{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 04/25/2022 }

Good morning everyone, welcome back to my blog, and to our Happy Homemaker Monday!

I hope you've all had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was good, albeit yesterday a bit rushed between church and a birthday lunch.  Speaking of birthday's, the lunch was for our daughter Jasmine who is turning 23 years old today.  23!!!!

Like, how is that even possible?  Nick just turned 19 two weeks ago, and now the little girl who made us parents, is turning 23.  I am not quite ready for any of this, but it's not like I can turn back time, so onward we go.

I've had a pretty stressful week, culminating in my mom being taken by ambulance to the nursing home she will now be in.  It's a lot, it was stressful, and knowing that I am thousands of miles away and not able to be there in person helping, is so hard.  But, it will be ok, God is watching over it all.

Alright, let's get going with our post for today.  I really am hoping to put a few more posts up.  I know I keep saying it, and it's always with the best of intentions and then life interferes.  It's actually funny in a sense, how much more busier life is for me now that my children are fully grown, than when they were young and needing my full attention.

Have a wonderful blessed weekend, friends!!!

♥♥ The Weather ♥♥
One word......WINDS!!!  Still!!!  We have also had pretty hot weather, and even got very much welcomed rain yesterday.  Winds!!!  Really strong winds.  I don't remember ever dealing with these kind of winds before, it's a bit strange.  Other than that, we have had beautiful weather.

Monday -  Wind and sunny skies,71
Tuesday - Sunny, 74
Wednesday - Partly cloudy, 78
Thursday - Partly cloudy/wind, 85
Friday - Thunderstorms/wind, 89
Saturday - Sunny, 86
Sunday - Partly cloudy, 84

♥♥  As I look outside my window ♥♥
Green, green and more green.  I love Spring and seeing the trees turning from brown to vibrant green.  We never really pay attention to just how beautiful they are, during the late spring and summer days, but this shift from bare branches and boring brown to vibrant green produced by thousands of tiny leaves, always leaves me in awe.

♥♥  Right now I am ♥♥
As always, I work on these posts while sitting on my bed.  Kaia is asleep next to me, Elliott was but has since left.

♥♥  Thinking and pondering ♥♥
About my mom.  We don't have a relationship, and I've never really talked about it here, but she is my mom and I love her and care about her well being.  She is not well at the moment, and I just saw a video of her at the nursing home and broke into tears.  It was a shock to see her so frail.

♥♥  How am I feeling ♥♥
Heading into that time of the month, that should say overall how I'm feeling  Hahahah
Also, really tired this morning, both Curt and I.  Remember I said I use Alexa from Amazon to play rain or thunderstorm sounds while we sleep?  She woke us up at 4:30 am  with a weird sound over the thunderstorms, it almost sounded like something on fire?  It was a crackling sound we couldn't understand.  We turned off the sleep sounds but then Kaia was ready to go potty and so started our day.

♥♥  On the breakfast plate ♥♥
I've had a humongous cup of coffee with sweet cream creamer.  I am thinking of having some eggs and toast in about an hour.

♥♥  Looking around the house  ♥♥
Have the usual daily cleaning to do, plus some vacuuming and dusting.  There are a few bags on the dining table, that Jasmine left on there last night when she got home from work, so I need to put those away.

Aside from that, I do hope to get a little carpet cleaning done.  New puppy......and I think that's all I need to say on that.  She's still learning potty training, so she has a few accidents inside, and I'm so thankful for a good carpet cleaner, because we immediately clean it.  But, I still want to run it over the whole carpet in the living room and office area.

♥♥  To Do List ♥♥
-  Vacuum and dust, also carpet clean living room
-  Water the veggies out on the back porch
-  Do a load of laundry
-  Make Jasmine's Birthday cake
-  Start meal plan

♥♥  From the camera  ♥♥
I have a new recipe for your all, just need some time to get it on the blog.  I won't be able to today, but hoping for tomorrow.

This is a 4 milk cake, very similar to the Tres Leches cake which is a 3 milk, this one has one more, which is coconut milk.  It is to die for and I think you will all really enjoy it.

♥♥  Devotional  ♥♥
Yes it is so easy to complain.  It is so easy to forget the daily blessings that fall down on each of us.  Our readiness to complain is another argument for the forgiving and rescuing grace that Jesus, without complaint, willingly died to give us.

Sorry to hear that your mom is ill. It seemingly takes a toll on us even if we aren't close to them. Maybe it's just because they birthed us. Happy Birthday to your daughter.

So sorry to hear of your Mom. We have this in common. My Mom and I have very little in common and our relationship was always chit chat but nothing serious or personal. She just was not into her family and would rather spend her time with her social circle than us. My Mom has been in a home for one year and it has been quite a roller coaster ride. None of her social or church circle comes to see her and neither does family as they have not ever had a relationship with her. I allowed it all to get to me and I went into a deep depression. I finally had to start saying no to those in my circle that drain me. There was no more energy left for me at the end of the day. I was starting to fail at everything. So I cut my list in half, my circle in half, and my responsibilities in half. Now I can feel my body and mind getting healthier. These winds have been so strong that I almost needed goggles to sit outside! Hang in there and take care of yourselves, save some energy for good times. ~jackie~

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JASMINE! I CANNOT believe that your sweet little pixie is 23!

Keeping you, your mom and family in my prayers. It is so stressful to be so far away and unable to see to her personally.

Your weather looks nice temperature wise, I just hope the winds die down! Have a WONDERFUL week.

Wow, Jasmine is 23? What on earth? LOL. Time does march on no matter how we want to slow it down. Happy Birthday to her. Sorry about your Mom. It's so stressful even if you are not close in relationship.

Hello. I am so very sorry to hear about your mom. And yes. How in the world do our babies become adults in the blink of an eye? My oldest is 25! Keeping you in my prayers for all your intentions.
