Friday's Letters

Dear Spring...You've finally come to stay and I couldn't be happier.  Everything about you makes me smile.  The temperatures, the greenery, the new life whether in animal or plant form.  Just everything about you screams love.

Dear Period Dramas....Don't ever change.  Continue as you are.  Please don't fall into the trap of being political or pushing certain things.  Stick to what you do best, show us history, show us the days gone by as they were.  Don't change history, we need to learn from it.

Dear Great Grandma Ema....I've been missing you so much lately.  I wish you were still here, though if you were, you would be well over 100 years old, not that I would be complaining, just saying.  I miss your stories, your knowledge, you smile, the shared cups of tea and cream crackers while laughing together at the kitchen table.  I just miss you.

Friday's Letters

Dear Lord...Thank you for putting up with me.  I know I can be difficult at times, I can be a bad listener, I complain and I whine, but you just love me so much that you put up with it.  If you were human, no doubt by now you would have told me where to go and how fast to get there.

Dear Cold....You many have missed the memo, but you're supposed to be gone?  What are you doing lurking around the corner and peeking out every chance you get?  And why did you dump some snow on us this weekend?  Get going already!

Dear TV....Why can you not go back to the type of programming you had back in the 80s, 90s and even early 2000s?  Everything is terrible now, at least in my opinion.  I have YouTube, but it would be nice to turn on the normal tv once in a while and find something worth watching.

Dear baby chickens....You girls are so sweet and so cute and you make me smile.  How I love having you in our lives and can't wait to see you grow up.

Friday's Letters

Dear Heart...You just scared the living daylights out of me, but thank you for hanging tough and helping me through a scary situation.  There was a lockdown at our base and an active shooter.  My husband works on base as an instructor supervisor, and the hour and a half this went on, was terrifying.

Dear Rain....I love you.  I love how you smell, I love how you sound, I love what you do to the earth, the trees and the plants.  I just love you ♥

Dear Chocolate....Can you please break the hold you have over me?  For Pete's sakes, just let me go already.  Why are you so delicious?  Why do I struggle so much trying to ignore you?

Friday's Letters

Dear Friday...I love you, and am so glad to see you arrive.  Although it means that another week has quickly ended and we are close to April already.  Oh well!

Dear Food....I wish I could say that you don't have a hold on me, but you do.  I don't know why, or how, or if I'll ever stop loving you as much as I do.  But, the truth is that I adore you, I adore everything about you and you make me very happy.

Dear Gym....You have become one of my favorite places to hang out on the weekends.  What a joy you bring to my soul.  You used to intimidate me, if I am to be honest, but I have learned that you are actually one of my safe places, I feel relaxed when I'm there.  Thank you for that!

Dear 50 year old body....I am so proud of you, soooooo proud of you.  You don't understand just how powerful and amazing you are.  The way you have changed over the past year, you've gotten stronger, healthier and lighter.  What a blessing!

{ Friday's Letters }

Dear Wind....I love everything that God creates and I know everything has a purpose, but for you, I have only found the purpose of throwing my hair in a million directions, and kicking up my allergies something fierce.  So, could you maybe just wind it down a little?  Like a little or even leave altogether?

Dear Hunger....You are something fierce to deal with when it's that time of the month.  Where do you even get off making me eat everything in sight, like I'm starved?  For goodness sakes, calm down!

Dear Gym....I used to dislike you and could never understand why people flocked to you daily, or even a couple times a week.  The seemed to happy to go there.  Now I get it.  I understand, I feel what they do and I look forward to you every Saturday and Sunday.  I love you, I love working out, I love being amongst people who feel the way I do, and I love how you push me physically and mentally.  You are awesome!

Dear Spring....Please hurry up!  I have a few vegetables started already and I'm just itching to get everything planted and my garden sorted out.  I know I may seem impatient, but I guess I just can't wait for you to come around.

Dear Christian Fiction Books....You make me so happy.  I love your good family centered, sweet stories.  They make it easy for me to read and in a way, help me become a better reader.  Thank you!

{ Friday's Letter's - 02/22/25 }

Dear Neck and headaches....Thank you, thank you and a another thank you.  I am finally free of your constant nagging, and it feels glorious!

Dear PMS....I know you're important to our bodies, but for goodness sake, can you ease up on the insatiable hunger?  I want to eat everything in sight, everything and the kitchen sink if necessary.  My word.  I do not diet during the week before my period because I am so hungry and I find that it's best to just allow my body to take in what it wants.  The week after, I go right back to be good again.

