Day 40

Happy Homemaker Monday #26

I want to start by thanking  each and every one of you, for the prayers and support you threw my way after the last post I made.  

We are doing ok right now, I'm showering my girl with lots of lot and attention and reminding her that we love her more than anything in this world, that she's not alone, and that she does not need to listen to what society tells her.  That above all, she is a child of God. 

We have spent the past two days having very long conversations about everything and anything in this world.  She's growing up, she has questions, I have answers.   Our family is pulling together as ONE, even with daddy away, and we are going to do whatever it takes to make things better.  Nothing worse than seeing your child in emotional pain or thinking they are worthless.  

But moving on, here is today's Happy Homemaker Monday.....and I do hope it is a happy Monday for you all :)

The Weather:::

90 degrees, blue skies.   The rain we had the other day seems to have cool down the weather a bit and for that alone I'm very happy.   

On my reading pile:::

With what has been going on around here, I haven't been able to get much reading done, but I do have a book review going up later today. 
I also started the Beverly Lewis "The Fiddler", but so far it hasn't really grabbed my attention, which is very weird since I'm such a huge Lewis fan.

On my tv:::

I have three episodes of Starlings to catch up on
The first episode of The Hollow Crown...Richard II, you can watch online here.   And I'm sure the second one is already up too.

On the menu for this week:::

Monday -  Chicken Salad Tuesday -  Pasta with Sausage and Broccoli
Wednesday - Homemade Calzones
Thursday - Breakfast for dinner
Friday -  Hubby will be home for dinner, we are ordering pizza
Saturday - Out for the day
Sunday  -  Ribs, Baked Potatoes, Corn

Homemaking Tips:::

Here's a simple recipe for some homemade eyeglass cleaner.

Empty travel sized spray bottle
Rubbing alcohol
Liquid dish soap
Water

Fill the spray bottle 3/4 full with rubbing alcohol. Add two small drops of dish soap.
Fill the bottle the rest of the way up with tap water. If you have really hard water you might want to consider using distilled water instead. A gallon of distilled water costs less than $1.
Place the lid on the container and shake gently. If you shake it too hard the dish soap will become too sudsy.
Use the finished product the same way you would use any eyeglasses cleaner. After spraying the solution on the lenses of the glasses, wipe gently with a soft cloth. (credit:  creativehomemaking.com)

Kids just got up, they're laying on the couch in their pj's just half asleep.  I have my back door open and can hear the sounds of the landscaping people mowing a yard somewhere and using the leaf blower.  My dishwasher is running in the background and my pugs are sitting at my feet.

Military wife friends who also have their husbands gone at the moment.

Dear God, help my daughter today, at home, at school, at work, at play,
to be your faithful follower.
Help her to keep her body well and strong.
Help her to show loving-kindness and to be helpful and courteous
at home or wherever she may be.
Give her patience and purity and truth, and make her heart a place of peace.
If things seem to go wrong with her, help her to be good-tempered and cheerful
at all times, sunny hearted, joyous, unselfish.
Dear God, who watches over her, help her
to grow in goodness, and step by step to gentle womanhood. Amen.

I feel like I can't breathe

I can't go into details and I don't want to either because it's a personal.

But I am in need of prayers for our family and especially for our 13 year old Jasmine.  It's not a sickness or anything of that kind, but we need prayers, SHE needs prayers.

If you have teens you know how hard it is for them, they're not little kids, they're not adults, they're in that in between moment of hormones and trying to figure out life and peer pressure etc.

So again, I can't give out specific details but I need all the prayers I can get right now for my girl.

Day 39

Not feeling very well today, so the pictures are very few.

I've been spending the day with a hot water bottle, motrin and some hot tea.....and chocolate, lots of chocolate. :)
