It's never easy saying goodbye!

I love having family visiting but I absolutely detest the airport drop offs. It's just heartbreaking and no matter how much you tell yourself not to cry, you always end up in a total mess, a blubbering idiot.

We just dropped off my brother, sister in law and niece and nephew at the airport, they are flying back to South Africa.

It's been an amazing month, we've had so much fun, so many laughs and so many weird and idiotic things happen that have left us laughing until our sides hurt. It's all about making memories, and believe me when I tell you, we certainly did that.

Over the next few days I'll post some photos for you as I settle back into the normal routine.

I have to say I've missed blogging, missed sharing my days with you and I do hope you're all still around here somewhere, lurking.

Let me start by sharing some photos of our trip to Disney, let's just say that it truly is the happiest place on earth, if you've never been you MUST make a plan to go. Yes it's pricey and we spent way more money than we anticipated, but it was worth it.

We arrived in Anaheim, California on Thursday morning (1st of July), we opted to stay at the Motel 6 just down the road from Disneyland and I tell you, we loved it. The motel looked great inside, very modern and not dingy like some of the Motel 6's we've stayed in before. It was affordable and had a pool too.

We opted to do the 1 day 1 park tickets and picked the Disneyland Park. We walked in at 10am and didn't leave until midnight....my legs were killing me but I could have easily stayed another 10 hours if need be, there just doesn't seem to be enough time to do everything and matter of fact, we did miss out on a few rides.

The Haunted Mansion - not scary at all but very well done

Pirates of the Caribbean - LOVED this one.

So hard to get good pictures inside when you're not allowed to use the flash, but you just can't quite get the feeling from the photos. You just have to go yourself.

Tarzan's Treehouse - Another wonderful well done display. If you don't like heights I suggest you don't go, it's pretty high up in the tree.

Indiana Jones - By far our favorite ride, the lines were super long but it was SO worth the wait, we would have gone again if the wait wasn't so long. You can NOT miss this one if you make it to Disney.

Pixie Hollow - The kids loved this one and so did the mommies. Here they are meeting Iridessa.

And Tinker Bell - Our favorite

How stunning is she?

Disney Castle - Before we left the park the had a fireworks display in celebration of the Fourth of July. It was magical, that's the only word I can think of describe it.

Enjoying the rides

Peter Pan's Flight - Another of our favorites, it's amazing the way they make it seem like you really are flying above the stars.

I have many more photos but I just had to share this one. Not for anything in particular other than the fact that it's not a ride, it's a little Pineapple Juice Vendor.

Only we didn't know that, because all the lines are so big, after walking around for hours we saw this huge one and thought it was for some great ride LOL

We waited for 45 minutes only to get to the front and see that it was selling juice LOL

I tell you, my sister in law and I almost peed ourselves laughing, we still burst into giggles when we remember us standing there for 45 minutes in the heat for juice LOL

So much fun and now we're back home and relaxing.

It's almost like you need a vacation from your vacation when the dust settles.

I'm off to do some housework, wash some laundry and putter around here a bit. I'll be back with more photos from our California trip, I have some from the Queen Mary and the Walk of Fame.

Sandra,

They usually sell ice cream that is pineapple flavored but I guess they were out. Looks like you really got through everything. Did you make it to California Adventure?

Looks like you had a great vacation. I love Disney although I know what you mean by needing a vacation from your vacation. Disney is busy, busy, busy....I am enjoying your pictures. We are trying to do Disney on our way to our new duty station in WA.

I know you hated to say good-bye to your family but you have a big family in blogland that loves you lots and lots.

I know Disneyland is expensive but oh so worth it. I remember how much the food cost but they always served lots and lots and everything we ate was delicious. I still can taste the wonderful fruit plate that I got at one place. YUMMY!