Dear books....You have always been and will always be my first love.  I have such an affinity for you.  It's something that was placed within me as a child and has only grown through the years.  You take me on adventures, you make me smile, you make me laugh, sometimes you make me sad, but it's all good.  Thank you for always being there.

Dear weather....I've just about had it with your nonsense.  Can you please pick a temperature and go with it?  This back and forth is ridiculous.  96 one day and 8 the other with a wind chill of -17.  I just want spring, I'm not even asking for summer and the super hot temperatures, I want spring and green things everywhere and mild wonderful weather.  Help a girl out will ya?

Dear coffee....You continue to be my favorite.  Cold weather, hot weather, morning, night, it doesn't matter, I love you and will always love you.

{ Friday's Letters - 02/14/2025 }

Dear Tension Headaches....I guess you are good friends with my sinus, because you jumped right on the bandwagon and have plagued me for a week and a half.  Quite frankly, I'm sick of you both and can't wait for you to leave.

Dear Valentine's Day....Maybe I should be thrilled you're here, but we've never been one to celebrate this date, so fur us it's just another day.  We do the flowers, chocolates and I love you's all year long, so I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything, but for those that celebrate, I know you make them happy, so thank you for that.

Dear Cold Weather....Ok you've shown off, now it's time to go.  I was so happy with warmer weather and then you swept in, knocked us off our feet and have frozen us the past 3 days.  Can you please just go?  You can come back next year.

Dear Elliott....You're a cat and all that, and I know you have your personality and cats are supposed to be stuck up and not very loving and friendly, but you love me.  Oh you love me and you've chosen me as your favorite person and that makes me so happy.  I never thought I would love a cat but here I am, besotted with this literal fur ball.  Stop acting like you don't care sometimes, I know you do.

Dear Kaia....I don't think you'll ever know just how much I love you and how you have healed my heart after Marley's loss.  Your eyes are filled with love, and you have the sweetest face and disposition.  You really are my shadow, at least during the day and during the week when daddy is at work, because on the weekends?  Not so much, I hardly see you Hahahah

Dear Chickpeas....You have become my go to, one of my absolutely favorite foods if not the favorite at this point.  I love how versatile you are, how healthy you are and how happy you make me each time I take a bite.  It's crazy, but you really are the best food ever.  Thank you for giving me sustenance for the past year, you helped me through some hard times.  Best friends forever ♥

Many of you have been enjoying these Friday letters and have emailed me asking if I could add a linky.  I wasn't going to because I didn't think anyone would want to join in, but I will add one today, in case some of you want to jump in. Even if just one of you joins, that's ok.

{ Friday's Letters - 02/07/2025 }

Dear Sinus....I know, you are an important part of our bodies, but could you maybe not bug me as much as you have been doing the past week?  Just ease up a bit on the sinus headaches and pressure.  Thanks!

Dear Life....I am so thankful to God for breathing air into my lungs every morning, and allowing me one more day on this planet.  But, with life comes death, and we have seen our share last week, from my uncle Tony to Curt's aunt Jean just a few days after my uncle passed.  It's been a sad week.

Dear Hallmark movies....You are predictable, from the girl to the guy to the situation and the way it all ends, but yet, you are very much a comfort thing for me and so many others.  I have been watching your movies nonstop this past week, it's helped me keep my sanity and brought me some calm and peace through the sadness.

Dear Chickens....Oh how I love you.  You stopped laying about two months ago and just started again, and you don't know how happy I am to see those gorgeous big brown eggs.  Eggs are expensive at the store, so thank you for helping your human mama out.

Dear Plants....I am thrilled that you have forgiven me for the years upon years of abuse and death that I unwillingly bestowed upon you.  I wanted to much to have plants and just could never keep you alive.  The past 10 years I have tried and learned and researched and finally found the way to keep you alive, and now I can't live without you around me.  I am slowly becoming a crazy plant lady.

Dear Bible....I have read you many times, but every time I open you up it feels like it's the first time.  I learn something new, I understand something I couldn't understand before, and I am retaining so much of your scripture.  I may finally become one of those Christians I've always wanted to be, you know the ones?  They rattle off scripture like it's second nature.

