{ Blog 365 #76 - Please pray }

Life is so short, and things change in the blink of an eye.

Yesterday, my husbands good friend and co-worker, got a phone call that his wife Miss Diane, had been in a car accident.

It was a huge accident that actually made the news here.

Here is the article, if you want to take a look.

Miss Diane was stopped at the intersection, in her car, when a drunk driver came flying down the highway, and slammed into her at high speed.  She had to be resuscitated and life flighted to an out of town hospital.

She is stable at the moment, but suffered quite extensive injuries.  Please please pray for Miss Diane, she is such a sweet lady.  Also pray for her husband Terry.  I can't even imagine how he is feeling.  He was with my husband when he got the call.  Heartbreaking!

{ Do not fear, but be prepared }

IMG_2713

I wish I could say that I am having a great day, or that my heart is full of joy.  The truth however, is that my heart is heavy, and my soul burdened with the current situation in Ukraine.  It is mind boggling to me that in this day and age, we are still observing these kind of wars, these kind of invasions and total disregard for human life.

Here we are, sitting in a warm house, safe, joyful and free, while thousands of miles away, mothers are trying to soothe their children under the sound of sirens and explosions, and husbands and fathers are picking up arms, and preparing to fight for their nation.  It really is heartbreaking.

But my heart breaks for the citizens of Russia as well, because they too did not choose this at all, and are also being thrown into the middle of this conflict.

As Christians we have to pray, pray for the innocent lives that will be caught in the crossfire of this senseless war.  We also need to pray for the people in power of both nations, for discernment, for wisdom, that the Holy spirit speaks to their hearts and they listen to God.

So although our hearts may feel broken or burdened, we are not to be fearful.  We need to prepare because if you have ever studied history or researched wars of this kind or any kind, for that matter, it ends up having an effect on everyone.  It has a trickling effect that absolutely touches every nation in the world.

So we pray, and we prepare.  Make sure that you are stock piling, even if you can only afford a few extra cans of soup when you get groceries, that's fine.  Just remember that gas prices will soar even more, it will affect food chains, and so on.  This isn't meant to scare anyone, but we need to be keeping our eyes on God, and praying ourselves, our families and the rest of the world, though this season.

I'll close in saying, remember to read Matthew 24:6.

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.

The winter storm we've been under, is still hanging on.  Our roads are so icy, so icy, that we are pretty much stuck at home without being able to leave.  Traveling is tricky, I have seen many videos of traffic on the highways sliding and struggling to stay on the road.

Thankfully the snow and ice stopped last night, but the temperatures are still pretty cold, and without sun and warmth to start melting the ice, we may just be stuck again tomorrow.

Schools in the area have been closed all week, and so has the base.

I tell you, I love winter, but at this point, I'm ready for it to leave, take it's snow and ice and let spring come alive.

As we were all sitting around talking about what is happening, Nick made a comment that made us laugh, because he said that it's my moment to shine, if things get difficult.  He said that I have spent years reading up on history, learning about the great depression, world war I and II, wartime recipes, rationing and so forth.

I found it funny that he said that.  But truly, the more I think on it now, the more I realize that all that knowledge I learned about in books and documentaries, really can come in handy were we to be thrust into similar situations or difficult times.  The prices of everything right now are already quite bad, and if they continue to rise, I definitely need to take a look at our budget, and start figuring out what to feed my family with the food I am able to get.

I've even thought that maybe I could do a fun series over here on the blog and together with the food blog too, on easy, cheap meals, ration recipes, wartime and so on.  It would be educational for us all, but also provide some ideas on inexpensive meals to make.

If I do decide to do that, I will need to do a lot more research, but I think it could be interesting.

For dinner tonight we are keeping it easy, everyone wants to do just leftovers, or sandwiches or cereal.  I guess no one is very hungry for a big meal, which is fine with me.  I will probably have a cup of tea and a sandwich later.

Right now, I am going to read my devotional for today and my Bible, and then probably read my book.  I haven't felt much like watching anything on TV, nothing is catching my interest today.

I am praying I wake up to clear roads tomorrow, so that we can all get back on track, back to work and our normal routines.

