{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 02/22/2021 }

Good morning, and a very Happy Monday to you all!

How was your weekend?  I sure hope you were able to get a lot of family time in, and also were able to relax and get ready for the new week ahead.

Our weekend was spent cleaning up after the snow storm.  The amount of dead birds we have found, is quite heartbreaking.  I will be honest, I can't dispose of them, I don't have the heart to, so Curt does it for me.

Thankfully, all the snow is now gone, the streets are now safe to drive, and our grocery stores are starting to get shipments in.  Thank God!

Anyway, I'm hoping to get a few blog posts done this week, and I would love to finally make it over to my food blog and update it as well.  Fingers crossed.

Have a blessed week friends and thank you once again for stopping by and participating.

♥♥The Weather♥♥
Here in Texas, we are all very glad to see the snow behind us, and are very much looking forward to our normal temperatures.  This week brings quite a bit of rain, and I do love rain so looking forward to that.

Monday - Sunny, 62
Tuesday -  Mostly sunny, 71
Wednesday - Mostly sunny and windy, 54
Thursday -  PM showers, 45
Friday - AM showers, 56
Saturday -  PM showers, 62
Sunday -  AM thunderstorms, 60

♥♥How I am feeling this morning♥♥
Exhausted.  My insomnia has been so bad lately.  I would love to lay down, fall asleep and stay asleep all night.  But mostly I fall asleep, and in two hours I'm awake and can't get back to sleep.  It's frustrating.

 ♥♥On the breakfast plate♥♥
Just a cup of coffee right now, not hungry at all, so not sure what I'll have later.

♥♥On my reading pile♥♥
Ezequiel book in the Bible.
My daily devotional book.
Cilka's Journey
All Creatures Great and Small
(my reading list hasn't changed the past few weeks, as I haven't been reading as much as I usually do)

 ♥♥On my tv♥♥
Portuguese Soaps, Bem Me Quer and Amor Amor
Watched the documentary on the Cecil Hotel and Elisa Lam, on Netflix.  Also watched Night Stalker and a few other crime documentaries.

♥♥On the menu this week♥♥

Monday - Baked Potato Soup, Homemade Bread Bowls
Tuesday - Bacon Spaghetti, Salad, Garlic Bread
Wednesday - Korean Beef Bowl, Basmati rice
Thursday - Basil Chicken with Egg Noodles, Steamed Broccoli
Friday - Cheesy Tater Tot Casserole, Fried Cabbage
Saturday - Homemade Pizza and movie night
Sunday - Grilled Bratwurst, Potato Salad

♥♥From the camera♥♥
Elliott is getting so big, and he is finally starting to calm down too.  My plants especially appreciate this.  Hahah

I just love watching him play.  One of his favorite toys?  A ball of aluminum foil that he throws around, drags around and has so much fun with.  He will play with it for an hour or more at a time.

♥♥Looking around the house♥♥
It is still dark outside but the sun is starting to rise.  Marley is asleep on the couch next to me, my husband is about to walk out the door to work.  Kids are sleeping, but Jasmine will be up for work soon, and Elliott is laying by the back door watching the birds on the feeder.

I need to give the house a good deep clean, so I'll be sitting down today to work on a list, so I can tackle each room during the week.

♥♥To relax this week, I will♥♥
Read and crochet, as always, but I'm just going to throw in a couple naps, if I can.  I have never been a napper, never napped, always felt like they made me super cranky.  But with my insomnia lately, I need them to be able to function, so hopefully, if I have time, I will try to get in a quick nap in between homemaking chores or homeschooling.

♥♥Something I want to share♥♥
Bringing you another video from the channel The Lime Tree.  This one is called Country Life A Food with Fruit of Paradise Fesenjoon.  Hope you enjoy :)

♥♥Devotional, inspirational, prayer list or Bible verse♥♥
Encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory. - 1 Thessalonians 2:12

♥ Praying for my sister in law, she lost her uncle yesterday.  He had been sick for a long time and went home to the Lord yesterday afternoon.

I'm so glad the snow is behind you and the temperatures are returning to normal! So sorry about all the birds and devastation that the storm brought to Texas - keeping everyone in my prayers as the clean up proceeds. Sounds like a good wet weather week menu. What an adorable picture of Elliott - Sady had all sorts of toys, but her favorite was always when you crumpled up a piece of paper and tossed it for her to chase, and chase she would amusing herself for quite some time. Have a blessed week my friend.

Welcome to menopause, haha! When I worked, I would think about "things" almost every night. It's been 13 years since I worked outside the home AND still dream about work!!! If only what we think about what to do inside and outside the home, could be accomplished, it would be amazing and free up a lot of time. What no more prayers for Our President, let alone all you poor souls out there in Texas and those lost due to Covid? And, sorry for your recent family loss.

Mine goes through phases but it's been so bad the past month. I just feel tired all the time. Thank you for your prayers, we appreciate them.

Have a blessed Monday :)

Thank you for the prayers my friend, they are very much appreciated. We had people in our church affected, some went over 60 hours with no power.

Isn't it funny how the pets seem to like the oddest toys? hahah

Have a wonderful blessed week :)

It's crazy how bad the hormones affect us. I never would have linked insomnia to menopause, and was quite shocked when my doctor told me it was one of the symptoms. lol

I didn't mention my usual prayers, but yes, I am most definitely praying daily for the President, the new administration, our nation, all of us here in Texas (we have church members who were affected), and yes I pray for those lost due to Covid, I've lost a few friends here in the USA and in South Africa too.

I talked about this on my Instagram a few weeks ago, because as Christians our job is to pray for everyone, every President, every administration. I always have and I always will :)

And thank you, it's never easy when a family member dies, no matter how much we prepare for it or know that they are sick.

Have a blessed week :)

Glad to see you are getting warmer weather. We are too thankfully. It's going to be a muddy mess, but glad we are thawing out.

Been thinking of you all down there. Must be very hard to be finding dead birds. And I'm so sorry for your sister's loss. On a lighter note, cats are funny aren't they? One of our cat's all time favorite toys is a nerf dart. She used to steal them from the boys' rooms when they were younger. Hope you have a nice week and the weather and condition of things only continues to improve.

I’ve been struggling with sleep as well here. It’s not insomnia, thank God but more like I just can’t get enough of it. I miss having energy.

I’m so sorry for your sister in laws loss.

Enjoy the warmer weather and the sunshine this week!
