{ Waiting on winter storm to arrive }

It is almost 7pm, and the sleet pellets have started coming down outside.  The click click click smacking against the bedroom windows, let me know that the storm is pulling in to our area.

We have been under a Winter Watch since this morning, expecting snow with an accumulation of 14 inches.

Will it really hit us as hard as they are expecting, or will this be another one of those times where we are told snow is coming in and we get nothing but a small dusting that disappears just as quickly as it hits the ground?

Woke up this morning to really cold weather, it was 30 degrees but the real feel was 27, and yes it really was that cold.  I opened the door to let Marley go potty, he took one look outside, sniffed the cold air and made a beeline back inside.  Hahahah

With a little coaxing he did go out and use the bathroom, but I don't blame him, coming from a warm house into that frigid smack in the face, is not fun at all.

Jasmine had work today and so I got her off, came home, changed into some warm pajama pants and got the housework done real quick.

I don't even know how I managed to get through my day without nodding off to sleep.  Last night was one of those nights for me.  It was close to 80 degrees yesterday and got so warm in the house that we had to turn the overhead fan on above the bed, but then within 10 minutes your arm is frozen so off the fan goes again.

10 minutes later you are sweating, so guess what?  On goes the fan again, and we repeat this process over and over until one of us is sick of this fan dance, or has fallen asleep at which point it doesn't matter whether you're hot or cold.

The hard part is when you don't fall asleep.  Like me last night.

Curt and Marley slept peacefully next to me, taking turns snoring, while I spent all night.....and I'm not exaggerating, it was all.night.....tossing and turning, or laying in the dark staring off into space willing the sleep to come.

I didn't have to pick up Jasmine since she got off at the same time as Curt, and he grabbed her for me.  I stayed home, worked on my blog to book for 2019 and got our dinner going.

Tonight was Lasagna which is always a favorite around here.

I also got things ready for the incoming winter storm.  You're probably wondering what I mean by that, and it's nothing more than making sure outside furniture is packed away nicely, windows are closed, nothing is left out that could be ruined, cleaned out the fireplace and got more wood brought in and ready for a fire to be lit when needed.

There isn't much else that needs doing when waiting to see if a winter storm arrive with the severity it is expected to.

All schools in the area are closed for tomorrow, along with a ton of businesses.  Jasmine is still scheduled to work but we will have to see how it looks in the morning before deciding whether it is safe enough to drive her.

Curt on the other hand is not working tomorrow as they've already shut down our base until further notice.

It's all so strange when you've just had two days in a row of 80's temperatures and beautiful blue skies, but such is this crazy Texas weather.

I do love snow though so I'll be waiting to see what I wake up to, and yes, I'll show you in tomorrow's post.

For now though, I'm off to check that all windows are closed and doors are locked, as the sleeting rain is intensifying outside.

Wow, those are extreme temperatures. You sound busy and organized. That's too bad that you are having trouble sleeping. Your lasagna sounds like it was delicious!
