are going to be mainly Portuguese meals the next two weeks, as my family has been missing that kind of food.

Tomorrow it's back to driving back and forth, Friday I have my mammogram and grocery shopping to do.    Saturday we need to take Nick for a haircut and we're also going to my brother and sister in law's house to help with their garden.

So, pretty much back into a busy routine, so I think today I'm going to sit back, relax and take it easy.  I've worked hard all week, moved things, shoveled and packed and organized, and my lower back is needing a bit of a break.

It's also rainy and cloudy outside, so the perfect day to sit on the couch, watch tv, work on the menu, read and cuddle with my Marley.

I hope you've all been having a fantastic week so far.  I'm so glad it's Wednesday, just 2 more days and then I can sleep in without that 5AM alarm clock.  :)

{ Change of plans and some Fall DIY }

Yesterday, I told you that today I would take you for a walk around my property and see how Fall was starting to show it's face, as well as gather some Myrtle Crepes and other plants, foliage so that I can make some cute arrangements inside.

I fully intended to do that until I woke up and was faced with cloudy skies and intermittent sprinkles of rain.

_MG_2919

I should have realized by the way the house seemed so dark, more than usual at this time of the day.

{ We're getting old }

First, and before I move on with anything else, I want to say hi and let you know that I'm still here.

The days just got away from me, and before I knew it Friday, Saturday and Sunday had gone by.

I didn't get a weekend either, I was so busy with the yard work that it all became a bit of a blur.  I'm not sure how I managed to even take pictures, but I did and I'll share those with you, but yeah, not much really happened other outside work.

Know what I'm thinking though?  That I wish it was Friday night and that I had my Saturday and Sunday ahead.  I'm tired, I'm sore and I'm ready for the weekend.  *I'm just whingeing and whingeing and whingeing*  Hahah

Right, so, the title probably caught your attention, I mean it's not everyday that I put up a title like that and then proceed to not immediately explain what I meant.

Well here's the thing, back when we were stationed in Arizona, we did a lot of yard work.  It was something we both enjoyed and we would spend weekends out in the yards, working, mowing, gardening, decorating and all, even in 120 degree weather.  It didn't bother us, we were fine.

Fast forward to now, we are both much older, Curt is 44 and I'm turning 43 on Thursday.

We can't do it.  We get out there and we do about 10 minutes, then drag our sweat drenched, red faced, hyperventilating, dehydrated and water guzzling selves to the living room floor....where we proceed to lay under the AC vent for about 10 minutes, until we can go back out there to shovel and dig and move things around for another 10 or 15 minutes before repeating the process again.

I know it's hot here, I know it's humid and I'm pretty certain none of those things help the situation either, but for goodness sakes, we are struggling people.

We both looked at each other on Saturday and said "Oh my God, we are getting old, we can't do this much longer."  And let's not even mention the aches and pains the next day.

_MG_8221

_MG_8224

Saturday morning he got on the mower and started that part of the work while I cracked on with inside chores.  Dishes, cleaning, laundry, floors and bathrooms etc.

I can always see him from my kitchen window and I love looking out at our property.  It is a lot of land, it is definitely never ending work but we are both loving every second of it.  I consider myself incredibly blessed with the life I have and the husband I have.  He is such a hard working man, both at work and at home :)

_MG_8223

I tried this Raisin Bran for the first time this weekend.  I've had Raisin Bran before before never the crunchy granola.  Loved it and am sure I'll buy it again.

_MG_8226

My flowers are blooming.  Not all of them, a lot of the ones I planted at the same time as these, never did do anything, but that's ok.  I find pleasure in gardening even if I'm not very good at it.  I always joke that I have a Thumb of Death instead of a Green Thumb.

My Stargazer Lilies above, are doing beautifully though, I can't wait to see them flowering.

_MG_8227

I am ashamed to say that I can not for the life of me, remember what this flower is.  I planted so much that day and completely forgot.  I usually label them but didn't this time, so I guess it's a Mystery.

_MG_8229

_MG_8212

After a day's work, when I finally have an hour or so before bed, I have been making a huge dent on my Mandala Madness.  I had to buy more yarn though as I was running out of everything, because I've used some of the same colors on both the Mandala Madness and the Atlanticus.