Have a wonderful rest of Thursday.  Please remember to stop for a few minutes and pray for the people of Ukraine, Russia and the world in general.  We all need prayer right now.

{ Prayers for my mother in law Pat }

I've been pretty quiet on here.

I am trying very hard to get this post out without jumbling everything up.  At the moment, my mind is at full speed, thoughts swirling, constant prayers going up and trying to stay focused.

You know that a lot has been going on for us.  This year has been extremely difficult for many people, and we have also been thrown into the middle of that chaos.  Every family I speak to is going through a trial, a season, a desert, a phase that doesn't seem to have an end in sight.

Yesterday morning we got a phone call from my wonderful mother in law Pat.  The news she shared were not what we wanted to hear, not what we were expecting and so far removed from my thoughts, that I had to sit down on the couch in the office, and catch my breath.

Pat has been battling cancer for years, and I mean years.  Back in 2007 I made a post asking for prayers for her, she had just told us that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.  We were shocked.  She went through surgery, chemotherapy and beat that cancer.  Was cancer free for 9 years and then 2016 it came back, she fought it again, and then returned again in 2017.

She has been a warrior, so strong, she leaves us in constant awe.

Unfortunately the cancer has spread, and she was given a Stage 4 diagnosis this week, if she does no treatments she has 2 months, if she goes through more chemotherapy she has about 14 months.

This is not a decision that is easy to make, and my heart totally breaks for her.  We want to be selfish and force her to do anything and everything needed to stay around longer, but at what cost?

I don't want her to suffer, I don't want her in pain.  So I'm asking for prayers please, for a miracle from the Lord to cure this horrible disease invading her body, but if it is her time, then prayers for comfort and peace for her, and for her sons, my husband and brother in law.

I will tell you, I am not ready to let her go.  I'm not.  But I can't be selfish, so I will support and respect her decision.

Just please, please send prayers our way.

I am so sorry that I haven't been the best of bloggers.  I tell myself daily to get back on here and just write, write everything and anything because it helps to clear the mind and helps to get through life's difficult moments.......and yet I feel like I have this block when it comes to blogging.

I don't want to stop, I don't want to let my blog go after so many years, but what do I do when I can't seem to open blogger, type anything, or even feel like I am motivated to do so?  I don't have that answer right now, maybe when life calms down a bit I'll be able to get on with it as before, but for the moment I am truly just going with the flow.

Please believe that I am trying my best, but I am also very overwhelmed with life right now, so much so that at times, I feel like I'm in the middle of the ocean, being pulled under and fighting frantically to stay afloat.

Life is just......life is just hard right now.

Thank you for the prayers in advance.  I will keep you updated.

Blessings,
xoxoxoxo

Letting nature do it's job

It is hot out there, my word, scorching crazy heat!!!

I have tried to stay indoors as much as possible, but then again there is a lot of yard work and projects that require us being outside for long periods of time.

I was thinking earlier of how annoying it is to want to be out in the sun doing things but struggling with feeling like you're going to melt....and let's not even talk about the sweating.  The boob sweat is real!!!

There's sweat in places I did not even know existed, just so you get an idea of how hot it has been around these parts.  LOL

{ Scariest moment of my life and prayer request }

You guys, I can't even begin to tell you just how scared I was last night.

If you follow me on Instagram then I'm sure you've seen by now, if not, then I'll point you in that direction so that you can see the video I posted last night.

My day started out like any other, the sun was shining, there were hardly any clouds in the sky, and it was just a nice cool fallish day.

When it just clicks.....

_MG_0047

I was standing at the kitchen sink, a few days ago, and I started to pray.

I'm about to be completely open and honest with you all.  I've always had major issues praying, not because I don't feel comfortable about it or don't like, but because I get myself in such a state thinking that there is a right way to go about it.

Life update!!!

Life has been difficult around here.  I don't know how else to put it, but plainly telling you that I'm struggling through a lot of things at the moment and I've even considered just getting rid of my blog because I don't have time to post, I don't feel that connection to it anymore and I'm not sure if I will get that blogging mojo back ever again.

I don't want to make any concrete decisions that I'll come to regret later on.  All I'm going to do is leave things as they are at the moment and hope that it all comes together in my life and my heart and my head.

