{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 05/04/2020 }

Good morning friends, and a very happy Monday May morning.  This is our first Happy Homemaker Monday for the month of May.  We are enjoying the warmest of weather already, very reminiscent of Summer, even though we're not quite there yet.

The pool has been providing plenty of exercise and fresh air, I am already sporting a very dark tan, such is my skin tone.  Unfortunately it's also been the week of high winds which completely mess me up, allergy wise.  Goodness it still amazes me how debilitating allergies can get.  I need to get a hold of some local honey and start doing the honey treatment that the doctor suggested to maybe get my system used to all these allergens that constantly attack me.

I'm not quite sure what the week holds for us.  Curt is still teleworking from home until the 15th, and I love having him here every day.  I see a lot of parents complaining about the whole family being home, about their husbands, their children, and I just don't understand it.  I've never understood it.

I remember when my kids were still attending public school, I would get so excited for Spring break and summer break and hated returning them back to school when it was over, while the other moms around me complained and said things like  "I can't wait to get them back to school, I've had enough of them being home."  Maybe I'm strange LOL

Anyway, let's get on with our post.  I wish you all a very blessed week ahead.  Stay strong, stay focused on the Lord and rest in the assurance that this will all pass.

♥♥The Weather♥♥
I'm looking at the weather and realizing that there will be quite a few days that will keep me inside and out of the pool.  Bummer.  But, I can't deal with the wind, it completely knocks me off my behind.

Monday - Mostly sunny, wind,  103
Tuesday - Sunny, wind, 79
Wednesday - Sunny, 85
Thursday - Isolated Thunderstorms, wind, 90
Friday - Partly cloudy, wind, 70
Saturday -  Mostly Sunny, 74
Sunday - Partly cloudy, 73

♥♥How I am feeling this morning♥♥
Pretty good.  We've been sleeping so well since we got the little air conditioner in the bedroom.  No more smothered and super hot in here.

♥♥On my mind♥♥
Just running lists of things I need to do, what I want to bake, clean, sew and do the rest of the week.  I find that some days I am not productive at all, and that is when I'll start feeling a bit cabin feverish.  So with that in mind, I need to draw up some lists for the week ahead and tackle some projects.

♥♥On the breakfast plate♥♥
Just a cup of coffee with vanilla creamer.  I'll have some toast once I'm done with this post.

♥♥On my reading pile♥♥
Finishing up Administrations of Lunacy for a review on Friday.  It's been a weird read for me, not an easy read at all, so it's taken some time to get through it.  Next on the list is Beyond Awkward Side Hugs by Bronwyn Lea.

♥♥On my tv♥♥
Nope, still have not caught up on anything.  I'm getting annoyed with myself lol

I did start the first episode of Belgravia and loved it, I mean, what is there not to love when it's from the creator of Downton Abbey?

Belgravia
Outlander
When Calls the Heart

♥♥On the menu this week♥♥

Monday - Lemon Garlic Baked Chicken Legs, Spaghetti Aglio e olio, Salad
Tuesday - Pork Chops in Mustard Sauce, White Rice
Wednesday - Cottage Pie, Bacon and Garlic Sauteed Greens
ThursdayOrange Chicken and RiceBeef and Onion Pie, Mixed Veggies
Friday - Deep Dish Sausage Pizza
Saturday - Herb and Cheese Stuffed Burgers on the Grill
Sunday - Creamy Rotini with Ham and Asparagus, Garlic Bread

♥♥From the camera♥♥
I don't have the perfect house, I don't have a magazine ready home, and honestly I don't think I even have a theme anymore.  I went through the country/primitive theme a long time ago but since moving into this house, I just haven't been able to bring it all together.  It is a bunch of things I love just thrown together as I go, but what I find is that they are a representation of me in object form and it ends up working.  There are a few spaces in the house that are my favorite, and this one by the big window is one of those. ♥

♥♥Looking around the house♥♥
The only ones awake, are myself and hubby.  He is working on his computer and I'm in the bedroom working on this post.  Marley is asleep in the office with hubby, by the back door, enjoying the sun rays coming in.
Windows have been opened, curtains have been pulled back and the house is slowly coming alive.

♥♥Chore I'm not looking forward to today, or this week♥♥
I'm back to hand washing dishes full time.  Dishwasher is out again.  We've decided that it is not a priority and something we need to go spend money on, as at least in my eyes, is not a necessity or something we can't live without.  So I will continue washing dishes by hand.  It's not that I mind, except for those days where there is a mountain waiting in the sink.  Blech!

♥♥To relax this week, I will♥♥
No doubt be jumping in the pool any chance I get.  Also gardening, reading, watching tv and whatever else comes to mind at the time.

♥♥On my prayer list♥♥
The President, our country.
For our country to open up soon.  My daughter is struggling being off work and waiting for her store to open.  Thankfully we live in Texas and our State started opening on Friday of last week, although not all businesses are up and running yet.

♥♥Devotional/Bible Verse♥♥
The only thing you can control is your focus.  - Pastor Steven Furtick

Yesterday's message was so powerful, again.  What are we doing during this time stuck indoors?  Why do we always think we need to know when things are happening?  The only one who knows what is going on, when the virus will be gone, when the country will open completely, is God.  That's it.

