{ Snow Day }
Good morning friends, well, guess what, we actually had a snow day. A proper, schools closed, businesses closed, base closed and no one on the streets, kinda snow day.
The snow started coming down on Tuesday night, big fluffy snowflakes drifting down from the sky.
I figured it would be the usual snowfall in Texas, practically a bunch of white flakes come down, hit the ground and within an hour it's all gone and melted.
Curt and Nick made their way outside and had an absolute blast. Marley had never seen snow and was a bit apprehensive at first, he wasn't quite sure what to make of any of it, but the minute he stepped onto the fresh soft snow, there was no holding him back.
It was pure joy to see how happy he was playing in the big yard. He ran, he explored, he chased snowballs and jumped between the two boys. It was the sweetest thing to see.
As I stood watching them from the doorway, snapping pictures with the camera, I looked at my son who is about to turn 17 and thought about him as a young boy back in Arizona.
Every December we would travel to Flagstaff, go get a Christmas tree, play in the snow and just have a wonderful time. Watching him yesterday, made me miss those days so very much.
It reminded me that time goes by so quick. What I wouldn't give to have my children be little again, to be enjoying all of these little moments with them, seeing their happy faces in the snow playing.
Though it may not have been exactly the same, I enjoyed watching father and son out there having fun, building snowmen, playing catch with Marley and just being.
This morning, the snow prevails, though it is starting to melt slowly. Curt doesn't report to work until 1pm, but Jasmine goes in at 11, so we are getting ready to take her, warming up the truck, scraping off all that snow and making sure the driveway is safe to drive.
We may not have snow like this until next year, or maybe not even then, and as short as this storm was, we have loved every minute.
There is something magical about being indoors, watching the big snowflakes coming down and seeing the whole world before you turning to a blanket of white. It's gorgeous!

We have not had snow this year. I have certainly missed it though! Sounds like a great day!!
I love your snow day! Dogs in snow are so much fun, and I love your reflection of memories when your children were little. Such sweet moments.
We live in 'Snow Country' so I love these photos!
Myself, I prefer to watch snow fall, from inside a cozy home of course. But that's logical, at me age. -smile-
Don't like ice, but here, we need snow cover, in winter. Have not had enough of it, for awhile but are catching up now.