Dear Blog.....I have fallen in love with you again.  I thought I had a few times over the past few years, but I guess I didn't, because I fell off the wagon immediately.  However, this year (ok I know it hasn't been that long, but still), as I post every day, I am finding myself loving the process again and looking forward to it.  It's a different feeling from before, and very reminiscent of when I first began blogging in 2006.  It's actually hard to believe that yesterday was 19 years since that very first post

{ Friday's Letters - 31/01/2025 }

Dear Friday....Thank God you're here!!!  It's been a difficult week as we've said goodbye to our uncle.  The hardest part about not living in the same continent as family, is that when someone passes on, we can't be there to help, to give a hug, or to even attend the funeral.  It's hard!

Dear 50 year old body....you have been so great to me this past year.  I have worked hard, but so have you, and together we have joined hands, determined to go into our old age healthy and strong.

Dear chocolate....I love you but I hate you.  We have this obsessive relationship that I need to cut off at the root.  Why is so hard to give you up?

Dear weather....can you please make up your mind?  Are you cold, are you hot, are you freezing, are you rushing into spring, what is going on?  My osteoarthritis would love you to pick one temperature and stick with it.

Dear Books....Oh I love you, so very very much.  You take me on adventures, you help me pull away from the craziness around our world, and you teach me new things with each page I read.  Thank you!

Dear God....I know I must drive you crazy at times, and you probably sit and shake your head at my constant need to control every aspect of my life.  But, I have been trying so hard, and the more I press into you and allow you to guide my steps in every day, the easier life is becoming.  Please don't let me stray, remind me to stay close, to let go and to trust your every word.

Dear World.....You are having a hard time aren't you?  It seems that things are going crazy, falling apart, and moving very fast towards destruction.  But I have faith in you, and I know you'll pull out of this darkness, and very soon, we will all be living our lives, with huge smiles on our faces again.  Hang in there, you are ruled by a father who loves you and treasures you.

Friday's Letters - 08/28/2015

Friday's Letters

Dear weather......I was so happy to see some rain this week, it didn't last long and it wasn't for many days, but it was enough to quench the thirst for you.

Dear butterflies.....you are one of God's most beautiful creations and I'm so blessed to see you fluttering around my yards.

Dear pecan trees.....goodness, do you know that you're one of my favorite nuts?  Do you also know that I'm so happy to have 5 of you on my property?

Dear America.....what is happening with you?  Where has this amazing, beautiful, power country gone?  All I see lately is political correctness, attacks, sadness, fighting, violence and disregard for fellow human beings.  I'm so sadness by these events and I can only pray that things change, and they change fast.

Dear body.....I think the last few months have finally caught up with you.  I'm sorry for waking up crying my eyes out, that ugly uncontrollable gut wrenching cry brought on by months of physical exhaustion and mental drainage.  It felt good to let it out though and I feel much better now.

Dear finances.....we are in a power struggle at the moment, and you're winning, I'll give you that.  Thing is, I'm not a quitter and I plan on not only catching up but overcoming, just you wait and see.

Dear school.....it's been two days since the online servers have gone down and I know that you're technicians are working diligently on it, but it's a little frustrating when I realize how much work we're getting behind on, nevertheless, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and just wait it out.

Dear God......thank you for always being there, for seeing me through everything and for continuing to light my way, I could never make it without you.

Friday's Letters

Dear body::::
I know you're not feeling 100% and I'm sorry for whatever I did to bring this upon you.  I have tried to make you feel better but you are not healing as fast as I would like, for that I apologize, I guess I'm just antsy.  I promise to continue trying my best and to be patient.

Dear Curtis::::
I'm so proud of you, you do so much for us as a family and you work hard every single day to provide.  I know you are loving your new job and being around the jets again, and for that, I'm truly thankful.  God has blessed you tremendously.

Dear Jasmine::::
I know you're 16 and I know you're supposed to *know it all* and think that at times I'm just nagging, but sweet girl, slow down, take your time growing up, and try to remember that everything you're going through, I've been through too.  I promise not to smother you, and I promise to let you find your way on your own, but I am your mother and I WILL be there every step of the way, guiding you and advising you whether you like it or not.

Dear Nicholas::::
Where did my little chubby cheeked baby boy go?  You tower over me, you lift me up with such ease and you are sporting the start of a mustache.  I can't even with this, I'm not ready to have no little ones around me anymore.  You're such a sweet heart though, but I could do without the attitude at times, I know, puberty and growing up is not easy, but again, mom and dad have been through it and we're just here to help.

Dear Lola::::
I love you, you're my sweet little pug, even though you can be quite ornery at times.  I'm sorry you still have to deal with seizures once in a while, I wish there was a magical word or medicine that could take them away forever, but since there isn't, just know that I will be there holding you and making you as comfortable as possible when they happen.