I just am feeling extremely beaten down by life, it's a constant barrage of problems, losses, sadness and I don't quite know how to get through all of this.

I'm trying though, really I am, but I'll tell you that I've cried more the past 2 months than I have in the past few years.

I feel like we are under attack as a family, and it's been ever since we moved to Texas.  I don't regret our move, I don't regret the decision to be here and I certainly don't regret the amazing job my husband has.

It almost feels like we are having to fight to keep all this together because it's so good for us as a family, that it's made someone down there extremely irritated.

I've strayed from the Lord.  That's the honest to God's truth.  :(

And it wasn't for any specific reason, other than life got in the way and I got busy and focused on things that really don't need to be focused on.  I removed my sight from what matters, I became a wordly person instead of a Godly child and it's hit me hard, extremely hard.

The past few months have been excruciating, I will tell you that I would be glad to see this year come to an end, even though we're only halfway through it.  The heart ache, the difficult decisions and situations we've had to work through, the losses around us.  They've worn me down.

Lately I look at myself in the mirror and don't recognize the person staring back at me.  I've aged, my health is suffering for it, I've become hardened to a lot of things, I've cussed, I've said things out of anger, and I've tried so very hard to hold on to things and people that are no good for me.

I'm not sharing any of this to garner sympathy.  I just felt that I needed to get it out.  What you're reading is pure, truth, raw.

I feel like a broken woman.  I've had to fight for my marriage to stay together, we've struggled and in the midst of all the drama, problems, financial issues and uncertainties around us, we turned on each other instead of TO each other.  Hurtful things have been said and I honestly thought that my marriage was over.

Then our sweet Lola passed, and for the first time in what seems like forever, we turned TO each other and it felt like coming home after years of being away.  We stopped all the BS, we stopped all the drama and the bitterness and petty fights, and we really focused on us, on our marriage, and getting back to where we need to be.  Things are finally back on track in that area and I'm so extremely thankful and blessed to have my husband back.

Our beautiful daughter Jasmine, is another issue.  It's been so hard dealing with her anxiety and depression.  She is going to therapy, taking medicine for her depression and anxiety, and trying to find her way and who she is.

I was a teenager before, I know how hard it is to feel like you don't know yourself and you don't know who you are and where you fit in.  In my day things were already difficult but I feel like today, with social media and the way society is, it has made it so excruciatingly hard for teenagers.  They all feel like they need to fit within a certain label, a certain group, and there in itself lies the biggest issue.

I'm not going to talk about what all she is feeling or going through because it's private, and it's not something that I feel needs to be put out into the world.

I will share that my husband and I have been trying very hard to help her through everything she's going through, while at the same time struggling with our marital problems, giving her the unconditional love and support she deserves and needs from us, while trying to understand or learn to understand things that we ourselves have never experienced.

I ask you all to pray for her, and I mean pray really hard because at this point, she desperately needs it.

I've reached my breaking point.  I'm ready to give it all back to God again and to ask Him to please take me back and help me through this.  I need to get back to my faith, back to my roots so to speak, back to HIM.

I'm not saying that once I'm there, I will never have issues again or problems again, but I know for a fact having been through it many times before, that I will be able to get through them, and face them much easier than I am now.

It feels like we are in a huge battle at the moment, and to be honest, I felt like we were losing it.  I can't let that happen, I WON'T let that happen.

My family is everything to me.  My husband, my daughter, my son, they are the reason I get up every morning and face another day, even on those days where I want to fall apart and call it quits.  And believe me, there have been many days like that lately.

I'm turning 42 years old in 9 days.  9 days!!!!

I can not, and will not be beaten down.

Is life hard?  Yes!!!
Does it feel unbearable at times? Yes!!!
Does it sometimes feel like we have no break from the negativity?  Yes!!!

But it's up to us to make that change, and to fight it or give in.  We have a choice, and for far too long I've left that choice up to chance, instead of grabbing hold of my own life and placing it in God's more than capable hands.  He's never let me down before.

I'm sorry that this post is not at all like my usual posts here on the blog.  I'm honestly bearing my heart and soul to you all, I've never in my life felt more vulnerable than I do at this moment, but I needed to do this.