Curt took me to Walmart on Friday night just to buy me yarn.  I was quite surprised, but I guess he does love me :)

_MG_8232

_MG_8236

Sunday we did more yard work, finally got some more landscaping done.  It's looking so good out there, and I'll try to grab some photos tomorrow.   There's still so much work to be done, but it's going to take time and again.....we're getting old.  hahah

We also had my brother, sister in law and nephew over for dinner.  It was great sitting down to a good home cooked meal and a nice visit and catch up.  We always end up laughing until our sides hurt.  Again, blessed to live near family after almost 20 years of it being just us 4.

That soup above, was today's lunch, by the way.  It's been cloudy and rainy and very wintery kind of day, and that always makes me crave soup.  I didn't know what I had on hand and since I have to get groceries on Friday, I just went ahead and used up all the veggies I had in the fridge that needed to be used up.

Broccoli, shredded carrot, a leftover baked potato, a small onion, celery, a can of diced tomatoes and I even put in my leftover pulled pork from the other night's dinner.  What a delicious soup I got out of it.  And I made a huge pot too so have two big jars of leftover soup for the fridge for quick lunches during the week.  I'll certainly enjoy those.

_MG_8239

With all my housework done earlier in the day, I was able to take some time today to work on the Mandala Madness.

I have far too many projects on the go, and have decided that I need to get them all finished and off my hooks so I can get ready for a few more Crochet Alongs coming up.  I think I might actually give a lot of these blankets away as Christmas gifts.  It will be a thoughtful homemade gift from me, will save me money, and I'll have an excuse to try out a bunch of different crochet blankets.  Right?

_MG_8240

Well my friends, it's that time for me.  My comfy bed is calling my name, my Marley is already asleep snuggled up next to me, so I think I'll go ahead and call it a night.

I have a cookbook review coming up tomorrow for you all, and I also have a Homemaking Series planned to share with you all in the next few weeks.  But more on all that later.

Have a beautiful blessed night.

{ Sunday...does it really matter as a mom? }

You know I was thinking earlier and actually stated it out loud to my family.  There really is no weekend for me, every day is the same day.

They kind of looked at me weird because they weren't understanding what I was saying, and so I explained that as a mom, as a homemaker, I don't get weekends off work.  What I do on a Monday, a Thursday, a Friday.....is what I do on a Saturday and Sunday.  There really is no difference.

Boy am I glad I actually love what I do, or I would be in serious trouble.

Not going to lie though, there are days that I feel like I really could have used an actual weekend of doing absolutely nothing, and having the time dragging on.

So....Sunday!!!!

I'll have to show you what I was up to today.  I'm sitting here in bed getting ready to go to sleep and knowing it's Monday tomorrow and wondering what exactly I did for fun or to relax today.  I was busy from morning to night.

My day started with yard work.  We are now done mowing all 3 acres and it looks amazing :)  There's something very rewarding about looking back after all that mowing and seeing beautiful, green cut grass.

June 18, 2017

While Curt finished off the back yard, I started work on the front, more specifically the flower beds right in front of the house.  They have been giving us headaches since we moved in.  Last year, I pulled everything out, and planted wildflowers, the flowers came in but so did all the weeds and annoying spiky prickly things.

June 18, 2017

I didn't quite get as much done as I wanted because I started getting taunted by a wasp and decided it's best that I be the one to back off.  I don't think I would win that fight.  Also found one of their nests, so tomorrow I'm spraying it.

June 18, 2017

I did all my laundry, including kitchen towels, bath rowels, linens and the kid's baskets as well.  Everything is washed....not everything is put away, but you know how that goes right?

June 18, 2017

Made some quick and easy frozen pizza for lunch.

June 18, 2017

It's been pretty cloudy and dark all day, we are expecting storms tonight, so I had all my scentsy burners and candles on.

June 18, 2017

While waiting for the laundry to dry, and folding two loads, I sat and worked on the blog book.  I actually just finished 2009, so happy about that.

June 18, 2017

Marley always takes naps on the couch, and right up against me, or with his head on my lap.  He is just the sweetest big boy.

