{ Thank you all }

It never ceases to amaze me, just how close knit the blogging world can be, that when someone is in need of prayer they can always count on numerous bloggers stepping in.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart, your comments on my Prayer request mean the world to me and to my brother and sister in law.

My brother let me know that Anastacia is doing better, she is still in the hospital and will be there for at least 3 days so they can monitor her and make sure she's ok since by the time they got the battery it had been burning her all the way down her intestines. Poor baby.

They're staying hopeful and positive and they are definitely feeling all the prayers and the love coming from all over, they're extremely thankful to you all.

The above picture is of my little baby girl in the hospital, it was taken by my other sister in law, Lilian. So thank you Lilian.

Again, I appreciate every single one of you who took the time to say a prayer and to pass it on to your family and friends. Thank You!

FRIED CHICKEN & MILK GRAVY

credit: Gooseberry Patch Homestyle Family Favorites

If you prefer you can substitute chicken breasts, sliced in half lengthwise so they'll cook quicker.

1 c. plus 1/4 c. all-purpose flour, divided
1 1/4 t. dried thyme
3/4 t. onion powder
3/4 t. seasoning salt
3/4 t. pepper, divided
8 chicken thighs or drumsticks
2/3 c. buttermilk
2 to 4 T. oil
1 t. chicken bouillon granules
1 1/2 c. milk

Combine 1 cup flour, thyme, onion powder, salt and 1/2 t. pepper in a large plastic zipping bag. Add chicken to bag, one or 2 pieces at a time; shake to coat well. Dip chicken into buttermilk, return to bag and shake to coat.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and saute 15 minutes, turning to cook evenly until golden.

Reduce heat to medium-low. Cook, uncovered, 35 to 40 minutes or until chicken is tender and juices run clear when chicken is pierced with a fork.

Remove chicken to paper towel, reserving drippings; cover chicken to keep warm. Stir bouillon, remaining flour and remaining pepper into skillet drippings, scraping up any browned bits. Add milk.

Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly; cook and stir one more minute. Serve hot gravy over chicken. Serves 4.

{ Prayers please }

I know I haven't been blogging much but I had to come in and ask for prayers for my beautiful niece Anastacia.

Last night she swallowed a watch battery and had to be taken into surgery this morning to remove it, unfortunately it had already caused damage to her intestines and bowels, she's in a lot of pain and being kept in the hospital as they're worried that more damage may have been done.

I ask you to please pray for my baby girl and for my brother Bruno and my sister in law Nadine, they are beyond worried and scared.

Please!

{ Happy Homemaker Monday - August 2 }

You know, this thing of being on different time zones is just so frustrating. I apologize for those on the East Coast who have to wait so long for this post to go up, I really should start setting it up the night before.

The weather in my neck of the woods:
We had quite a bit of rain the past few days and I loved every single minute of it. Looks like today we're back to blue skies, at least for now, maybe more rain this afternoon.

Looking forward to this week:
Mommy Corner in the mornings. My friends and I usually drop the kids off at school and then stay and chat for a while, it feels good to have mommy conversations and I've missed that this summer.

Tips and Tricks:
Stains from fruit (including wine and tomato sauce) on washable fabrics disappear instantly when you pour boiling water over them in a bowl or basin.

Lesson learned the past few days:

Align CenterThat I can't be there for my family and take care of things around the house, if I'm not taking care of myself. I'm no good to anyone if I'm unwell, so I need to constantly remind myself to take time out, to relax and to make myself better so that I can be the wife and mom my family needs and deserves.

On my mind:
School starting on the 9th

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
"In the day of my trouble I will call to you,
for you will answer me."
Psalm (86:7)

{ I wish..... }

2010_08010055

that I wasn't feeling so poorly.

There's been lots of resting around here with high hopes of regaining my health quickly, so that I can return to the things I love doing.....like crocheting, and blogging, and cooking, and reading.

I do feel like I'm getting a little better and I think the time away from the computer has really helped, sometimes you just have to take a step back, put everything else on the back burner and focus on YOU.

In the meantime, while I slowly get back to normal, I've been enjoying a lot of this around here.