People have this idea that my life is perfect, that I'm always happy and nothing goes wrong for us.  So I hope that by reading this, you will finally get a little insight into what it's been like for me.

I need prayer, I need comfort, I need someone to tell me that no matter how big this mountain looks, I will cross it and come out on the other side stronger than ever before.  That I will one day look back on these years and smile because I won the battle before me.

I'm scared, I'm weak, I'm emotionally and physically tired, I'm not myself, I lack motivation, I lack joy and the oomphff I used to have.  I just hope that it will all work out and I'll be back to myself soon.

I am sorry, truly, for neglecting you all as my readers, for neglecting my blog, and my faith and what matters.

Maybe I'm supposed to blog my way through this mess, maybe I'm supposed to use it as a way to jot down my feelings and try to make sense of it all.  I don't know.  I honestly don't know, and that right there is one of the biggest stress factors for me, the uncertainty of what is to come and where this will all end up.

For now, I've turned back to the one and only who can help me through it.  God!!!

Busy Busy Week!

I was doing so well, updating every single day and then this week came along and I've been so busy I haven't quite had the time to come in and do anything.

It's just been one of those weeks for me.  Matter of fact, I haven't even cooked dinner the past two nights.

Tuesday night my husband was in the mood for frozen pizza and on his way home from work, picked two up, so no cooking for me.

Last night we went out to dinner to celebrate my niece's birthday.

_MG_8253

This little girl is now 18 years old. Or so it seems, because in my eyes and I'm sure her mom's and dad's, she will always be that cute little 1 year old running around with her Teletubbies doll.

Just another reminder that time really does fly and before we know it, the kids are all grown up.  I'm not looking forward to my own children reaching that age so fast, I want to keep them little for as long as I can.

_MG_8242

The weather here has been downright pitiful, cold, so very cold and foggy. We were sitting at 7 degrees yesterday, and I mean 7 degrees Fahrenheit which means -13 in Celsius. I am quite ready to hibernate somewhere nice and warm and only pop back out in a few months.

_MG_8243

Our mornings now look like this, and I don't know about you, but for me it doesn't really scream get up and go, more like lay back down and hide. But go we must, and get up we have to, grudgingly, but we do.

I'm making this post super short today, I haven't taken many photos the past two days, like I said I have been so busy.

_MG_8266

I'm going to finish this big cup of coffee.....

_MG_8267

Give Instagram a quick browse through and then I have to get my housework started. Start the laundry, do the dishes, sweep and mop the living room etc.

I have a doctors appointment this afternoon, you know ladies, the appointment we always love going to?????

Yes that one.

I would appreciate some prayers, I have some issues going on and need to get it all checked out, but aside from that I am always so nervous when I have to go to that yearly appointment that it actually makes me sick to my stomach. Ugh!!!

So yeah, prayers for everything to be fine, and for me to have the courage to get it over and done with.

I will try to pop back in later, may take some photos of my day as it goes, and have a quick chat tonight with you all. For now though, I really do need to get my butt in gear and get moving.

So overwhelmed right now.....

I feel as if I'm on this roller coaster of emotions and I can't get off.  I honestly need time to breathe and to relax and to take everything that is going on around me, and make some sense of it.

Remember back in January when Lola had a seizure?  She's been fine since then and I had honestly thought that it was just a one time thing, never to happen again.  In truth, I think I was in denial, because the doctor had told us at the time that when they happen once, more often than not they tend to recur sometime in the future.

So I let my guard down, and yesterday afternoon she had another seizure.  This time she actually fell off the couch onto the ground.  It scared Nicholas to death, and he was quite affected with the whole thing.  I just wish the kids hadn't witnessed it, it's hard enough for me as an adult to see it and to feel so helpless, but for children it can be quite traumatizing.

The only reason I even knew something was wrong is because I heard Nicholas scream and then run out of the living room.  Later he told me that he ran into my bedroom, got on the bed and proceed to pray over and over for God to take care of Lola.  Lump in my throat, I tell you.

Anyway, I picked Lola up, held her, stroked her fur and kept saying "it's ok baby, mommy is here", over and over until she stopped and came out of it.   I don't now what to do in a situation like this, but I just felt like I wanted her to know that I was there?

I knew then that something was going on, so this afternoon we took her to the vet.

