Taking it one hour at a time!

I'm exhausted, to put it mildly. You ever have those nights where you go to bed and you're drained but you lay there and you toss and turn and you can't get comfortable??? And then you keep looking at the clock and seeing the hours go by and you start panicking because you KNOW that by 7am the latest the kids will be wide awake and bursting with energy???

It's where I'm at! Hence my blog post being so late, well not really late late, but not the usual chirpy morning blah blah blah I am used to giving you all. So I'm here, tired, coffee mug in hand and trying to figure out how to make it until bedtime without conking out on the computer desk, or the couch OR the picnic table outside....which would be really bad considering the 115 º heat right now.

So I'm taking it one hour at a time, I'm forcing my eyes awake and I'm forcing my body to continue with the daily routine, the cleaning, the washing, the ironing etc etc.
But I'm not in the mood for any of that and besides, I already washed the dishes, did the last load of laundry AND ironed two baskets of clothes...I think I've done pretty good for being half out of it. Right???

I've been online trying to find some places to head to this summer, there's still so much we haven't seen of Arizona but quite frankly the heat just makes you want to stay indoors where the AC is blasting full force. But we're adventurous and we're brave and we're willing to go through a little uncomfortable ride to get to some awesome places, like these:

Tombstone, Arizona

Grand Canyon

The Pima Air & Space Museum

Don't they all look appealing??? But I tell you right now that chances are instead of going, I'll be sitting at home with a bowl of these:

Not a bad trade off, I think!

I wanted to point you in the direction of some very cute amazing wonderful sweet gorgeous awesome blogs that I recently found.

♥♥ The first one is Home Sanctuary, Rachel is the owner and she has come up with a feature called Company Girls (you can see the little button on my sidebar), and you can read more about it here and join in too if you wish. The whole concept is to make our homes Sanctuaries for our Families...that's all it took for me to say "I'm THERE".

♥♥ My Country Home, Leslie is exactly who I want to be when I grow up *snicker* I'm serious, this woman is just amazing when it comes to decorating and since I've recently gotten interested in Prim Decorating, she's my hero. If you have the time, go on over and check her out and make sure you are willing to spend an hour or so browsing her posts and all her projects.

♥♥ The Simple Woman, what can I say, apart from being the host of my new favorite meme "Simple Woman's Daybook", Peggy is just the sweetest lady.

Really, if you have a chance, go see those ladies, I promise you won't be disappointed. Me, I'm heading to the kitchen right now, I have to get my fish ready for dinner, I'm roasting it in the oven with some red peppers, onions and tomato and throwing in some potatoes to roast too. It's SO good!

Last night's dinner was a vegetable lasagna which the kids actually loved, I wasn't sure how it would go down seeing as there was no meat whatsoever, so I was pleasantly surprised.

And since you've all commented on the Cheesecake, I will say that it's gone. I don't know how, I wasn't there...well....I WAS but we won't tell anyone right??? My poor hips are begging for mercy right about now and I'm going to let them rest from the cheesecake attack but only for a bit, because there's no way I can go for a few months without having it again.

There's bound to be a birthday or a celebration of some kind coming up right? Actually...my birthday is August 10th. YIPPEE!

I hate pictures like this, they tempt you through the computer monitor. If you want to try this cheesecake for yourself, I'll post the recipe on my food blog later.....oh and here's another, one of you asked about a Chocolate Cheesecake, this is my next victim LOL Chocolate Turtle Cheesecake!

Finally I want to ask you for a few prayers, I can't say the details or exactly what or how for now, but there is a possibility that we may, possibly, maybe, hopefully be able to get stationed back at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho, in the near future. You all know how much we love Idaho and it would be a dream come true to go back, so if you could just say a little prayer, I'm leaving it all in the Lord's hands but just asking that if this is where we are supposed to be headed then may the doors be opened and the path be cleared.

Have a wonderful Tuesday ladies, God Bless,

I'm sorry you're so tired - I know that feeling very well!

I'll keep you guys in my prayers - I know how much you liked being stationed in Idaho. I felt the same way when my ex and I left Dover!

Hi. Thanks for stopping over at my journey and saying Hi. I do hope that you can get some sleep tonight. Maybe you should just take a 20 min. power nap if you can keep the kids occupied don't know thier ages. Maybe set them down on a quilt and picnic in front of a good movie or something and you can snooze on the couch.
I loved reading your blog today. I love the same ones you do too so we will probably be seeing a lot of each other.
Come over tomorrow for Word Filled Wednesday.
Nice meeting you. I'll be praying for you.
Blessings,
Sherry

I totally feel your pain/tiredness!
I struggle with that too.
I will keep you in my prayers- that would be awesome for you to be transferred where your heart is.
I have never been to the Grand Canyon, but I would love to!

Those places all look like fun. I don't think I am brave enough to walk on the Grand Canyon walkway! Looks a little scary!

Oh my gosh I'd love to go to the Grand Canyon. That is something else isn't it.

Hope you get some sleep tonight.

115? Whoa. That is more than just hot. Yikes!

I'm so bummed that we weren't able to make it to the grand canyon while we were there, it's my one regret! But it was just too far away for more driving and it would have exhausted the kids (and me!) out. I heard Sedona is beautiful and cooler temp wise than the Phoenix area.

If you're looking for somewhere to go and a reason for a party -well you guys are more than welcome to come down this way next weekend for Kayla's bowling birthday party on the 19th! :)

Hey you were just talking to us about how much you want to go back to Mtn Home! I didn't realize this could be a real possibility! Will keep you in my prayers that it all works out!

I have not been sleeping well at all either. I toss and turn in the hopes that I'll just drop off to sleep, when what I really should probably do is get up. But then I'd just do house chores and who wants to do that at 3am? The veggie lasagna looks delish. Have you posted the recipe somewhere? I'd love to try it. Stay COOL!

Thanks for leaving a message for me. I couldn't email you back, though ... no email info.

We haven't chatted in such a long time!!

Yes, we're having a great day ... not as hot here though. I've heard it say that summer is an indoor season around your parts!

Your blog is looking as cute as can be. I love some of the things you did to it, and would love to learn how you designed it!!!

I just noticed that my feed doesn't register from where I live, but rather Houston, TX ... that's where the server that I use at work is located. Clever ... but odd. Well, at least it keeps me safe, but confuses the people I visit...

Anyway, stay cool and have a wonderful week!

I'm praying for you to go back to Idaho which I can see you truly miss and love.

Maybe you are so tired and can't sleep because of the time adjustment from South Africa, I've heard it can take weeks. I too toss and turn some nights and I know what you mean by the panic that sets in when your realize it is almost time to get up yet you are exhausted. Usually this is when I fall asleep.

Boy that cheesecake does look good. I am going to copy the recipe. My family would really enjoy this one.

Moment by moment - you'll get through the day!

Prayers sent on your moving situation.

And that cheesecake looks SO dangerous. But maybe the cherries counteract the effect on the hips?? Please??

So sorry you couldn't sleep, and had that kind of a day, after. But you certainly made it through.

And bet you were kept awake, thinking about your possible wonderful move. Best wishes on that!
