Making the ordinary, beautiful!

2013_05060001

Well hello friends, come on in and sit with me a while.

I just got done doing the dinner dishes and cleaning the kitchen. I've taken my shower and I'm in my comfy pjs, just relaxing while hubby is off at class.

I do so like this time of day, everything is starting to slow down, the sun is starting to set, there's not a huge rush of cars up and down the street on their way to work or appointments.

What a beautiful day it has been. Our temperatures have dipped a little, and we're supposed to be getting some rain, but I'm not quite sure if that will come to fruition, we shall see.

The best days are those where you can open the windows and let the fresh air in, watching the curtains blow in the breeze. Isn't that one of the best moments ever??? I think so.

I got all my housework done, plowed through the dreaded laundry, and even got in some baking done. Of course I took lots of pictures of my day too, I think you've all come to expect that much from me, and the day I don't post pictures I will probably shock some of you Hahaha

You'll have to excuse my current fascination with my sunflowers, I don't know what to tell you, other than I just find them exquisite to look at and they do make quite gorgeous photographs.

I don't know what it is about candles, but I use them year round, and usually when I'm going about my day, I love having one or two burning, not only for the scent but because they give out a warm glow that just makes me smile.

For the past two days, we've seen the clouds move on in, big fluffy white clouds.

One thing I've noticed is that whenever I'm stressed, or worried, or feeling down, all I have to do is step outside. It immediately lifts my spirits and makes me feel like all the worries are gone.

Granted it only lasts while I'm out there enjoying the sun and the nature around me, but for that moment in time, I feel good, happy, content, stress free. It might be why I spend a lot of time in my back yard sitting under the umbrella.

This morning I got the phone call from the vet.  He said that all of Lola's blood work came back fine, she is very healthy.  He wants us to just keep an eye on her for now, if the seizures increase and she starts having them every two months or every month, then we'll talk about putting her on medication, but he doesn't like immediately giving the pets medication, because for one it's a life long thing, and another reason is that the side effects are sometimes brutal and we don't want to do that if not absolutely necessary.

He's seen many pets who only have a seizure 2 or 3 times a year and they're perfectly healthy otherwise.

So, big weight off my shoulders, I'm relieved to know that there's nothing wrong with her.  It's all in the Lord's hands now and if He sees fit to heal her completely then so be it, and if not, it will be fine too :)  Whatever comes our way, we will deal with it :)

That little tongue just does me in, every.single.time. I can't take it, she's just so cute :)

So thank you all very much, for all the prayers for us and for Miss Lola, you don't know how much I appreciate it.

My crochet blanket is coming along nicely, I now have two rows complete. I do hope I keep this progress up so that I'll be able to get it finished very soon...would hate for it to end up in my "to be finished" pile, which seems to grow continuously.

With all the projects I finish, there are quite a few still needing to be completed. I'll have to set aside some time for those specific ones.

Don't you just love those pink flowers??? Freshly picked from the garden, so pretty :)

Got a wonderful surprise in the mail. I have this super talented friend, Sandra, in Portugal. She does all sorts of knitted and crocheted items, personalized requests etc.

I was on the look out for a tablecloth, and bought one from her. It looked beautiful in the picture, but I wasn't prepared for just how pretty it was in person.

It came today and I had to immediately throw it on the table, without even ironing, just so I could snap some pictures and show you all.

Is that not just one of the most gorgeous tablecloths ever?

Tulips. I LOVE Tulips!

Just beautiful, I can't stop looking at it.

Tomorrow morning I'll iron it, but for now I'm just going to leave it on, don't want to take it off.

So there you have it, how I spent my Monday. I do hope yours was a good one too.

I'll come by and visit everyone's Happy Homemaker Monday soon, promise :)

God Bless,

Since you love tulips - you should head on over here to west mi - in Holland. It's tulip time. We have dutch klompen dancers, tulips all over, parades. this festival lasts for a couple weeks - it's all celebrating the dutch heritage - which is cool for us because we are dutch! I'm going to try to get over there and get some pictures for you to see.

Oh Sandra, that is such good news about your sweet Lola and I'm pleased that your Vet is so wise to not rush to medication.

That tablecloth is so pretty and all of the crochet work is amazing...a treasure indeed.

Have a good day. xo

Very pretty pictures, everything! I too, need to get out to my yard. Just hearing the birds lift my spirit. (Oh, nice palm trees...we don't have those here!)

Beautiful sunflowers...I've had a "thing" for sunflowers that started 11 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter. I see them and I just smile. My whole kitchen is sunflowers.

I use candles year round as well. I don't think they have to be "seasonal". They smell great and I love the glow of them too.

I am so glad that Miss Lola is ok.

What a gorgeous tablecloth!

So glad to hear Lola is ok. This was close to my heart being a pug person too. And I didn't realize the tongue thing was a pug thing. It's one of my favorite things about my little puppy. She cracks me up with that little thing poking out between her teeth.

What a lovely, pleasant account of your day. Great news about your beloved Lola. I so agree with you about this time of year in the desert - it is so nice right before the heat hits! Enjoy your day today!

Gorgeous tablecloth and I'm so glad that Lola is essentially fine. So hard to see one's pet sick. They're like little kids.