Once all housework was done and the laundry folded, I got dinner done.  I made a simple cheese stuffed meatloaf.  There are quite a few meatloaf recipes on the food blog, if any of you are interested in looking or trying for yourself.

June 18, 2017

And that my friends was pretty much my Sunday.  It just zipped right by, was filled with busy homemaking things with a cup of coffee thrown in mid afternoon, and some puppy snuggles too.

By the way, I am almost 100% back to normal, the medication has been a total life saver.  Once again I followed God's guidance.  I had been feeling unwell for over a week and finally, before I called to make the appointment, I was standing in the kitchen trying to do dishes and feeling extremely frustrated with the lightheaded and congestion feeling.

I stopped and prayed out loud to God, asking Him to please guide me and let me know, just give me a push as to whether this is something that will go away on it's own, or if I need to go see a doctor.

Within 10 minutes, I was feeling led to make the appointment and go in.  Oh goodness, if only I would follow His lead more often instead of fighting it.

But yeah, I'm feeling much better, already finished my Sudafed and am now just on the Amoxicillin and Allegra.  I have to take the antibiotics until they're finished, and as for the Allegra, the doctor suggested taking one every day during allergy season, so I think I'll continue with that for now because it really is helping.

Well friends, I hope you all had a good weekend, if you did anything fun or exciting, I would love to hear it.

I'm going to call it a night and try to get some sleep.  I'll be back early morning with my Happy Homemaker Monday. :)

{ That riding mower packs a punch }

Ok, it is 9:23 PM and I'm sitting in bed, with my Marley asleep next to me.

I had just gotten into bed actually when I realized that I had forgotten to do a post today.  See if this had happened any other time, like say 2015 or 2016, I would have just not posted.  Shamefully I admit that there were weeks that I didn't even remember I had a blog.

I don't know how I did that or how I allowed my brain to even go there, but it did.  What a bummer, but I'm being really good about blogging right now, mainly because as I work on the books it reminds me just how much I loved blogging and how important it is to have all my days recorded.

Anyway, I went completely off track here, sorry.

Back to today.

I was about to lay down and watch my Ghost Adventures and realized I forgot to post, so I got up, went to fetch my laptop and came back to bed.  With a big smile on my face, mind you :)

Today, Curt and I worked on the yards.  We're not done yet, but we got quite a bit accomplished.  All that is left is the fenced in back yard where Marley goes and then one area in the far back of the property, but we have to remove some big tree stumps that fell down during a thunderstorm.

If you haven't been reading my blog, then you won't know that my husband got a riding mower for Father's Day.  No, it wasn't paid up front, we are on a budget, but one car gets paid off next week, and another bill gets paid 3 months after.  So we went through Aaron's and are paying this mower off, it's a must for the big property we live on.

Oh goodness, I just did it again, went off track.  I must be tired because I seem to be randomly babbling and not really getting to the point.  Sorry about that.

Anyway, let's try again LOL

I didn't want to get on the mower at first, it goes pretty fast and I felt a little intimidated, but I love work, I love yard word and mowing and getting in there, I've never shied away from any kind of work no matter what it is.

Hubby asked if I wanted to learn how to use this mower and I said yes.

Let me tell you, I'm glad we don't have many neighbors around because I took off on the thing and screamed for a bit.   Once I got the hang of it though, I mowed a big patch in no time, and really enjoyed being out there in the sun, talking to God and just enjoying the roar of the mower.

The mailman came right as I was done and dropped off these.

June 17, 2017

Another book for review.  I reviewed a book by the same author, I think a few weeks ago.  When the opportunity came up for this new one, I had to jump on it.

June 17, 2017

I also got this box full of pamphlets and travel brochures for Oklahoma.  I requested them last week and they got here pretty quickly.

We're trying to plan some fun family activities for this summer, especially knowing that soon Jasmine will be moving out.  I took a quick peek through these and there's so many cool places, I can't wait to sit down with these.

The rest of my Saturday was spent doing laundry, because you know, that's never ending.

