Happy Homemaker Monday!

hhm

The weather in my neck of the woods:
It feels like fall around here, it's been cloudy and windy and just the perfect weather for a cup of hot chocolate.

One of my simple pleasures:
Looking through old photographs, letting myself be taken back in time and reminiscing about the people and the places on the photos.

On my bedside table:
A few more books for reviewing and the usual lotions and potions (hahah).

On my TV:
Little House on the Prairie Season 6
Supernatural Season 3

On the menu for tonight:
Portuguese pork chops and potatoes.

On my To Do List:
Mop and sweep
Change bed linens
Iron laundry
Make Cream Horns

New Recipe I tried last week:
None but guess what? I'm back to cooking full time and blogging so the food blog will be updated a LOT and I've been missing my portuguese cooking so you'll see plenty of that around here.

In the craft basket:
Nothing, I'm looking through books and online to try and come up with some great Fall projects.

Looking forward to:
Our yearly visit to the Pumpkin Patch. I want pumpkings, I want Apple Butter and Pecan Syrup and all the yumminess that comes this time of year.

Homemaking Tip for this week:
I can't think of a single one LOL I'll rely on you ladies to share some good ones.

Favorite Blog Post of the week (mine or other):
Well I finally got around to blog reading and I can't stay there was a favorite because there were so many and so much I missed out on, but now being back to blogging full time, I'm sure next week I'll have a good one to share.

Favorite photo from last week:
Didn't take any photos last week so I guess I'll just leave you with one of tonight's dinner, Portuguese Pork Chops and potatoes.

Lesson learned the past few days:
That I just suck at being disorganized. No really, I suck at it. I have been super disorganized this past summer and have been just going with the flow and though I do abide by those rules for other things like trips or weekend vacations or whatever.....when it comes to the nitty gritty of everyday life, I need the structure and I need the organization.
So, with that said, I've learned that I need to make time for everything and everything will fall into place.

On my Prayer List:
All my friends and family

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
Philippians 2:13

For God is at work within you, helping you want to obey him, and then helping you do what he wants.

You just came back to full-time blogging... And I just looked up your blog and arrived on your doorstep. Which I see, is still in Arizona. So not all that has changed, since last I knocked on your [blog] door. :-)

Who am I? Gee, should I draw this out a little farther? See if you can guess? A "Blast From The Past" or something like that. >,-) Ahhh but that "Evil Giggles" kind of a Smiley, may give you a hint.

Of course by now, you've clicked on my blog link, and gone to see *WHO* this gal is! But nope, you don't remember any 'Aunt Amelia's.' Well, I hope you don't, because if you do, she is not moi. ,-)

I got myself all bogged down in ... not sticking to the Rules of Pretty Blogdom, in my last blog(s). Went away. But couldn't stay away. [As you just found out... blogging calls to us] And carved out a place called 'Aunt Amelia's Attic.'

Where I even learned how to post bigggggggggggggggg pics! From a tutorial by a generous Dear blogger. I learned! I learned! Me, the constantly computer challenged One! The Old and constantly computer challenged One, at that. ,-)

Not using Real Life Name here in 'The Attic.' Hardly a soul [from the past] knows I'm here anymore. So Hon, do you remember?

Meanwhile, good luck to your husband with torn rotator cuff. 'Uncle A.' had horrid pain from such. Eventually had to have surgery, and it was done by a wonderful local doc and he was pain free, and good as new! Hope Curt's troubles clear, even more easily, without having to have surgery.

Oh and I got such a giggle out of a post, where you said that "those awful stories" of our metabolism catching up with us, were true. Yeppppers! ,-) Please deal with it quickly Hon. Very quickly. By moderation and all that boring stuff. :-)

Gentle hugs,
'Aunt Amelia'

Just went back and read your Pink Elephant in the Room post.

My speaking of moderation... Only for yourself, for your health. Not because of society's *Rules*. And not stated, in front of family. Jasmine will get way too many bad influences from TV and magazines, as is. And of course, you/Mommy don't want to add to them.

Oh the awful messages-to-girls, which our media sends. -le sigh-

Looking forward to your more frequent posts...I, too, have been challenged this summer to post more often - which I love. Now, as we settle back into routine a bit more, I hope to use my writing passion a bit more often!

Have a great day!

Sandra,

Take organizing one step at a time, or even one drawer at a time. Eventually you will work it all through your home and however long it takes it will be well worth the effort. Slow and steady!

Can't wait for our annual trip to the Apple Orchards for all our fall favorites!

Sandra,

I have a question I wanted to talk to you about off line. Can you email me at Stevenkat17@verizon.net so I could pose that question for you there? I couldn't find an email for you on your blog!
