{ Wiglington and Wenks Giveaway }

Last week I was contacted by Adrian from Wiglington and Wenks, asking me if I would like to review their website and do a giveaway for my viewers.

After taking a peek at the Wiglington and Wenks Virtual World website, I immediately told Adrian I would love to review it and do the giveaway.....why? Because it's an online game for the kids but it's not like the others you see around the web.

The Travels of Wiglington and Wenks Virtual World is an exciting massive online virtual world for kids where players can travel to places around the world, through time and space, meet famous historical people, play fun enriching games, make new friends own exotic islands, build culture-inspired houses, wear all kinds of cool clothing and costumes, explore secret locations, solve ancient mysteries and become a legendary traveler. You can follow this link to view a video presentation

Here are Some Highlights on Wiglington and Wenks

- Wiglington and Wenks is one of the fastest growing virtual worlds for kids, having just launched recently during Christmas Eve 2009 but to date already garnered more than 70,000 registered users from more than 150 countries
- Wiglington and Wenks is the only virtual world which allows kids to travel and explore locations around the world probably currently the most massive virtual world for kids, with more than 200 virtual world scenes scheduled to launch by the end of 2010 (http://features.wiglingtonandwenks.com/locations.html)

- Wiglington and Wenks is an educational virtual world game that allows kids to learn about famous historical people, countries, environmental issues, countries, inventions, plants, animals and more

- Wiglington and Wenks has received rave reviews and accolades from important websites, parents, educators and kids (http://news.wiglingtonandwenks.com). Here are some of them -

“In Wiglington and Wenks, kids are regaled with facts as they travel to different locations in the world. The game will appeal to kids who love adventure and to kids who enjoy exploration and discovery games.” - 4 star rating from Common Sense Media

Despite being a newly launched virtual world (December 2009), Wiglington and Wenks was nominated as one of the top 5 virtual worlds for kids by the readers of About.com, currently topping other established sites like Club Penguin.
“Wiglington and Wenks is so much more than your standard virtual world, it has a rich story line with well developed characters, plot, mystery, and quests. Students are dropped into the story and invited to participate, learning through exploration, problem solving, and critical thinking.” - Winner of the Edublog Award 2009

In this game the children are learning as they play, the goal of the game is to find the lost Historical figures and help them regain their memories, by finding different items associated with them.

I signed up for free and so did my two kiddos who are 7 and 11 years old.

We spent 4 hours on Friday night playing together and having an absolutely blast. It was so much fun traveling to all these places together, we went to Australia, Madagascar, Brazil, United States, United Kingdom and Singapore.

You have the option to make it where your children are not allowed to chat with anyone at all, or you can do safe chat. So I like that you can control the amount of interaction they can have with other players online, which to me is key with the craziness that we see going on around the internet.

There are fun emotes like laughing or sitting and there's also water balloon throwing, which was a blast LOL The kids enjoyed plowing me with water balloons, here's my character getting one right in the face.

I think one of the things I most like about this game is the interactive ability to learn as they have fun. Pretty much every object that you click on will bring up a window with some fun fact or information.
