{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 02/18/2019 }

Good Morning everyone and a very Happy President's Day!!!

If you are observing this holiday, then I hope you have a fantastic day off work and school, and take time to get an extra day in to relax before heading back to work.

We had another relaxed weekend.  I've found that my family does not really enjoy doing too much on the weekends, we prefer to stay in and take it easy.  That's not to say that we don't also enjoy going out at times, but for the most part, weekends are for us to do absolutely nothing.

However, that means that with today being a holiday, I left half of the laundry until today.  That whole thing of putting it off for the moment, always sounds better when you say it.  Now I'm staring at the pile and wishing I had gone ahead and just thrown it in with the rest.  Oh well, lesson learned.

Anyway, hope you all have a great week, let's get going with our Happy Homemaker Monday.

The Weather:::
A little cloudy outside and only 24 degrees, so a bit chilly out.  This week has me a bit confused on the weather, but then that seems to be the norm in this area.  We did have snow forecast for tomorrow, which was a little strange, but now it's changed to rain.

Monday - Mostly cloudy, 43º
Tuesday - Showers, 35º
Wednesday - Partly cloudy, 55º
Thursday - Cloudy, 59º
Friday - Thunderstorms, 54º
Saturday - Thunderstorms and Wind, 60º
Sunday - Sunny, 60º

Right now I am:
Sitting at my desk.  I'm still in my pajamas and robe, drinking my coffee, eating my breakfast and working on this post.

Thinking:
That I need to call and book my mammogram, it's about that time of the year.

On my reading pile:::
The Woman in the Lake by Nicola Cornick.  Such a good book.

On my tv:::
In Search Of.....I think this series is from 2017, but it's with Zachary Quinto and he looks into all sorts of things, like aliens, people with superhuman strength etc.  It's quite interesting and the hubby and I started it last night.
Vlogs on Youtube
Still watching the Ted Bundy Tapes on Netflix
The Umbrella Academy....sounds interesting

Favorite Blog or blog post this week:::
I hope you've been enjoying the links I've been sharing.  There are some really good old fashioned blogs out there, that I've been enjoying.  Estelle's is another that has gone on my sidebar.  She shares recipes, homemaking tips and talks about books she's been enjoying.

Something fun to share:::
You know those days when you want to watch a movie but can't figure out what to watch?  You know we have all been there.  This happens to me not just with movies but with tv shows as well, I'll have a huge list of ones I really want to see, but can't figure out which one.

There is a website called A Good Movie To Watch, that actually helps you do that.  You can search by movies, shows, current, new, most popular, genre etc.

On the menu for this week:::

Have to work on the new menu and will be grocery shopping on Friday, so only have meals for half the week.  I'm not sure what I'm making on Thursday either, I'll see what I have left in the freezer and figure something out.

Monday - Sausage Fettucine Bake
Tuesday - Chicken Stronoff, Mashed Potatoes
Wednesday - One pot cheeseburger macaroni, Salad
Thursday
Friday -
Saturday -
Sunday -

On my to do list:::
Laundry - One load of pants/jeans to do.
Homeschooling - Some sign language videos Nick needs to record
Exercise  - I did my 7 minute workouts all of last week.  I am not exercising on the weekends.  So far, I have not lost any weight but my clothes are feeling bigger on me and not so snug.  My first reaction was to think that I was not going to do this anymore.  Such is the thing with us human beings, we tend to want results immediately don't we?  So what I'm doing is the 7 minute workouts every day when I can fit them in, then nothing on the weekends.  I'm also watching my calories and my portions and trying to eat healthier.  I'm not setting a goal to lose weight by, I don't need that kind of pressure on me.  Just going to do this for as long as I want and see what happens.

Looking around the house:::
I'm sitting in the bedroom and I'm a little frustrated because Marley decided to bring in one of his toys and then proceed to remove all the filling, so looking behind my chair, I see a floor that looks like a blanket of snow.  I need to get that cleaned up when I'm done here on the blog.
Other than that, the usual cleaning and tidying needs doing.  It's quiet at the moment, save for Curt playing a game on his computer in the office.

From the camera:::
My yards have been filled with birds of all shapes, sizes and colors.  I have about 10 Cardinals that hang around the yards, and I just love watching them.  What a glorious little being God as created, so beautiful in all it's detail.

On my prayer list:::
My uncle Tony is having some breathing issues, he is currently on medication and will be having some xrays done this Tuesday, please keep him in your prayers.
My friend Stacey still needs prayers, as well as Courtney's husband Matthew who is fighting brain cancer.

Bible verse, Prayer, Devotional:::
Lord, teach us how to be as faith-filled as Martha, and trust Your promises, no matter how impossible they seem. Remind us that with You all things are possible, including Your resurrection and ours. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Gosh, how amazing it must be to see a Cardinal in real life. They look so gorgeous! How are you liking the Ted Bundy tapes? I'm curious to know, as I thought about watching that but wasn't sure I could stomach it. My mum has just binge watched the entire season of the Umbrella Academy and said it was great. I hope you have a great week!

Thank you for the suggestions on the movies and to Estelle's blog. I'm going to enjoy both. LMBO at Marley's antics - at least he's having fun. Have a wonderful week.

Enjoyed reading your post this morning. Aren't the cardinals fun to watch? We had a large group hang around here last winter and I loved it. Hope you have a wonderful week!

There are not many birds here in our yard, not many in this part of CO like songbirds. I miss the Cardinals of MD... I did see a hawk or eagle last week, on the ground drinking from meltwater. Enormous... didn't flinch when it saw a 60 lb poodle and I walk by.
My dog regularly de-fluffs toys. I bought him one of the no fluff, just skins toys and he enjoyed it too much, eating some of it!

They are beautiful birds, and I always enjoy seeing one flutter on by, but to see so many in my yard, at once, is a treat for sure :) I'll have to watch the Umbrella Academy, thank you for letting me know your mum binged it and enjoyed it :)

We have two hawks that constantly fly above my house. They really are not scared are they??? My 80 pound dog can be out there and they don't even flinch lol

I'll have to look into one of those toys for Marley, cause he LOVES de-fluffing toys and it's such a mess.

I know what you mean about putting off that housework. And my kiddos are home all this week so I have a feeling a lot of things are going by the wayside. Lol

Your temps look so dreamy! Feel free to send some warmth to the north. ;0) Love the movie tip. And the cardinal shot is gorgeous! Have a blessed week my Friend xoxo
