Good morning everyone, how was your weekend?
I had a fantastic one. We had a lot of family time and realized just how much we had been missing it, and how important it is to connect, talk, hang out. We live in a very fast, chaotic and often times isolating world. People tend to go off into their own corners of the house and only really see each other during meals, and sometimes not even then.
My husband and I try very hard to keep the kids engaged and out of their rooms. Not to say that we don't give them their space and don't allow a day of just being lazy and doing what they want, but even then, we are constantly checking in, talking to them and so forth.
So Saturday, we had a nice dinner out and then a stroll around the mall, we hadn't done that in a long time and all enjoyed it.
Yesterday, Curt and I did some odd jobs around the house, then we spent the afternoon with the kids, in the living room watching movies. It was such a nice afternoon, we ate snacks, had popcorn, bacon sandwiches and chips and soda and just hung out. Perfect!!!
Anyway, good morning again, I hope you have a fantastic week ahead. Let's get on with our Happy Homemaker Monday.
Glorious!!! This weekend we had high 60's, blue skies, bright sun and it felt like proper Spring weather. This week is another good one, more high temps and some more rain as well.
Monday - Sunny, 67º
Tuesday - Sunny, 67º
Wednesday - AM clouds, PM sun, 60º
Thursday - Mostly Sunny, 66º
Friday - PM Showers, 65º
Saturday - Showers, 65º
Sunday - PM Thunderstorms, 71º
On my reading pile:::

Movies or Shows I watched this weekend:::
Yesterday afternoon, the whole family watched Aquaman and Once Upon a Deadpool
Aquaman was BRILLIANT, not just because Jason Momoa is in, of course *wink wink*, but it was just a really good movie.
Once Upon a Deadpool was HILARIOUS!!! Oh my goodness, I had such a good laugh with that one.
Before going to bed last night, Curt and I watched another episode of In Search Of with Zachary Quinto. We really enjoy that show.
On my TV:::
Call the Midwife
On the menu for this week:::
Going grocery shopping on Friday, so have meals planned just until then.
Better than Olive Garden's Fettucine Alfredo, Garlic Bread, Salad
Roast Chicken Thighs with Potatoes, Veggies
Teriyaki Steak with Rice
Yummy Hero Sandwiche
On my to do list:::
Wash bed linens and hang out to dry
Make clothes peg bag
Continue with Crochet Tulips
What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
I have so many projects just hanging about. I need to get back into the crochet groove and start finishing these off. For the moment though I'm working on the tulips.
Looking forward to:::
Hopefully the meds working and getting rid of this clogged ear and ringing that is still going on. Doctor did say it would take 7 days for the meds to clear this fluid out, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The ringing is quite loud today and I'm having to really concentrate on everything else around me so the sound doesn't drive me insane.
Looking around the house:::
I'm still in the bedroom, Jasmine doesn't work today so I have the day all to myself and my homemaking and I plan on taking full advantage of that. I will be opening the backdoor soon, opening the curtains and all the windows in the house to let in the fresh air.
From the camera:::
Love the crochet tulips, they look so delicate and pretty.
What I'm wearing today:::
Still in my nightgown but will go change into a tank top and some shorts, as soon as I'm done with this post.
One of my simple pleasures:::
Movie afternoons with my family.
Bible verse, Devotional, prayers:::
I am so disappointed with this whole college scandal situation and Lori Loughlin's involvement. I've been a huge fan of hers for many years, and I had a lot of respect for her. This just threw me for a loop, and I'm sure everyone else too. It's frustrating to think that these celebrities feel their money allows them to do whatever they wish with no consequences, but it's even worse when it's someone you truly think are good and respected.
The fact that it's affected When Calls the Heart, is just another punch in the gut.
But with that said, I think we also need to remember that they are celebrities but are also human, and humans make mistakes, sometimes huge incredibly dumb mistakes, but mistakes nonetheless. Everyone deserves a second chance, and I pray that Lori has learned from this. It's a sad situation all around.
