{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 04/06/2020 }

Good morning sweet friends, I hope this post finds you all doing well.

How was your weekend?

The only reason I even know there are still weekends, is because my husband is still working outside of the home, otherwise, it would just be a super long weekend around here.  So with that being said, yes, I still look forward to Fridays, but only because it means the next morning I can sleep in until 7 AM instead of being up at 5.

I am wishing for a good week for us all, I know they keep saying that this is going to be another tough week for our country, so I want you to stay focused on God, stay in His word, turn off the news and try very hard to send up positive vibes and good energy.

Aside from that, there is not much we can do other than going about our days the best we can.

Now, let's get on with our Happy Homemaker Monday.

Happy Homemaker Monday

♥♥The Weather♥♥
It is 58 degrees at this moment with a high of 77.  We have a pretty warm week ahead, even hitting 90 on Wednesday.  Wowzers!

Monday - Cloudy, 77
Tuesday - Partly cloudy, 87
Wednesday - Partly cloudy, 90
Thursday - Cloudy, 60
Friday - Partly cloudy, 66
Saturday -  PM Showers, 70
Sunday - Partly cloudy, 66

♥♥How I am feeling this morning♥♥
Woke up with super dry eyes, and that is due to the fan above our bed.  It got a bit hot in the bedroom last night (no, nothing like that people lol), and we turned the fan on for about an hour.  It is enough to mess me up.  I would say my allergies blah blah blah, but I think you already know that is an issue lately.

♥♥On my mind♥♥
Well aside from the current situation we're in, I'm thinking about the fact that my youngest is turning 17 on Saturday.  How?  How is my little boy turning 17?

♥♥On the breakfast plate♥♥
I've had my coffee, no breakfast yet.  Not sure, I may have Cream of Wheat or oatmeal.

♥♥On my reading pile♥♥
Ok so I started The Bad Girls of the Bible by Liz Curtis Higgs. I still haven't finished, I think it's not the right book for me to read right now, I need something lighter, I guess.  I'm going to set that one aside and grab a different one.  Actually got a new review book last week and have another arriving today, and yes, I am spraying the living lights out of these packages before they even enter my house.

♥♥On my tv♥♥
Youtube vlogs
World on Fire
Looking forward to the new Belgravia starting April 12.  It is from the same creator as Downton Abbey, so you know it will be good.

♥♥On the menu this week♥♥

Monday - Slow Cooking Chicken Curry, Homemade Naan
Tuesday - Meatball Subs, Potato Wedges
Wednesday - Sausage and Broccoli Pasta, Salad
ThursdayPork Parmegiana, Egg Noodles
Friday - Corned Beef Hash, Sauteed Squash
Saturday - Oven Sandwich
Sunday - Sausage and Potato Skillet, Salad

♥♥From the camera♥♥
Latest crochet project is making me smile.  Definitely brings some Spring into our home.

♥♥Looking around the house♥♥
It is quite dark this morning, it is cloudy outside so no golden rays slipping in through the windows.  I have laundry in the dining room that I need to fold and put away (kitchen towels and tablecloths that I washed last night).
Need to give the carpets a clean, been waiting for warmer temps and sun but had rain and cold weather last week.  However, the carpets NEED a clean so I'm going in today.  Rain or shine, right?

♥♥Chore I'm not looking forward to today, or this week♥♥
Bathrooms.  No matter how much I love homemaking, I just can't deal with bathrooms, they are definitely the one chore I don't enjoy at all.

♥♥To relax this week, I will♥♥
Very much the same as last week, with crochet, read and so on, but also want to make some more face masks and other sewing projects too.

♥♥On my prayer list♥♥
* The President and our country.
* People all over the world facing this awful pandemic.  The doctors, nurses and other hospital staff, the first responders, the people still considered essential who are out working every day, through this situation.
* For everyone who is anxious, scared, struggling with what is happening.  I pray for the Lord to take them in His arms and comfort them.

♥♥Devotional/Bible Verse♥♥
If you can’t trace God’s hand or discern what He’s doing in difficult situations, remember that He cares for you and He is good. Though we may not understand His ways, we can trust them.

I had started a book a few weeks ago also that a friend sent me several months ago about the black plague in California and just had to put it down for something lighter also!

Happy birthday to Nick! WOW, I just can't believe he's going to be 17! Where does the time go? My young niece is having a birthday in a couple weeks and is sequestered at home as we all are. I really feel for the young ones as they are really missing their friends and birthday parties. Her mom and dad are essential workers so they are getting out into the world, but taking extreme cautions when returning home. I did send (her mom picked it up off the front porch) her birthday present early because I had it here at home since December so knew it was safe and that seemed to brighten her spirits.

I keep hoping we'll wake up one day to a better outlook. In the meantime, I'm praying for everyone, especially the doctors, nurses, first responders and ESSENTIAL people who are braving each and every day to make this all better.

Happy birthday to your son. will be my son's 27th bday on the 7th. so sad we can't be with them at those times.

Happy birthday to your son! I imagine he'll definitely remember this birthday maybe a bit more than others. Great devotional for this week, one I think I needed to see. Hope you have a wonderful week!

Your oven sandwiches are yummy! 17 is crazy! I love your crochet projects, they make me wish I knew how to crochet, but I just can't seem to get the hang of it. Maybe I will have another go.

Happy birthday to Nicholas! 🎈🎉
I need to find a lighter book too. You're so right about staying in the word and staying positive. So important now. At noon each day people from my church are saying our fathers and hail marys from their homes- and I enjoy doing that during that time too. Knowing as a community we're offering up prayers each day that way. 🙏
Love seeing the crochet projects on insta! Stay strong, safe and healthy my Friend. xoxo

I learned some cool tricks to help keep my bathroom clean all the time and not have to take one day or an hour to clean it.
Every time I walk in the bathroom in will clean something over a few days time period. For example, after I get done taking my shower, I will spray the shower down with my homemade cleaner. Let it sit overnight and the next morning get in very carefully and take my shower as normal. The steam and water help clean it too so after I get done, I will take a microfiber cloth and wipe down everything while I am still in the shower. Then I get out and spray the shower down and wholah! Its clean. One morning after I get done putting on makeup and getting ready, I will windex my mirrors and clean my sinks and cabinets. Next time I walk into bathroom, and I use the bathroom, I will take 5 minutes to clean the toilet and wipe it down when I'm done.
All that is left for another time is garden tub and sweeping and mopping the floor. I have a swiffer wet vacuum so it does it for me at the same time.
My point is, you can space the cleaning out and everyday something is done and it looks clean all the time. Hope that helps.