We ended the day with a quick run down to Wichita Falls because Panda Express FINALLY opened.  Until now, the only time we got to enjoy it was if we were in Oklahoma City or Lawton, which is a little out of the way for us.

I don't think I need to tell you how incredibly insane the place was.  It was packed inside with a huge line all the way to the door.  People were coming by, walking in and making a quick u turn and leaving.  We decided to go through the drive thru, and even that took a long time.  I think we were in line for 30 minutes and the cars were all the way around the corner.

I guess this is what happens when a much anticipated and wanted place comes to town.

Of course I ate, and ate and ate, which I always do when I get Panda Express.  I can't help it, I love it so much.  I had the chow mein, Kung Pao chicken and Beijing Beef.  Notice the pattern there?  Always go for the spicy stuff  Hahaha

June 17, 2017

Well, that was basically my Saturday.  Tomorrow there will be more yard work, more work on the gun for Jasmine's cosplay and I'm hoping some reading.  I have far too many review books and need to keep cracking on with those.

Right now though, I'm going to turn this computer off, watch my Ghost Adventures which thankfully is on the DVR, and then get some sleep.

Have a great night y'all!!!

{ The grass just keeps on growing }

_MG_6806

I don't think I've ever lived in a place where the grass grows so fast.  The rain is the culprit, obviously, but still, I've lived in places that got a lot of rain and it never grew like this....this is ridiculous.

We mowed the beginning of last week, and then it rained the rest of the week and now it looks like a jungle out there again.

_MG_6805

It's just gone berserk, all over.  I do love seeing a nice green grass but not when all we have is a push mower.

So, today we took the plunge and actually went to Aaron's to get a riding mower.  It's not something we wanted to do, and definitely not an expense we wanted to get into, but it's an investment for this house.  3 acres is a lot to do with just a push mower.

_MG_6804

Should be here in 5 to 7 days, and my husband is so excited about it.  It's like a Father's Day gift for him so he is very happy :)

_MG_6803

We also went out this morning to get my sister in law some birthday presents.

I always love going out with my husband. You know when the kids were little, I couldn't leave the house without them and I didn't really like leaving them with anyone either, so we went everywhere together.

As they got older, actually, after my husband retired from the Air Force, we had family living with us and so we started venturing out just the two of us.  We would go grocery shopping or check out the thrift stores, then went for breakfast or lunch.  I used to feel extremely guilty in the beginning, but we soon grew to enjoy these moments together and now I treasure every of these outings.

He makes me laugh, he makes me feel safe, I love him and I'm so glad that he is my husband.

The rest of the afternoon, we spent at my brother and sister in law's.  My sister in law's mom and aunt are arriving on Thursday, all the way from South Africa, and we went over to take one of our Futons for them to use.  Of course we always stay for a cup of coffee, some cookies and cake and a good chat and catch up.

Even though we live just down the street from each other, life gets so busy and by the time we realize it, it's been a week since we've seen each other.  It's good to sit down and visit

It's now just after 7pm and I'm sitting on the couch working on this post, watching Marley napping on the ground by my feet, and just basically watching crime shows on the TV until it's bedtime in about an hour and a half.

A good end to the weekend :)

By the way, I am feeling so much better today.  Before going to bed last night, I decided to do some sinus pressure massages to clear the sinus.  I didn't feel much at first, but within 20 minutes I started feeling the sinuses drain.  This morning I took Sudafed, Motrin and I also did a salt water and baking soda wash, snuffing up the water through the nostrils one at a time to clear it all out.

My word did that do a difference.  I can say that for the first time in a week, I wasn't dizzy or lightheaded and I can breathe so much better.  I think I'll continue doing what I did and hopefully kick this out completely, if not, then next week I'll go by the doctor and possibly get antibiotics.

Well friends, I don't really have anything more to share with you, so I'm going to go and finish off my 2008 Blog Book, watch some Hear No Evil, and then head to bed.

I'll be back in the morning with Happy Homemaker Monday and also Menu Plan Monday.  Hope to see you all then :)

{ Oh my gosh, can the allergies go away? }

Like, anytime now would be fine with me.

My word.  It's been pure hell the past month or two, and even worse when I'm out there having to mow.  I think I'm going to start using a face mask, it will definitely help.

