Cooking, Crafting and Cleaning!

country home Pictures, Images and Photos

It's what's around me today.

My kids are BOTH off to school, praise the Lord. My little boy is feeling so much better just after two doses of the antibiotics and allergy medication. His nose has stopped running, he wasn't congested at all last night and the humidifier helped a LOT too. Thank you all for the well wishes and prayers, wish I could personally give you a hug, but a cyber hug will have to do.

I have the house to myself which means I'll be able to get the floors swept and mopped without having little feet constantly running on top of them. Dangerous AND annoying when you're busy mopping isn't it?
I have about two loads of laundry to wash and hang outside on the line, then finish baking my cinnamon rolls and get the Slow Cooked Chicken and Dumplings going.

Then I have a couple more Advent Calendar envelopes to get through and I want to start my new ornaments for the tree too. See, I have a really big family and they're so far and it's sad that we can't be together during the holidays, so I decided to make either fleece stars or hearts or something with the name of each family member embroidered on. It will make me feel closer to home :)

Now let me show some more photos of my day, while the kids were out in the backyard playing yesterday afternoon, I happened to walk to the door and this caught my eye:

This is new LOL

I have no idea what was so interesting up on the picnic table that Lola thought to get up there...is she trying to seem taller for the big dogs next door?

One of our nightly routines include homework with Jasmine and the way we do it in our house is that anything to do with languages and english and spelling, comes to mommy. The minute she pulls out the math, then we're in trouble LOL

I'm HORRIBLE at math, I still count on my fingers and toes *snort*

They're already doing Algebra but honestly I don't recall doing this kind of Algebra until at least 6th or 7th grade if that. This is ridiculous, I'm so glad she understands it cause I get a headache just looking at the paper.

Well my cinnamon rolls are ready, so I need to get going on the laundry. Here I made quite a few so help yourselves to one or two :)

You know I was enjoying the glimpse into your day. Really all is well and then you offer a treat that I can't even get my mouth around. How mean is that. LOL. Your rolls are looking very divine. I should venture into the kitchen and cook something up special for my husband.

Why, thank you! I love cinnamon buns, especially the ones with caramel sauce on them - reminds me of the ones my Mom bakes. You have such a lovely blog - I spent some time catching up on your posts. And adding recipes to my list!!

I love your new header - it's gorgeous!! Did you do it? Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to you - we are celebrating this weekend and I'm doing the carrots as soon as I say goodbye.

I would like to see what and how you make your holiday items. The cinnamon rolls look delicious and I am with you on math - hubby has to help with it.
