{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 01/28/2019 }

Good morning everyone, hope you've had a wonderful weekend.

I didn't get a chance to do any posts, as I was busy with family.  We met my brother and his family for breakfast on Saturday morning, and then Jasmine had to work as well, so it was a bit of a rushed Saturday.

Sunday we did absolutely nothing, Nick is once again coming down with a cold, Jasmine was tired from work and cramping because, you know......girly things, and my husband just wanted to relax before returning to work this morning.  So we stayed home, played computer games together and just enjoyed a day of family.

Now here we are again, the beginning of a new week and I need to get a lot of housework done today, since I didn't really do much the past two days.

Let's get started with our Happy Homemaker Monday and see what is on the agenda for us all this week.

The weather:::
Looks like we are having a pretty mild week around here.  This past weekend was quite cold, freeze on the grass and the cars and all.  We're starting off today at 37 degrees so it's a bit on the cold side but nothing compared to the 20 degrees we just had.

On my reading pile:::
Secrets at Cedar Cabin by Colleen Coble.

Movies or Shows I watched this weekend:::
Nothing at all, but I AM catching up on Outlander this morning as I type up this post and go about my day.

On my TV:::
General Hospital
Heartland
Home Alone (ID Discovery)
Dead Silent (ID Discovery)

On the menu for this week:::

Monday 20th
Turkey Chili with Cornbread
Tuesday 21st
Tamale Pie, Salad
Wednesday 22nd
Hot Sesame Pork with Basmati Rice
Thursday 23rd
Spaghetti, Texas Toast Cheese Garlic Bread, Broccoli
Friday 3rd
Fried Chicken with Milk Gravy, Coleslaw, Mashed Potatoes
Saturday 4th
Cheese Enchiladas, Mexican Rice, Salad
Sunday 5th
Pork Roast with Potato Casserole, Veggies

On my to do list:::
Housework
Homeschooling
Sewing - have two items my brother asked me to patch for him
Laundry

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Still working on the Buffalo Plaid Blanket, didn't get a chance to even pick it up the past few days.

Looking around the house:::
Hot mess, that's what it is.  My floors desperately need vacuuming, and the house needs a good dusting as well.  See, it's not always perfect around here, I also have my moments where the house is not all that put together.

From the camera:::
I wish I could live completely surrounded by books, of every size, of every color and subject.

What I'm wearing today:::
Still in my nightie, but have my sweat pants on already because I'm cold.  It's going to be a sweats, long sleeved shirt and slippers kind of day.

One of my simple pleasures:::
Spending time with my family.  Life gets super busy and time just seems to slip away from us, so any chance we get to sit together and have a meal, even if just meeting for breakfast, is something I really enjoy.

Bible verse, Devotional:::

I so wish we had your weather. It's gonna get frightening cold in our area. I love books too. I hope to get my reading time in today after I winterize the chicken coop. It needs a few more touches to get through this cold arctic blast. Have a great week.

Sounds like a you had a nice family weekend, Sandra, and your menus look great! I've got a copy of THE PRAIRIE TRAVELER sitting right here beside on my TO READ pile. Perhaps after reading it we can exchange notes. Are you reading it now? Have a great week ahead! <3

Right? I don't like my house a mess but sometimes it's unavoidable hahaha I HAVE however been cleaning all morning and am about to finish and there's nothing like a fresh, clean home :) Have an amazing week!!!

I'm sorry you're getting such cold weather. The most we're having today is super high winds which are quite chilly but I'm sure nothing like what you're having to endure. I'm sending you warm vibes :) Have a wonderful week.

yes... book love... our library just held a big book sale, and dang if they weren't charging way too much! They were sitting on a big meeting room full of books too... seems like they might make them cheaper. But I love a book... I would rather handle a book than scroll from page to page, know what I mean?

I'm always happy with my housekeeping if I stay on top of laundry and dishes. The rest of it will stay put til I get to it. LOL Keep warm!!

I'd love to be having your weather right now. It's too cold here.
I agree about time just slipping away from us. It feels like my kids were just little things and now I have two teenagers. It goes by too quickly and we don't seem to notice when it's happening.

Oh I love library sales, and also the free books that are sometimes on the rack. I have far too many books but I can't seem to part with them :)

Hahahah sounds like me. My Kindle is full, I have tons coming in for review and I still can't help but want to go to the library or the book store. Have a great week too!

It's a never ending job, isn't it? LOL Have a great week!

I'm so sorry it's cold where you are, hope it warms up for you :) Time is crazy, I feel the same way, my kids were just toddlers the other day and now they are turning 20 and 16 in April. Insane.
