{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 03/16/2020 }

Good morning friends.

I hope you are all doing well, staying healthy and not panicking with our current situation.  I wish there was something I could say to take away the fear, but unfortunately there isn't.

I just want you to remember to stay aware, wash your hands, take the necessary precautions, but please, don't panic, don't let fear take over and above all, pray.

I apologize for the lack of posts last week, it was a busy one, it was also a week of dealing with a puppy that wasn't feeling very well, which resulted in a trip to the vet and being on steroids the next 10 days.  That's the life of a pet owner, right?  He is now doing much better, but not quite 100% yet.

Anyway, let's get right into our Happy Homemaker Monday.

I wish you all a blessed, safe week.  If you are quarantined, make the most of your time, read that book you've been wanting to read, watch that movie you still haven't had time to watch, play games with your family, go outside and smell the fresh air.  Take this as a moment to reflect, slow down and relax.

♥♥The Weather♥♥
It is so dark and foggy outside.  We have a full week of storms, some mid week will actually be quite severe.  As much as I love a good rain, when it's relentless and non stop, it's a bit depressing hahahah
I think I'm just really looking forward to getting my seeds in the ground, but haven't yet had a chance and with the constant rain it makes it a bit difficult to garden.

Anyway, looking forward to sun, but for now, this is what we have going on.

Monday - PM showers, 64
Tuesday - Thunderstorms, 65
Wednesday - PM thunderstorms, 78
Thursday - AM Thunderstorms, 72
Friday - Mostly sunny/wind, 51
Saturday -  Mostly cloudy, 51
Sunday - Showers, 51

♥♥How I am feeling this morning♥♥
A bit tired.  Marley has given us a lot of work since Thursday and we've been non stop with him.  I did mention on Instagram what happened, but basically he had an upset tummy last week, and Thursday morning {4am} he was out practically all night with diarrhea but then started struggling to go potty and his little thing popped out and wouldn't go back in.
We could only get him into the vet at 10am, so he spent a good 6 hours without being able to rectract his privates.

I didn't even know this was a thing that happened to male dogs, but vet said it's quite common.  He checked him out, said he was doing very well and healthy, but gave him a steroid shot to take down the swelling and pain and allow it to retract, then prescribed steroids for the next 10 days.

The thing is that the steroids cause increased urination and thirst and so we've been literally trying to get him out the door in time.  Because of the swelling, his urine flow was diminished as well, which means until he is completely healed, he struggles to go potty.  We've had a couple accidents in the house, because he can't hold it in long enough to get out, he has been drinking bowls and bowls of water every day.

Anyway, it's been a rough few days but he is doing much better, and as we taper off the steroids the water drinking and increase urination will slow down.

♥♥On my mind♥♥
The whole world as we deal with this Coronavirus.

♥♥On the breakfast plate♥♥
So far just my cup of coffee, and then I'm not really sure, but I'll eat something around 9am.

♥♥On my reading pile♥♥
Still reading Light Changes Everything from Nancy E. Turner and The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley, for a book review.

♥♥On my tv♥♥
Friends, I have not watched anything this past week, aside from random vlogs here and there.  I don't know if I'll have time this week to catch up on anything, I am hoping I do but we will see.

Tuesday - Sheet Pan Pizza
Wednesday - Arroz de Salsicha (Cheesy Sausage Rice), steamed broccoli
Thursday -  Slow Cooker Parmesan Chicken, Egg Noodles, Fried Zucchini and Squash

♥♥From the camera♥♥
Love Spring time, the birds are all out.  We always have a plethora of Cardinals around.

♥♥Looking around the house♥♥
It is almost 8am and still so dark in the house.  The only light on is my TV in the background and the bedside lamp.

In the living room I have a clothes rack with Jasmine's laundry drying, I hope it dried completely.  My new dryer, which we purchased only 2 years ago, has suddenly decided not to dry the clothes and is not heating up at all.  I have no clue what is wrong.

You all know I usually hang my clothes to dry anyway, but it's been raining non stop for days and this week is the same kind of weather, so drying clothes would have been done in the dryer.  I'm just going to have to hang it on the racks, and leave them in the living room drying.

♥♥Chore I'm not looking forward to today, or this week♥♥
Not really a particular one, aside from the constant carpet cleaning with Marley's bathroom accidents.

♥♥To relax this week, I will♥♥
Read, hopefully catch up on some tv.  However, this week is quite a busy one again, I'll be driving Jasmine back and forth to work, every day.

♥♥On my prayer list♥♥
* The President, our country.
* The world.  I pray for this virus situation to get under control soon, for people not to panic, for people to come together, to stop being selfish and to think of others.
* Praying for the elderly and those with weak immune systems, who are the most at risk for this virus, and in those fall my mother in law who has cancer, and my father in law who just had heart surgery a few weeks ago.

♥♥Devotional/Bible Verse♥♥
From today's Charles Spurgeon morning devotional.

"To me remains nor place, nor time:
My country is in every clime;
I can be calm and free from care
On any shore, since God is there.
While place we seek, or place we shun,
The soul finds happiness in none:
But with a God to guide our way,
'Tis equal joy to go or stay."

Glad Marley is on the mend. Hope the dryer is an easy fix, bet your living rooms smells great though with all that fresh laundry drying out. Praying this virus is under control sooner than later and for the health of those most at risk. Have a wonderful week!

So sorry to hear Marley is feeling poorly, poor little guy! GREAT advice on dealing with the current situation. I pray everyone calms down and just thinks rationally with dealing with this. Personally, I'm just staying busy with projects here at home and have sequestered myself out of the fray of it all. Have a good week and stay healthy.

Poor Marley. He sounds pitiful, but I'm glad you're there to take care of him.

Sorry about the broken dryer and the rainy weather. That has got to be tough!

We're sequestered as well, with schools, libraries, and many restaurants and businesses shutting down. I'm going to try to be as optimistic as you are this week, and try to enjoy the calm. I hope Marley recovers quickly and that you have a wonderful week!
