Happy Homemaker Monday - #1

I've decided to start my own Monday Feature, I wanted something that would bring together all my interests and daily activites.

I'll put up a Mr Linky, if you want to join in please do, if not, that is fine too. I just need a place to jot down what is going on around me, so from now on, every Monday you will see my Homemaking list.

If you decide to play along, all you have to do is use the categories and just fill in your own words.

On my bedside table:
The Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Down by Neta Jackson. I'm enjoying this series, the first book was so good and I'm already halfway through this one, I know there are a bunch more out there so I can't wait to get ahold of them and start reading.

On my TV:
Fireproof
Hancock

On the menu for tonight:
Portuguese Steak Roll Ups - will have the recipe up on the food blog later.

On my To Do List:
Laundry
Floors to be mopped
Nicholas School Project for tomorrow

New Recipe I tried last week:
Slow Cooker Hearty Split Pea Soup (recipe will be up this morning)

In the craft basket:
Crocheted Granny Squares - Now that I've taught myself to crochet and make the Granny Squares, I can't wait to crochet a bunch to make an Afghan.

Looking forward to:
A new laptop computer

Homemaking Tip for this week:
Whip up tasty maple butter in no time...yummy on pancakes or French Toast. Just combine 1/2 cup butter with 3/4 cup maple syrup.

Favorite Blog Post of the week (mine or other):
Motivation is the key by Rhonda Jean at Down---to---earth.....Rhonda Jean's post was so good and I found myself nodding in agreement with what she was saying. Worth a read!

Favorite photo from last week:

Me and my little Lola Pug

Lesson learned the past few days:
When Curt came home the other night and said that he had been in a jet that caught on fire, I was once again reminded that life is too short and too precious. That we need to enjoy every single second and that we need to tell the ones we love what they mean to us. No taking anyone or anything for granted. That was a lesson that I clearly needed to be reminded of.

On my Prayer List:
Our military members
Curt - he will be testing for his next stripe in a few weeks

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
Psalm 116:1-2
Key Verse: Psalm 116:2b "I will call on him as long as I live"

Sandra,
Brandon tests for Tech in March and I'm praying, too! It's only his first time testing, and I guess they say Tech is one of the hardest ranks to make, so it's pretty slim that he will make it on his 1st try. Still doesnt hurt to pray!! :) I'll pray for Curt, too! Is he testing for Tech? I think before you said he was a Staff.

Anyways, have a great Monday! Can't wait to check out some of those recipes. Sounds delicious.

Great idea! Really like those categories you chose. I so enjoy reading about your days and now there'll be others I can check in to. Wish I could join, but I know myself well enough that I wouldn't be disciplined enuf to keep up with it. Very glad YOU are!!

Hi Sandra, I always love to visit but don't always have the time to join these day things. You have very fun categories and make life interesting for sure.

I love this idea - like an addendum to our daybooks. I'll be back.

I am so addicted to that book series! They are so great, and I live in the suburbs of where she writes about so they are even neater for me. Enjoy!

I just might play along with this one but not until next week. Glad to hear Curt is all right, that sounds pretty scary, who wants to be in a jet that is on fire? Not me.

Great idea. I'll have to think about participating, although I know I would not have something for every category.

I saw a show about real estate in Portugal last night. My oh my it was beautiful there!

I am reminded of how short life is everytime I loose a patient at work. This weekend a girl I use to stand beside in choir died suddenly. A freak thing..possibly a pulmonary embloi...34 years old. No health problems. It is so strange. She is a christian & I know she is better off where she is but I still dont like it.
