Saturday Movies!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Saturday afternoons have become my movie watching days, mostly because daddy is home from work and the kids cling to him. It's fine by me, I don't mind this forced reprieve.

I've been thoroughly enjoying the Little House on The Prairie Season 2 discs but today I'm taking a break to jump into something just as equally wonderful.

The Love Comes Softly Series by Janette Oke. Who's watched most of these? Or at least the first one? Come on, put your hands up I know you have.

I just watched Love Comes Softly, the first one in the series, a few weeks ago and then I watched Love Takes Wing which, well, was kinda of stupid of me to do, I like keeping to the series not bouncing and jumping all over the place but it happened and it doesn't matter, I will just go back and watch everything else and then act all surprised when I happen upon Love Takes Wings again * snicker*

Love Takes Wing
Love's Enduring Promise
Love's Long Journey
Love's Abiding Joy
Love's Unending Legacy
Love's Unfolding Dream
Love Takes Wing
Love Finds a Home

Another reason for this movie watching marathon is that I woke up with a really sore throat and it's those nagging pains that just won't go away, plus, I got hardly any sleep at all because the neighbor across the street has a habit of throwing parties every weekend, brings all his friends over, then they get drunk and start yelling and playing music in their cars RIGHT.OUTSIDE.MY.BEDROOM.WINDOW.

Have I ever told you how frustrating living on a military base can be at times? It just boggles my mind that some people seem to have absolutely no respect for others around, it's 3am, you would think they would have the decency to realize that there are people around them with young children, trying to sleep. But, that's a whole other post LOL

I've done the housework, I've got the chicken roasting in the oven with the potatoes and I have a cup of hot tea with honey, I think I'm set right?

Oh and remember that new crochet project I mentioned yesterday? Well, scratch that, I started it and then realized that I wasn't happy with it at all and the instructions were not very clear either which resulted in row after row of pulling apart, restarting, pulling apart and culminating in me just throwing the yarn into the yarn bag and saying "forget it".

Well I'm off, hope your Saturday is as quiet and relaxed as mine has been.

I havent watched all of the series but several...they were pretty good. The drunks...well you might have to pull a "Madea" on them! Hope your throat feels better.

Honestly, I just recently heard of this series, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to rent them, I take movie time when my little one is napping and my bigger ones are in school so I have about 2 months to wait. BTW ~ I hope you feel better soon!

Sandra,

I haven't heard of that series of movies before. I too love the Little House on the Prairie series along with Highway to Heaven and Touched by an Angel!

I hate to tell you but even off the military base, the teens across the street from us do the very same thing that your teens do! Stay up all night, rev their cars, play music as though they can't hear it at normal levels and just maintain a level of disrespect that is unheard of, they live with their poor old 90+ old grandmother since their mom dumped them off there and she can't even control them.

This is why I believe seniors love their old folks communities. They don't have to put up with all this stuff.

Here is sharing your grief with you and hoping your feeling much better very soon!

Love and Hugs ~ Kat

Last night we had young people laughing and yelling and playing basketball on the court that's about 3 houses worth away. At 1 in the morning. And my hubby had to work today. Very frustrating.

I really enjoyed the Love Comes Softly series both in book form and in movie form. I have yet to see the most recent one though. That may just have to be my next rental.

I have watched six, and I am very much scheming to get my hands on 7 & 8. Not sure if it will be on Hallmark or if I will have to take advantage of the Koorong sale in Australia. It is a Christian online bookshop.

I love these movies. My hubby recorded them on DVR, then my kiddos and I would watch 1-2 every week until we saw them all.

I have not seen the Janette Oke movies but my kids have always loved the Little House on the Prairie. It sure is nice that there's still a few good movies without language issues out there. Hope you feel better!

My wife Kat at Heart 2 Heart is turning me onto a bunch of new blogs. I really like your writing style and how you keep it light and fun.

Keep the Faith!

P.S. I have to get that recipe for the Bacon Wrapped Chicken! kk!

OH - I think I've seen all the Love Comes Softly movies (Hallmark Channel had a marathon!) - and I've defintely read every book Janette Oke has ever written, I think. :)
As for your neighbors, can't you call the MPs (or SPs or whatever you call them in the AF??)...We had neighbors like that too & we'd just call our local sheriff's office since we lived in the county & they'd do a drive by and chat with them for a while.... :) We don't have to put up with it any more :)

Ok, I had no idea there was a series of 7 movies! I added Love Takes Wing to my Netflix queue after you posted your movie choices last week. You hadn't mentioned it was in a series- nor did Netflix suggest or illude anything to that fact! Grrr!

How do you end up with so many movies out at a time? Library? Netflix movie crazy pass? :) Loaners for review? I was a bit jealous you had Ghosts of Girlfriends Past as it isn't out yet!!

PS- I LOVE the aprons! I might not be home 24-7, but I wear my apron from the moment I set foot in my house. I love the feel of tending to my family!