Dear Bella::::
Oh my sweet Bella, you are getting so old.  You're trying so hard to keep going and do the things you've always done, but I see you struggling at times.  You are still such a happy dog and thankfully not in pain, though I know that your much slower than you used to be and it frustrates you at times.  I don't like the pee all over the house, but you can't help it, and I guess it's time to look into some doggie diapers, but just know we love you so much and can't imagine our lives without you.

Dear weather::::
You're nuts, that's all I really can say.  I have enjoyed the whiplash of sun and rain, and humidity and dryness, just wish you would make up your mind.  Pick one, stick with it.  Ok?

Dear house::::
I am still loving you, still enjoying waking up every morning in this beautiful area and smiling at the land before me.  I however have a request....could you try, just really try to not let any scorpions in???  I promise to keep you clean if you can do that for me.

Dear me::::
Saved the best for last, I guess.  You're awesome, you're strong, you're loving and kind and generous and you take yourself too seriously at times, you can be your worst critic and often worry too much about what others are thinking about you.  Life is to be lived, start living it, stop worrying, stop trying to control, and guess what?  Be who you are, if you want to be nice then be nice, and if someone has a problem with it or doesn't return the feelings, let it go, it's their loss.

Friday's Letters!

Good morning my friends.  It's Friday and that means more Friday letters.  I realize that last week I missed this feature on my blog, I don't even know why or what I was doing.

Anyway, let's get on with it......

Friday's Letters

Dear body....I can tell that you're feeling better since I've started really focusing on you. I'm glad we're reconnecting and doing this together.

Dear headaches....you've started up since I began drinking just water and watching what I eat, I'm assuming you're a side effect of this so called detox of the yucky stuff. I'll deal with you with a smile on my face, because I know it's for a good cause and won't last long.

Dear birds....you live on my tree that hangs over my driveway.  I have no problem with that, what I DO have problem with is the paintball sessions that you deliver all over my car.  Every.single.day.  Gross!!!

Dear Jasmine and Tiffany....I know you are both tired, and stressed, and worried about finishing up school for the year.  I am here for you and I will continue to help you as much as I can, together we will get this finished.

Dear dust....if someone kept removing me from a spot, over and over again, I would get the message that I was unwanted.  You on the other hand, just don't get it.  Oh well, off to wipe again.

Dear sun....I've missed you and I'm really enjoying the warm temperatures, can't wait until I have a little more time to get outside and really soak you in.

Friday's Letters - 05/09/2014

Friday's Letters

Dear House....I wish I liked you as much as I thought I did when we first moved in, but honestly, I am looking forward to moving out in about 3 weeks.  Thank you for sheltering us for the past 10 months.

Dear Baby Birds.... It was such a pleasure watching you grow from little eggs into the cutest baby Robins ever.  I am enjoying watching you learn to fly.

Dear Books.... You bring me so much joy.  I love opening your pages and letting you take me far away into a beautiful land of imagination.

Dear Rain.... I enjoyed seeing you yesterday and this morning, there is nothing like your scent and your glistening drops left hanging on the tree leaves.

Dear Blog....  I am missing you very much lately.  I want so badly to go back to the way things used to be, and I count down the minutes and days until I can finally go back to normal blogging.  It's been almost a year since we started this crazy chapter in our lives and unfortunately many things have suffered, including you.  I'm so sorry.

Dear Crochet.... I thank the Lord for the day I took it upon myself to learn you.  You have kept me sane through so many not so good moments in my life, thank you.

Friday's Letters - 05/02/2014

It's Friday, and that means it's time for another Friday's Letters.  I am so late getting this up, our internet has been so cruddy today, it's going in and out all the time.

I also had to pay bills and run errands, grocery shop etc, this morning with my hubby, and I JUST got done putting everything away.   I can finally sit down for a little and get this post up :)

Dear Friday....Thank God you're here!!!  I've been so busy this past week and I've longingly been staring at the calendar, waiting, just waiting for your arrival.  I'm so happy to see you :)

Dear 39 almost 40 year old body....you have been so great to me so far, but I can tell that you're getting old and changing.  I am trying very hard to keep up with you and to take better care of you, but I can't do it alone.  Won't you help me a little while longer?

Dear weight....you and I have gone back and forth for so many years.  Just when I think I have you under control you slowly creep back in.  I'm not overweight, but I could stand to lose 15 pounds and I am trying to do that, so let's meet halfway?  I do my best, and you slow down, deal?

