Yay time for another Tackle it Tuesday. I was hoping to use my backyard as the project, but it will still be a few weeks before that one is completed, mainly because we have to grow grass out there etc.

So for today I tackled one of my dresser drawers.

I have one drawer that was just collecting unnecessary stuff. I think everytime I had some piece of paper or a photo or something that I didn't know what to do with, I just threw it in there and eventually ended up with this:

Not a pretty sight is it???

I realized that I was trying to fit the rest of my clothes on the other 3 drawers and just shoving them in there and squashing them together because I had no more room.
So this morning, I got up, sat at the computer and realized that it was Tackle it Tuesday and I hadn't done anything. I literally forced myself back up the stairs to reorganize this drawer. It wasn't easy but I did it LOL

So now I can put all my winter pj's, shorts etc in that drawer, which left a lot of room to do the rest of the dresser. Here is the finished project:

I feel so much better having gotten to that drawer, I'm ashamed to say that it had been collecting all that junk for years. Thank you Janice for getting me going with these projects, if it wasn't for you and Tackle it Tuesday, I think the drawer would have remained like that until I died LOL

For a list of other participants, head on over to 5 Minutes for Mom, and if you play along, just add your name to the linky over there. See ya next week!!!

  1. YAY, it looks good..I'm working on my tackle it tuesday right now, but that drawer gives me an idea for next week! :) TTYL
    Big Hugs

PS, I promise I'll get you my se7ens list soon..lol Iknow, I'm such a procrastinator!!!! LOL I'm working on that too!!! :)

  2. Wonderful!! I have a few drawers that look like that. I will be getting to them eventually. I need to reorganize and get rid of things because, like you, I end up cramming clothes in and not having enough room. But first I need to get my major disasters done. LOL

So GREAT of you to force yourself back up stairs to do this project. I too had to force myself and I am so glad I did!!

  3. Wow, great job! Don't you just love the extra room to spread out? And I'd bet a lot of the papers in that drawer weren't all that important to begin with, were they? So much of clutter is exactly that--clutter.

  4. Oh the joys of clutter! I have a um, dare I admit this, a whole dresser full of 7 drawers FULL of clutter, sewing stuff, pictures, papers...its a whole darn dresser!

Well, you got my kudo's...wanna come over and sort mine?

  5. Good job girl! I have so many drawers like that. Will eventually be tackling those too:)

  6. Wow, great job! That looks wonderful.

  7. We all have our drawers, for me they are tops of freezers and kitchen tables and I am conquering them one by one. You did very well, give yourself a pat on the back! My TackTues. is up!

  8. I have a drawer that looks exactly like that! I throw all of my scrapbooking stuff and photos into it, and it looks awful.
Maybe that will be one of my future Tackle It projects.
Your drawer looks great, you did an awesome job.

  9. Sandra - what an awesome job you did. I still didn't finish my project for this week, because I have no clue what to do with the books - lol.
Regarding the drawer you tackled: don't we all have a drawer like that somewhere in the house. I actually have two of them. Gave me an idea for next week - thanks.

  10. drawers - yuck! I'll not run out of TT to do until I've hit every drawer in this house!!! But you did a good job! *clap, clap, clap*
