{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 12/27/2021 }

Good morning, good morning, on this cloudy December day.  How was your Christmas?  Did you spend it with family, did you have fun, are you still celebrating, or like me, are you ready to put it all away until next year?

I must confess, I was ready to pack it all up on the 25th, but I didn't, I held off until today.  I'll be leaving my real tree up, just going to remove the Christmas ornaments and leave the lights on.   Shouldn't be up for much longer, but I love a real tree and want to enjoy it as long as I can.

I'll be changing the template on the blog sometime today, just going back to a previous one, a simpler one, and taking down the Christmas background and header.  I don't know what it is with me at the moment, but I feel like I want to get rid of 2021 as fast as I can.

I will have a post up later today as well with a book review for you, one I think you'll enjoy, and I'll also have another post up with my Christmas gifts this year.  My family got me everything I absolutely love, I am so excited to get into all my gifts and start using them.

But for now, let's get on with our Happy Homemaker Monday, which is our last one for this year, can you believe it?
Happy Monday friends, hope you have a blessed week ahead!

♥♥The Weather♥♥
We hit 90 degrees on Saturday.  90 degrees.  Let that sink in.  Yesterday?  88.  Today we have a high of 72.  I don't even know what to say at this point, we are just going to ride this crazy weather wave.

Monday - 72, sunshine and clouds
Tuesday - 75, partly cloudy
Wednesday - 74, partly cloudy
Thursday -  71, partly cloudy
Friday - 72, cloudy
Saturday -  54, mostly sunny
Sunday - 44, partly cloudy

♥♥How I am feeling this morning♥♥

Pretty good.  Slept in until 7am, which is late for me.

♥♥On my mind♥♥

The end of the year.  I get very focused on what has happened the past year and what could be happening the year ahead.  I wish I wasn't like this because it bugs me to no end, but every year, at this time, I start getting a bit antsy about the new year.  Anyone else like that?

 ♥♥On the breakfast plate♥♥
Had a cup of coffee with vanilla creamer, and will have a bread roll with some butter, here in a bit.

♥♥On my reading pile♥♥
Nothing at the moment, just finished a review book and need to see what else is coming up.
Have my new book from Sophie Kinsella to read, can't wait to start.

 ♥♥On my tv♥♥
Vlogs on Youtube
1883 show on TV

♥♥On the menu this week♥♥

On Friday, New Year's Eve, my family will be over for dinner.  We don't usually celebrate New Year's Eve, but we are just having dinner with some delicious traditional Portuguese food, and then we are playing it by ear.  If by 10pm everyone is ready to go to sleep, then we will, if not, we will try to stick it out to midnight.

Monday - Frango no forno com batatinhas (Oven Roast Drumsticks with potatoes )
Tuesday - Cheeseburger Macaroni, Salad
Wednesday - Garlic Black Pepper Chicken, Basmati Rice
Thursday - Sausages in a cream sauce, Mashed Potatoes, Veggies
Friday - Feijoada with Rice, Sauteed Greens with Bacon
Saturday - Pork Egg Rolls, Sesame Noodles (using my chicken egg roll recipe)
Sunday - Fettucine Alfredo, Garlic Bread

♥♥From the camera♥♥

A quick peek at my Christmas gifts.  I'll show you all individually in an upcoming post, this afternoon.

♥♥Looking around the house♥♥
Jasmine is off today, so she is sleeping, and Nick is sleeping as well.  Curt has this whole week off, which I'm so happy about, so he is in the office on his computer.  Elliott is asleep under my bedroom window.

The house looks a little dark as it is cloudy outside.  I need to take down the Christmas decorations and get my house back in order, it's driving me crazy having it so cluttered.

♥♥New recipe I tried last week, or one that we really enjoyed♥♥

Made million dollar spaghetti last week, not exactly a new recipe but I realized I had never put it on the food blog, so I'll be doing that.

Have two recipes coming up this week that I don't have on the blog either, so I'll be adding those as well.  One of them is one that I just tried out a few days ago and it is amazing, quick, really easy to make and oh my goodness, so good.

♥♥To relax this week, I will♥♥
Hopefully read, I have so many books to get through and really want this upcoming year to be my Book Year.

♥♥Something I want to share♥♥
You know how I'm always sharing new channels with you?  Well I found one that I am quite obsessed with, it's not my usual channel selection, or actually, it kind of is, I guess, you will have to see for yourselves.  The channel is called Big Chef Cooking.  It is a family in Russia, who share their day and mainly recipes of the yummy food they make.  It is not spoken at all, it is one of those vlogs that just shows us what they're doing and take us along their day.  I have been really loving these kind of videos, so thought I would share with you.  Hope you enjoy!!!

♥♥On my prayer list♥♥
* I have a huge, huge praise report.  My sister in law Hayley, is cancer free.  I can't thank you all enough for all the prayers this past few months.  It's been a long journey for her, a lot of surgeries, treatments, hiccups and scares along the way, but the Lord never took His hand off her and just two days before Christmas, He gave her the miracle she and we all wanted more than anything.  Praise God!!!!
* Praying for my niece Tiffany, her due date is on Thursday, she is in a lot of pain and really struggling with the pregnancy these last few weeks.  We are praying for baby boy to arrive as soon as possible.

Good morning! What wonderful news about Hayley!!!! Prayers were answered! Weather is completely crazy everywhere so it seems, but yours is the weirdest this year. With all our snow here I'm leaving the tree and decorations up another week through the new years weekend. I'm just enjoying it so much

Prayers for Tiffany to have a smooth delivery. Sounds like a great menu this week. I'm off to check out Big Chef Cooking. Have a great week.

What wonderful news about your sister-in-law! So glad for your family. Prayers for your niece and nephew to be for a healthy and happy delivery soon. Most years I'm in a rush to take everything Christmas down on the 26 but for whatever reason this year, I felt like taking my time. However, my husband seems ready so most of it will likely come down today. Hope you have a wonderful last week of the year (and by the way, I can relate to the looking back/forward stuff about the new year). Thanks for always hosting this link up :)