$260 later, and blood work done, the vet thinks it is epilepsy but of course they have to rule out everything else, one of them being valley fever.  *sigh*

Will know for sure over the next few days when he calls us with the lab results.

My nerves are already on edge because of many other things going on, and I think this was the catalyst.

One thing I'm not good at is, is flying by the seat of my pants and I'm feeling like a fish out of water right now.  There is just so much going on in my life right now, so many decisions, so many things hanging in limbo.

I have cried a few times since yesterday afternoon, I have prayed, I continue praying and at times I feel like I can't catch my breath.  I hate feeling like I could cry at the drop of a hat, that constant lump in my throat, the burning in my eyes.  Really don't like feeling like that, but here I am.

I consider myself a pretty strong person, pretty optimistic and have a strong faith, but I think that far too often I forget that I'm human, that I have emotions and feelings and that sometimes even the strongest need a break.

So I come to you today and ask that you pray for me, for us, for Lola.

You know the funny thing is that I know in my heart that everything is going to be alright, but maybe I'm tired, emotionally and physically which just exacerbates everything.

Either way, I just need to breathe, to slow down, to just really take a moment and hand it all to God.  But I need help, and I don't like asking for it, it's that whole "makes me look weak" thing.  Shameful, I know.

So if you have a moment and you would like to, I could use prayers right now, for whatever it is you may think I need the most cause frankly I can't even begin to say what it is.

Maybe I need more faith?
Maybe I need to let go and let God?
Maybe I need peace in my heart?
Maybe I just need comfort?

I don't know, I'm just.........I don't know.

A royal mess is what I am, I guess.

Heading to Surgery

2010_08280081

I'm just a mess right now.

So after the whole broken wrist thing, we were told by the ER doctor that it was a clean break, they wouldn't need to straighten it or re-set it, nothing.....to just wait 2 days and then go to the Orthopedist and get the cast put on.

After waiting two days, we got an appointment on base this afternoon and went in to see him, he took one look at the X-Ray and called us into his offce.

Apparently, her outer bone which I think is called the radius, is deviated about 40 to 50%.

How the heck did the ER doctor not notice this????

So anyway, here I am, again reaching out to you all, I feel like I've been doing this a little too much lately, but I would appreciate any and all prayers for her surgery tomorrow.

I'm sure you can tell that this is the first time any of my children have had to have any kind of surgery and I'm a little apprehensive, trying to be strong for her because she's scared, but deep down I'm kind of feeling the same way, just for different reasons.

This mama is not only physically exhausted right now, but quickly becoming emotionally too.

Anyone have a rewind button??? I would like to go back a few weeks and stop certain things from happening. *sigh*

{ Hear me Croak }

woke up this morning sounding like a drunk frog, I kid you not, it's the weirdest sounding voice ever, so there will be lots of hot tea with lemon and honey throughout the day.

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all snuggly and warm and staying away from those crazy snow storms. I do envy you, you know that, it's times like these that I miss Idaho the most and can not wait to return soon.

Last night was interesting, both kids woke up a couple of times screaming and crying with bad dreams. It seems to go in spurts with them, months will pass with peaceful sleeping and then they'll both go through a week or so of on and off again "night terrors". I know they say it's normal for kids to have these, but it's very frustrating for the parent. Not because I'm being woken up every hour and getting literally no sleep, though I admit that it's draining, but because I feel helpless and there really is nothing we can do to stop these dreams, but pray.

Everytime they have a bad dream, we snuggle in bed and say a little prayer asking God to protect them and to watch over while they sleep. It does help!

I'm curious though, do any of you out there experience the same thing?

Today I have both kids home with me, after a restless night with no sleep, they are exhausted and both with sore throats, glassy eyes and runny noses. I hate this time of the year, their school is in a constant cycle of sick kids, pneumonia, bronchitis and ear infections are running rampant. So here they sit, in their pj's, snuggled under the blankets with these miserable expressions on their faces. There's plenty of chicken soup, juice and hugs to go around.

I'm thrilled to see so many of you wanting to Pray along with me for our husbands. It truly is the best gift we can give them and especially during the month of February which is all about love :)

So now tell me something. Do you celebrate Valentine's Day with your husband? Do you go out to dinner or a movie or buy each other gifts or cards? Do you make it a special day?

