Happy Homemaker Monday

Oh my it's early.  It's so very early.  I'm going to need a lot of coffee and prayers to get through today. It's always great to have a break, to get up whenever you want to, but going back to being up super early is the hard part.

But, I'm up, I have coffee and it's time to forge ahead to our first Happy Homemaker Monday of 2013.

The Weather:::
43 degrees at the moment and we have a high of 59 for today.

Right now I am:
Fighting sleep and trying to convince my body that it's time to get up.

Thinking:
That I am glad we're back to *life* today and that I can't wait to get going....after I'm fully awake of course lol
Also thinking that it's back to counting calories and drinking only water, and that I'm actually looking forward to it.

On my reading pile:::
Still reading Follow the River by James Alexander Thom.  Haven't done much reading lately because we've been busy doing family activities.

On my tv:::
Ripper Street Episode 2.....you can watch online here)

Favorite Blog post this week (mine or other):::
2012 by Saidos da Concha

Something fun to share:::
My friend Christina told me about this magazine the other day because she thought it would be something I would enjoy, and at first glance, I think she's right.  It's called Seeing the Everyday.

On the menu for this week:::
Been loving the new recipes we've tried this past week from the Amish cookbooks.

Monday - Chicken and Dumplings
Tuesday - Meatballs in Mushoom gravy (Amish)
Wednesday - Three Cheese Pasta Bake
Thursday -  Oven fried buttermilk chicken
Friday - Little Cheddar Meatloaves
Saturday - Beef Stir Fry
Sunday - Chicken fried steak, mash, green beans

On my to do list:::
Laundry - two loads to wash, two to iron and put away
Homeschooling
Vacuum bedrooms, wash carpets
Bathrooms
Bake bread

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Finished the quilt, made some owl wrist warmers.  Have a little quilt started for the pugs.  Going to make some Bavarian crochet potholders.

Homemaking Tips:::
Have you ever thought of keeping a laundry schedule?  I hadn't either until a few months ago, and then I sat down and quickly compiled one and now I keep it hanging up in the laundry room.  It helps me get what I need done and not pile everything into one day.

Monday - 1 load of laundry plus 1 load of kitchen towels and cleaning rags
Tuesday - Ironing and putting away
Wednesday - 1 load of laundry plus 1 load of bathroom towels
Thursday - Ironing and putting away

Looking around the house:::
It is so very very quiet.  My pugs are snoring on the couch next to me, my children are still fast asleep.  It's 6AM now and it's still dark outside.  My hubby is off at PT and soon he'll be walking through the door, taking a shower and off to work for the day.

From the camera:::
The hot water bottle cover I crocheted last night.....I started it last week and did the first row and then Christmas was in full force around me and I had to set it aside.  Totally winged this one and I'm happy it turned out so cute :)

On my prayer list:::
Many friends and family needing prayer right now.
Praying for you all, for whatever it is that you may be needing.

Bible verse, Devotional:::
"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer."
~ Psalm 19:14 ~

We started back with everything last Wednesday, and what a tough week it was! I'm hoping that this week will come easier, since we are starting off full steam ahead. I just love your photos - they are so homey and inviting, just beautiful!

Your menu looks really yummy! I'm going to check into your food blog for some recipes to try out. :)

I struggled with getting up early today, but just got to get back in that schedule. Although it's hard at first it really does make the day go by a lot easier.

I'm definitely going to have to come up with a laundry schedule, I always feel like I'm buried in laundry. I think the clothes purposely throw themselves back into the dirty clothes baskets when everyone is asleep. LOL

I don't know how you cope with such early morning! Vince works late shifts so luckily I never have to worry about getting up before 7.30 - 8.30am usually.
I don't know what oven fried buttermilk chicken is but it sounds amazing :) xxx

It's funny to me to see the temps you have and the temps we have almost the same. :-)

Ripper Street looks interesting to me. We watched the trailer the other night. Not sure I could watch it without hubby. I'm a baby that way. LOL

Your menu sounds delicious!
I love your idea for laundry. I always say that I'm going to do it every day, but never do... Maybe that schedule will help me. I have to watch Ripper Street. It looks really entertaining. How do you find all of these awesome shows?
