Happy Homemaker Monday - 07/22/2019

Good morning everyone and a very happy Monday :)

I am sorry I am posting this a little later than usual, but I've been editing photos from a family photo shoot I did yesterday.  I am NOT a professional photographer, I just love taking photos and my family asked me to take some for them.

As always I take hundreds and then need to sit and edit which is a lot of work since I shoot all my photos in raw.

Anyway, I am still editing but just looked at the clock and realized that I need to get the Happy Homemaker Monday post up, so taking a break from the shoot to get this one up.

Wishing you all a very blessed week ahead.

The weather:::
It has been scorching here, well in the triple digits and when you throw in the humidity it is just ridiculously hot.  I so wish we could get some rain, but it doesn't  look like it.

Monday - Partly cloudy, 90
Tuesday - Sunny, 89
Wednesday - Sunny, 89
Thursday - Partly cloudy, 91
Friday - Partly cloudy, 94

On the breakfast plate this morning:::
I'm still on the intermittent fasting and so far I've lost 4 pounds which makes me very happy.  I will be eating around 10 am, so I'll have coffee and probably a Portuguese roll with butter, cheese and ham.

Right now I am:::
Typing up this post, watching some youtube vlogs in the background and editing photos.

On my bedside table:::

Tablet (my phone broke yesterday, the battery went bad so we are having to ship it to Samsung to replace the battery  I'm out of a phone for about a week).  Firestick remote and a glass of water.

On my reading pile:::
Kill the Queen by Jennifer Estep.  You can see a list of my upcoming book reviews, on the sidebar.

Movies or Shows I watched this weekend:::
Absolutely nothing, this weekend Curt and I spent on the yard and hardly had time to watch anything.  Actually, we did watch an episode or two each night before bed, of Star Trek The Next Generation.

On my TV this week:::
TV:
General Hospital
Homemaking vlogs
Star Trek The Next Generation
Handmaid's Tale
Haunted Towns
Ghost Adventures

Documentaries:
Death Row Stories:  Ruben Cantu
How 1950s furniture caused fires
The Renaissance Meal

Movies:
Sandow
Lacey
Lady MacBeth
Effie Gray
Williamstowne

On the menu for this week:::
I'll be grocery shopping on Friday, so don't have a meal for that day, planned.

Monday
Beef Stroganoff, Rice and Salad

Tuesday
Panda Express Chow Mein

Wednesday
Sausage Potato Skillet

Thursday
Sheet Pan Pepperoni Pizza

Friday

On my to do list:::
Housework - wash all the curtains
Yard - replant mint to a bigger pot
Start on meal plan and grocery list
Water plants outside

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
I've actually pulled out my sewing projects to see what I have going on, and I'll be sitting down at the sewing machine either today or tomorrow to work on them.

Looking forward to:::
Getting my phone sorted and back in my hands.  It's crazy how much we depend on our phones, but I do have my tablet which lets me still get messages and access Instagram.  I just can't make calls and driving around is a bit frustrating without knowing I have the phone in case I need it.  BUT here's the thing, we survived many many years without cellphones and so I know that I can make it however long I need to without it, it will just take a bit of creativity on my part for getting around it and still doing everything I need to.

Looking around the house:::
I don't have any major housework to do today, did most of it yesterday, so basically just going to wash all the curtains, and will try to get the windows washed as well.
Aside from the usual cooking and cleaning, I pretty much have a free day of housework.

From the camera:::
Just a little peek from the photos I took yesterday :)

What I'm wearing today:::
You guessed it, in my nightie at the moment, but I'll pop on a romper soon, I don't have to go anywhere today so I can be comfy.

One of my simple pleasures:::
Playing with my camera and learning all about it's functions, new ways to try things and so on.  I love it and find it quite relaxing, there's nothing like stepping out back and just snapping photos here and there.

Bible verse, Devotional, prayers:::

Dear Father,

I come before you

Asking forgiveness today.

Many days my spirit tires of the routine.

How easily the best routine transformsinto the monotonous mundanewithout Your presence to guide me.

To think that my own manipulation of eventscould sway Your hand to move my direction!

Oh the futility of my soul and fragility of my heart.

I beg for Your forgivenessand ask for Your fortitude.

Would You give me the strength to trust Your plan?

As the timing of the stone David slung at Goliath, and the accuracy with which it struck his head,
with the confidence of onewho has slayed lions and bears with You,

I humbly request:

Would You unveilthe perfect moment to take action?

Until that moment of Your prompting, may I trust You-

The One worth trusting forever.

Amen.

Good morning, Sandra! We're finally getting the cooler temps and I'm hoping that you get them, too. Triple digit heat (or heat index) is miserable! Your menus look great and what sweet photos! Have a blessed week ahead and thanks for all you do! Blessings!

She is such a cutie!! That smile *swoons*.

I really don't know what I'd do without my phone. I have realized lately that I spend *way* to much time on it thanks to the screentime tracker iPhone's have now. Working on getting it down. But to be completely without it... yikes. And to thank when people were first jumping on the smart phone band wagon I was dead set against them. It's amazing how we change along with the times.

Enjoy your photo editing and your week.

PS (I have to check out the chow mien recipe, Panda Express is one of our favorites but lord is it expensive when you're trying to save)