I've been thinking it's Monday, all day long.  Whenever we have a holiday, it throws me off completely, so it's been a bit weird thinking of today as Tuesday.  Anyone else ever get that feeling?

We had a quiet Monday, the hubby and I actually mowed the whole back yard, which was a lot of work, and of course, the pollen, grass and dust being thrown around made me miserable.  Not to mention, I got bit over and over by the mosquitoes, even though I sprayed myself down with insect repellent.  Those little buggers just love me.

_MG_6624

_MG_6626

But the job was done and it looks a million times better.  Of course we're expecting rain starting Thursday so it will all start growing super fast again LOL  It's a never ending cycle isn't it?

I did half the yard and then Curt took over, and while he did that, I prepared us some lunch.

_MG_6613

One of our go to summer lunches, are the Asian Beef Wraps.  They're so easy to put together and are not only filling, delicious but also quite healthy.  You can find the recipe over on my food blog.

_MG_6621

I also went ahead and got the dishes all done, you can see the steam from the dishwasher coming over the counter.

_MG_6616

After lunch, we finished off the yard and then I was able to sit on the couch and actually get cracking with some crochet. I've missed it, haven't been able to do anything for a few weeks as we got busy with end of school, tests, graduations and so forth.

I've picked up my Nuts About Squares blanket again, the crochet along is already on Week 9 but I'm so far behind. I was still on week 4, so quickly caught up on the last square for that week and then moved on to Week 5, which I managed to finish today.

_MG_6622

Below you ca see my ever growing pile of squares for the blanket.  And at the very top, is the beginning of the Atlanticus CAL.  Don't ask, apparently I don't learn and just jump right into whatever crochet along catches my eye.

_MG_6634

I've decided to go with the same color scheme that I used for my Blooming Flower Cushion that I made many years ago.  I don't have much of the yarn left, so I'm basically just going row by row until I run out, at that point, I'll try to find more of the same yarn, but if I can't then I may turn it into another cushion.

Truth be told, I have a very big cushion collection at this point hahah

_MG_6630

I did a little more mowing today, out front, but again got bitten relentlessly by mosquitoes and the assaulted by allergens so after about 40 minutes, I gave up.  I'll start again in the morning.  It will take me a few days, but it will get done.

_MG_6636

I just wish the allergies weren't so annoying because I do love spending time outside.

Oh I wanted to tell you as well, I watched Lucy Worsley's newest documentary called Jane Austen:  Behind Closed Doors.

If you're a Jane Austen fan, such as I, you'll want to watch it.  It was a fascinating look at her life, the places she visited and lived in, the homes, the publishers and so on.  You can find it on Youtube, if you wish to watch it.

Aside from that, I also have been reading and enjoying It Takes One to Tango.  Honestly when I first got the book I wasn't sure if I wanted to read it, it's all about marriages in trouble and how to fix it and so on.  My husband and I have a pretty good marriage, and yes we do have fights like every other couple but I wasn't really thinking we were needing any sort of help.

The thing is, this book is helping me realize that there are certain things that I should be doing to better the marriage and it's also explaining a lot.  I won't say anymore, because it is after all a review book and I'll have plenty to say then, but just wanted to share that I'm enjoying reading it.

I think if anything, it also has to do with the fact that I seem to have found my love for reading again.  Would you believe me if I told you it had been years?  The last time I sat and read a book was actually back in Idaho right after Curt retired, that was 2013, crazy.

Well friends, I am sitting here in bed with my Marley and I'm finishing this post, then watching some Everybody Loves Raymond with hubby until 10pm and going to sleep.  It's our nightly routine and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Oh and speaking of Marley, it reminded me that Lulu asked why I never talk about our other dog Bella.  It's not because of any other reason than, she's my husband's dog and doesn't really spend any time with me.  Marley is with me all day long, he's my dog and so I have a bigger bond with him.

I WILL take some pictures of Bella tomorrow and share them with you all, I know you guys haven't seen her in a while.  She's very old now and spends most of the day sleeping :)

Alright, it's time for me to get going.  Have a blessed night.