I'm ashamed to admit that we don't, we just never celebrate it in any special way. Sure we'll tell each other "I love you" and "Happy Valentine's Day". But as far as exchanging gifts or anything, we just don't. Tell me we're not the only ones out there?
And if we are, I guess I have to change that LOL

As much as I want to stay and chat more, I have little sick ones to take care of, so I'll leave you with this little prayer that I got off one of my devotionals, it goes with the Prayers for our Husbands.

Father God, I want You to know
that I want to be a friend to my husband.
I want to fulfill the role for which I was made.

Let my husband know that my desires for him
come
from my friendship with him and not
from wanting
to take away his freedom.

Amen

Prayers Please!

I just found out this morning that my oldest brother Paul, is in the hospital. He wasn't feeling well and is currently in ICU awaiting test results.

Please pray!

http://msp249.photobucket.com/albums/gg239/marytrue/woman_praying.jpg

UPDATE: First I want to thank you all for the prayers, you are amazing :)

My brother is home now, he is doing well. The doctors say it's nothing to do with his heart, they were afraid it may have been at first because he was complaining of not being able to breathe and pains in his chest. I think it might have been an anxiety attack.

They ran some tests and it turns out that his choleresterol and triglicerades are high and he has high blood pressure and stress. So he's been sent home with some medication and told to take it easy and try to avoid stress of any kind.

I'm SO glad that he's home safe and sound and that it's nothing serious, there is absolutely nothing worse than knowing one of your siblings is in the hospital, what a helpless horrible feeling, especially being this far.

Again I thank you all for the prayers, I'm sure it means a lot to him and my sister in law Lilian and the kids too.

You guys Rock!

I asked for prayers and you answered and by last night all of the issues going on at hubby's work were resolved. Everything is fine and we couldn't be happier.

Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart, I appreciate it more than I could ever tell you. I spent last night thanking the Lord, for this and for everything, all the blessings in my life and you, you my dear bloggy friends who are always there ready to help when needed.

I still can't give you the details, all I can say is that you know he is a Crew Chief with the F-16's which means he is a mechanic for those amazing machines. When there is any kind of problem with the said machine, there is usually a huge investigation and so forth with anyone that was anywhere near the jet. Being military it's all too easy to get into big trouble and it's the kind of thing that can ruin your career, but thankfully it's all resolved, it was just an accident and out of the airman's hands and everything is fine. Nevertheless while it is happening, it's scary and nerve wrecking not just for them but the families too.

So again, thank you for the prayers :)

Now that I can relax, I am trying to finish off a Knitted Shrug for Jasmine, then I have two to make for myself. You do know what Shrugs are right? They are so easy to knit and I absolutely love them.....they look great, they keep you warm and the possibilities are endless using different colors.

This is the one I'm making for me and Jasmine, but I'm also going to make another using longer sleeves.

This is where I'm at with it, I only need about another 4 rows and then it will be done.

Photobucket

I just don't see paying money for something that is super easy to make and quick too, I got all that done in just two hours.

Today I have to take the kids to the BX, they want to buy daddy their Christmas gift. I don't get involved at all, only money wise, because I love seeing what they come up with on their own. It's always amazing to me how their perceptions of what daddy wants or needs, is so different.

Curt will be there too, but in a different area of the store, we'll be switching kids out because they want to buy mine too. Now I know some of you may be wondering how that will work out having everyone there at the same time, but we always have the best time doing it, it's funny watching everyone running into aisles while trying to avoid running into each other. LOL

We have nothing else planned for today, I'm not feeling that good, it's that time of the month and I've also got a bit of a head cold/allergy thing going on, this time of the year is just brutal isn't it?

I'll be sitting down knitting, watching "Colonial House" and "Manor House" and using up the tons of lemons that are starting to fall off the tree. I think I'll start with a Lemon Drizzle Cake then make some Lemon Curd and finally some Lemon Bars which are Curt's favorites. After the week he's had, I want to do something special for him.