So in our time in the waiting room, we need to focus on God, not on what we are going through because through this God is showing us something.  What God is growing within ourselves and for us in our outside world, is greater and more beautiful than we could ever imagine.  I for one am so excited to see what is to come of this.

I've shared the link above for you to watch the sermon, if you wish.  It is called Focus on the Fruit.

PLEASE stop sharing links that are not Happy Homemaker Monday related. This linky is only for the participants of this Monday feature. I am actually getting tired of having to go through and delete links to random blog posts. Be respectful!!!

I love that quote, I will try to remember that this week. Actually, I shall try to remember it in the coming weeks too. I am weird too, I love having my babies at home with me, always have. I hate it when he has to go to campus, even for a day lol!

I never understood parents who complain having their children at home. My husband and I waited nine long years to be able to be parents and I treasure every moment with our sweet daughter. I get parents need a break now and then, but these are the good years and they go so fast! I don't really have a theme either. We did just repaint the inside to more mellow/neutral colors. We used to have light yellow and peach walls (my favorite colors), but after 10 years it was time for a change and I wanted something a little more calm. My house isn't magazine worthy, but it's comfortable and it's home.

Sorry to hear it is so warm and windy already - the one thing I'm NOT missing from Texas! It's been gorgeous here and unfortunately I've run out of outside chores! I think your 'theme' is your family - it all works together to depict your life together! I saw a post on INSTAGRAM this past week that really spoke to me. It basically said we've been given this once in a lifetime opportunity to evaluate and adjust our life as needed and if that isn't what we're doing during this pandemic then we are wasting a golden opportunity. Have a GREAT week mt friend.

I hope and pray that Jasmine's business will be open soon. It's crazy to have been stuck at home this long!! Even for us homebodies. I'm currently sitting in my favorite spot in the house, the big green chair in the living room. I love how we all have our favorite spots in our homes. Have a beautiful week!

We had a couple super warm days (I even opted to turn our air on at night to sleep) but now it's back to being a bit chilly as the storm moves over us. Nate Berkus, I think, says your home should tell your story and I think your definitely does, it's beautiful! Hope you have a wonderful week. Enjoy that pool! I'm a bit jealous of that over here ;)

I love my whole family home. I think in this crazy day and age, when we're all together in the house, I am content and relaxed. Almost like you know everyone is safe and sound. I hope you have a wonderful week :)

I have never understood it either, but many feel that way about having their kids home. I get it, we all need a break now and then, but I still would rather take a breather alone in my bedroom, and have them in the next room, than not have them there at all. Hope you have a great week :)

This weather, my friend, this weather is insane lol I would like to use the pool today because it's so hot but I can't deal with the wind. Love that post from Instagram, isn't that the truth? We are going through a huge change right now and God is giving us this opportunity to change and make a difference. Have a blessed week my friend xoxoxox

I hope her business opens soon too. She suffers with depression and anxiety and working helps her so much. It's been very hard for her right now being stuck in the house. Hope you have a fantastic week :)

I think we're finally past the cold weather, it's been nothing but hot here lately. A little too early for these triple digits but that's Texas lol Have a wonderful week :)

I feel so conflicted about re-opening. I really want to be back at work, but at the same time I know that it is going to be awful for my anxiety dealing with the public in this current situation. Ugh, there's just no good answer. :-( On a different note, your menu sounds delicious! Deep dish sausage pizza might end up going on one of my "question mark" days! Have a good week!

Hi Sweetie!
Your pool looks so inviting! I love seeing you guys playing in it on insta. I hear you with the darn allergies. Constant issue for my son and myself here too. Ugh! Your home is so lovely...and I love how you take such good care of your family. And to see how you love your time in the kitchen too. So sorry about the dishwasher. I know that is a big frustration for someone who loves to cook! Be safe and well and have a great week. 🙏 💜

Glad to hear that you enjoy having your kids and husband home. An air conditioner makes a huge difference this time of year. I have a small one in my bedroom, too. Love your suntan. I am getting bronzed, too. We are so lucky to live in places where we can enjoy being outside. How great that you have a pool!

Hi Sandra - I honestly think that this is the first time you have mentioned you have a pool!!! I think you did mention it a couple of days ago - but how have we not known this? I have followed you for many years and love reading your take on life day by day and I know how thrilled you were when you found that house and then bought it recently. And no pics??? I am astonished it either passed me by or you never mentioned before. We all think we know so much about you and your life and love reading about it. Hope you are keeping well. The one in our bedrooms has made a huge difference, we couldn't be in this side of the house when it got really hot. Hope you have a wonderful week.

My son and I are struggling with the allergies too, it's awful. We are definitely loving the pool, it's something we've wanted for a long time but were never really allowed when we lived on base, or the rental homes we lived in. Have a blessed week my friend <3

It's tough Carol, it's a hard place to be in and you're in New York which is even worse. The Deep Dish Sausage Pizza is one of the family's faves, it's so good, hope you give it a try and enjoy it. Have a great week :)

I am with you on the family being at home thing. I get so upset with people who think their husbands or kids are nuisance. I love being around mine all the time.

I was wondering if you can tell me how you designed your collage for your header on blogger. I'm trying to do multiple pics on my header but have no clue how to do it. It will only let me do one photo. Thank you.

Hi Gillian. It's an above ground pool that we bought and just put it up. It's not an in ground pool, if it were you definitely would have seen it in my photos. LOL Have a great week Xx
