{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 04/22/2019 }

Good morning friends, how was your Easter weekend?

I had a blessed one with my family, brother and sister in law and nephew.  We had a delicious lunch, chatted, caught up on life, laughed as always and then played some VR games, which are always a ton of fun.  I feel incredibly thankful to have family near by.

I have a pretty easy week, Jasmine is only working two days so that frees up a lot of my week and we are expecting some major storms too, so I'm happy to be home and not out in the mess.

I've noticed some new faces around, so I wanted to welcome you to my blog and our Happy Homemaker Monday.  I hope you enjoy participating and feel free to take a look around, read some of my older posts, and do say hi down below so that I can come and see your blog and visit too :)

Alright, let's get on with our HHM!!!

The weather:::
We have some bad storms coming in tonight, it's getting to that time of the year where Tornado season is almost upon us, and living in Tornado alley inevitably brings some pretty intense weather.  The temperatures have surely warmed up and we've been in the 80's, but this week we will see a bit of a drop because of the 3 day intense weather heading our way.

Monday - Cloudy, 80º
Tuesday - Scattered Thunderstorms, 84º
Wednesday - Thundershowers, 65º
Thursday - Showers, 75º
Friday - Sunny, 80º
Saturday - Partly cloudy, 87º
Sunday - Mostly sunny, 86º

On my reading pile:::
By Invitation Only by Dorothea Benton Frank

Movies or Shows I watched this weekend:::
Nothing, I have not had a chance to watch any kind of TV this weekend, it's been one of those busy, haven't had time to even sit, kinda weekends.

On my TV this week:::
General Hospital
Homemaking vlogs
The Act

On the menu for this week:::
Monday
Chicken Tetrazzini, Salad
Tuesday
One Pot Baked Ziti with Ricotta
Wednesday
Chili Dogs
Thursday
Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan, Rice
Friday
One Skillet Mexican Rice Casserole
Saturday
Out to dinner for Jasmine's Birthday
Sunday

Panda Express Chow Mein Noodles

On my to do list:::
Change bedding and wash linens
Iron a load of washing
Edit and post recipes on food blog
Take Jasmine to work

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::

I am working on more placemats.

Looking forward to:::

Finding some time to sit and read my book.  It's getting harder to fit my reading in during the day, I'm either busy, or by the time I sit in bed to read, I fall asleep.

Looking around the house:::
We had family over yesterday so I need to give the dining area a quick clean and tidy.  Just have to remove the table leaf, and get rid of some of the extra chairs we put out.  The rest of the house is clean so I don't need to worry about it today.

From the camera:::
These two sweetheart :)

What I'm wearing today:::
Comfy shorts and a tank top.

One of my simple pleasures:::
A cup of hot coffee while it rains outside.  I like to open the back patio door, watch and listen to the rain and enjoy the coffee.

Bible verse, Devotional, prayers:::

I LOVE that inspiration today - I really try hard to make that a way of life everyday! I hope your storms are mild and refreshing instead of stifling - I always dreaded this time of year in Texas. What adorable birds! Ironically my camera pictures this week are birds too, a different kind, but birds nonetheless :D Have a WONDERFUL week my friend.

Good luck with the weather this week, we will be getting most of ours Thursday. I've been struggling reading as well, I blame all this sunny weather, it makes me want to get up and do stuff.

Have a great week!

We also live in Tornado Alley. It can definitely be scary with the bad weather. Hopefully the storms aren't too bad for you guys. Your meal plan looks delicious, but then again it always does. Jasmine's birthday is coming up? I can't believe how grown up your kids are. They were just little kiddos when I first started reading your blog and now Jasmine is all grown up and Nicolas is pretty much all grown up too. It's shocking! lol
Hope you have a wonderful week!

So happy you had a lovely Easter. Praying that you're safe during this tornado season ahead and that kind of weather steers clear of you. ;)

Blessings on your week ahead Sandra! xoxo

Your menus look great, Sandra! Reminded me...I've got a small tub of ricotta in the fridge that needs used. Should probably try to use it this week. Beautiful love birds! Look just like the pair that my daughter had when she was a girl...Frisco and Felicia from our General Hospital days! LOL! <3 Have a blessed week ahead! <3