Dear water....I know in my heart that you are the best thing to drink.  I just wish I loved you as much as a cold glass of soda all bubbly and stuff.  I am trying to drink more of you, I honestly am, but I struggle.  I am going to continue dressing you in lemon slices, maybe I'll find you more appealing that way.

Dear Spring....Oh you are definitely here.  I am loving the 80 degrees, the beautiful skies, the green grass, the blooming Lilacs and the chirping birds.  Please don't leave!

Dear Husband....I know that you are once again unemployed and that you were not happy with your previous job.  Your heart is set on Scientific things, and that is your passion.  I know it hasn't been easy for you since retiring, and I only wish I could make this all better, but I can't, only thing I can do is continue to love you and support you and remind you that we are OK.  You work so hard, and I just know in my heart that everything you are doing is to ultimately find you the job of your dreams.  Let's hang in there together, just a little longer.  I love you!

Dear Smoothies.....I have a renewed love for you and I know that you are the healthiest thing I could drink at the moment, well, aside from your buddy water.

If you wish to join in, leave your link below so that I and others can come by and visit :)

Friday's Letters!

It's been such a busy week, I can't believe the last time I blogged was on Monday.  Oh boy!

Anyway, it's time for Friday's letters, and if you want to join in I've added a Mr. Linky to the bottom of this post.

Dear Jasmine....Happy Birthday my baby girl.  I can't believe that you are turning 15 years old, where has the time flown?  Thank you for being the smartest, prettiest, funniest daughter I could ever have wished for, and I am so excited to see you grow into a young woman.  I love you!

Dear Weather....ok, ok, I know you are in charge, but seriously???  It's practically May and I'm quite done with the cold and the dreary and the frost.  Where is my Spring?

Dear Kitchen....you truly are my favorite room in the whole entire house.  Thank you for letting me be myself, for experimenting and for cooking delicious meals for my family.

Dear Lola....if you only knew how much I love your little tongue.  It always seems like it's way too big for your mouth, but the way it hangs out has to be the most adorable thing on earth.

Dear Bella....oh my sweet old pug, you are getting on in years and I see you starting to struggle every day.  I wish I could make your back legs better, but unfortunately I can't.  All we can do is love you and hug you and continue to nurture you for as long as you live.

Dear Coffee....you are my best friend, where would I be without you?  You make mornings so much better.

Dear Blog....I love you, like really really love you.  I am sorry that I haven't been the best of bloggers with my crazy busy life lately, but I promise to try.

Dear Robin....You are such a good mommy to those 4 little babies.  I love watching you feed them and take care of them, and I can't wait to see them grow and fly out on their own.

Friday's Letters

So it's Friday and I decided to join in on Friday's Letters.  I had seen this meme around the blogs since last year and wanted to participate, but just never got around to it, and I think today is it, so here we go.

Dear Friday...I am so glad you're here, I look forward to you each week but this one even more, I am looking forward to relaxing after dinner and catching up on some shows.

Dear Husband....I love you, with all my heart.  I know right now we're stressed with the upcoming move and we do butt heads sometimes, but we'll get through it together.  The fact that you left for your second job after a disagreement with me, and then come right through that door 5 minutes later to wrap me in your arms and apologize, meant more than you will ever know.

Dear Jasmine....I know you're a teenager, but geez, how much can one person sleep?

Dear Nicholas....I'm glad you're enjoying your new birthday games, but really, do you need another one?  I know you already finished most of them, but we aren't exactly made of money, and last I checked, it doesn't grow out on any of our back yard trees.

Dear pugs....I love you so much, you bring me joy like nothing else, even when you're drinking water and then dripping all over the floors, or when you do your dinner take outs and spread the food pellets over my living room carpet.

Dear eyes....you've served me well for 39 years, I guess you're just tired from the work I put you through each day.  I promise to take better care of you.

Dear Eye Doctor....thank you for making my children and I, feel so welcome in your office.  For the laughs, for the jokes, for treating my children like your own.  I think we have found our eye doctor for this area.

Dear Spring....you're out in full force and I'm loving the flower blooms in all my trees.  Could do without the pollen being thrown around by the winds though.

Dear Easter....well, here you are again.  I always look forward to you arriving, even though it brings me immense sadness and joy at the same time.  I can't wait to celebrate you this weekend.

Dear Jesus....I love You, I adore You, I couldn't be who I am without You.  I want to thank You again for Your sacrifice on this Good Friday, and I can't wait to relive your Resurrection on Sunday.

If you decide to do your own Friday's Letters, leave me a link in your comments, I would love to come and read :)
