{ Cooking Thursday - April 7 }

Another Thursday, another great recipe round up.
I just wanted to take a few moments to thank you all for joining in and for always sharing such amazing recipes, I've made a lot of them and I love them and so does the family.  So again, thank you for taking the time to join in every Thursday :)

Now on to the recipe for today:

Fried Chicken Strips

Fried Chicken Strips

1lb chicken breasts or about 4 or 5
buttermilk
salt and pepper
parsley
garlic powder
paprika
flour

Cut the chicken breasts into 1 inch thick strips.  Season with salt and pepper, parsley, garlic powder, paprika.

Pour buttermilk over just enough to cover the chicken and pop in the fridge until dinner time.  (if you forget to do this in the morning, it's fine, trust me, just put it all together but let it sit for a few minutes at least).

Put some flour into a ziploc bag and toss in the chicken strips one at a time, shake bag to coat well.

Fry the chicken strips in a deep fryer for about 5 or 6 minutes or until golden brown.  Remove, keep warm while you cook the others.  When they're all done, slice a lemon in half and squeeze some of the juice onto the chicken, you don't want too much but just enough to give it taste.  Alternatively, you can just serve with lemon slices and let your family or friends do it themselves.

Quick, simple and so good.
