{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 12/03/2018 }

Good morning everyone, hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was quite uneventful, which is a good thing.  I did manage to start Christmas decorating, finally.

I'll try to finish it off today, but I have quite a few things I want to go get done and not sure if I'll have enough time, but I'm going to try.

Let's get right into our HHM.

The weather outside is::::
38 at the moment and quite chilly outside and only a 48 degree predicted high for today.  We will be staying in the lower 50's for the remainder of the week and also expecting some rain from Thursday and into the weekend.

On the breakfast plate this morning::::
Just had a cup of coffee with Creme Brulee creamer, and two pieces of toast with butter and strawberry jam.

As I look outside my window:::
The sun is trying to shine through the clouds, but it's awfully grey out there.  It looks to be a proper winter day.

Right now I am::::
Just plopped myself down on the couch.  I am already dressed for the day, I have some tights on, a long sleeved black top and my pink slippers.

As I look around the house::::
At the moment, the living room I'm sitting in has Christmas boxes everywhere so it looks quite messy.  The den is a bit of a mess too, I have laundry on the couch in there and the dining table.  I have to iron and put all that mess away.

On today's to do list::::
Laundry....Need to wash my comforter.  Also have quite a pile of ironing to do, and a basket filled with laundry to put away.
Cleaning....In the kitchen, Unload the dishwasher and reload with breakfast dishes, sweep and mop.
In the living room....Want to get all the Christmas stuff out so that I can put the boxes back in the closet.  Need to vacuum and dust as well.
In the bedrooms....make the beds, pick up and tidy up, open curtains and blinds and windows to let in some fresh air.  Vacuum.
In the bathrooms....usual, clean the toilets, sinks and mirrors.
Homeschooling....School with Nick.
Crocheting....I want to make some wiggly dish cloths, and I also want to make a new swiffer mop cover because I can't for the life of me find my old one.
Cooking.....Lunch is whatever is in the fridge, I still have leftover lasagna so may eat that.  Dinner is Beef stew.

Currently reading::::
Lady Traveler's Guide to Deception with an Unlikely Earl by Victoria Alexander.

On the TV today::::
At the moment watching A Christmas Prince The Royal Wedding, on Netflix
Vlogmas on Youtube
Need to catch up on Outlander
Death and Nightingales (new BBC period drama)
Christmas movies

On the menu this week::::
Monday - Beef Stew, Garlic Biscuits
Tuesday - Slow Cooker Chicken Parmesan, Garlic Bread
Wednesday - Pork and Rice Quesadillas, Cilantro Lime Rice
Thursday - Chicken Sopa, Salad
Friday - Pizza in a Pot
Saturday - Baked Tilapia, Garlic Butter Potatoes
Sunday - Zuppa Toscana, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Vanilla Cake

What I am creating at the moment::::
A Christmas home.

New recipe I tried or want to try this week::::
The Chicken Sopa is a new recipe, it's actually from the church cookbook and is one of my husband's cousin's recipes.  I'll share the recipe once we've had it.

Glad your weekend was uneventful, Sandra. I'm looking forward to focusing on the home-front this week, even if it is going to be super busy. We're in the cold, too. Nothing horrible, just at miserable damp stage. I wish it would either warm up or get really cold. Either one would be better than this. Your menus look great (as always)! And good luck with getting the rest of your decorations up. Blessings for a great week ahead! <3

I love Christmas decorations but while the boxes are out it's uncomfortable! Funny thing, I love to see the decorations come, and love to see them go in January! It always feels so much cleaner without the cozy colorful whimsical stuff in January.