Little Prayer please!

http://womenretreat-vcws-us.org/yahoo_site_admin/assets/images/prayer114.100185915_std.jpg

I'm having some issues with the birth control pill I was put on, I've been on it for a little over two weeks and I'm feeling cramps in my right leg and arm and hot flashes and just downright not feeling well.

I'm getting in contact with the doctor tomorrow to switch pills but until then I'm completely stopping this one and not taking another, Curt actually told me "NO MORE".

So please say a little prayer for me that I'm able to start feeling better and that getting off this pill does help the symptoms....with things like this there is always the thought of blood clots and all that serious stuff. I'm a worry wart, what can I say? But in the meantime it's all in the Lord's hands and I know that He will walk me through this little bumpy patch.

God Bless,

I'm off to the doctors!

That neck/shoulder muscle pain is just not going away so I'm off to the doctors this morning.

Please say a prayer that it's in fact just a pulled muscle and not something more that would require surgery or anything....last thing I need is that before my trip to Africa in a few weeks.

Will let you all know how it goes when I return.

Blessings,

UPDATE: I just got back from the doctors, it is indeed a muscle sprain so he prescribed muscle relaxants and pain medication for it. He also told me to go out and buy a heating pad and use it too. The problem is that I pulled the muscle while sleeping but then aggravated it by doing the move, then the rides at the carnival and then the wii LOL So, now it's time to heal up, he said it should take another week or so for this to completely heal up.

Thank you all for the prayers, I'm thankful that even though it's painful, it's not something that will require surgery. Now I just have to pray for a quick recovery from it so that I can enjoy my trip to Africa :)

URGENT PRAYERS NEEDED!

If you have a moment, could you please visit Brandy's blog for an urgent prayer request for a beautiful 14 year old girl.

Heavenly Father, watch with us over your child Erin, and grant that he/she may be restored to that perfect health which it is yours alone to give; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Please if you have a moment, say a prayer for Erin and ask your friends and family to do the same, we've seen what the power of prayer can do and we've witnessed many of it's miracles so let's all gather as many people as we can to pray for this family.

I feel like lately all I've done is ask for prayers.....

Have you ever had one of those months where things just seem to be happening and things coming at you from all sides???
Because that is how I am feeling this month, we've just had one thing after another happen, I'm tired and I'm sick of dealing with it all, I just want some peace and quiet for a bit. It's not that much to ask for is it???

Well the prayers this time are for my husband, he had some blood tests done a week ago and they all came back normal except for his liver function one. I have no idea what exactly it means but I'm scared and I'm worried and I don't want to bother him with it. Please send out a prayer if you can, he has to go back and see the doctor but he's not wanting to either which just frustrates me but makes me even more stressed out. Just keep him in your prayers please, it would mean the world to me to know that I'm getting some extra prayers sent our way.

Before I even go any further I just have to send my condolences and my prayers to the families of the victims of today's horrible shooting at a Virginia Campus. I've been watching it all day long and I'm shocked, I'm saddened and I'm just in total disbelief of what happened....what is going on with this world????

It's very sad to think that any individual could get to a state of mind as to take another human life with no feeling and no thought of his actions. These innocent souls who were in class and had their lives taken so drastically, it breaks my heart, it's absolutely horrid. My thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends and the rest of the campus in Virginia, this has to be so hard for them all.

Alright moving on, I've been trying to catch up on all my house cleaning, it hasn't been easy since I've been sick for the past month and only now trying to get things caught up, I'm slowly getting there though, I never thought I would be so happy doing housework but it means that I'm back to normal and THAT is what matters the most to me.

Tomorrow though I'm going to be baking, if there's one thing you're likely to find in Portuguese homes is these wonderful Portuguese Bread rolls or as we call them in Portuguese "Papo Secos"...I haven't had those in years and I'm craving some. Funny story actually, Curt fell in love with these when he was in South Africa, he just couldn't get enough of these rolls, so when I came to the states I actually brought some over with me LOL

I can't believe I travelled with a dozen bread rolls in my carry on luggage hahahahah
At least I was prepared if I got delayed anywhere waiting for my flight right???

Anyway, I'll be making some tomorrow and I'm giving you the recipe too in case you want to try them, they're soooo good you'll find yourself making them at least once a week.

I wish I had more time to chat but I have dinner dishes to do and then it's bath time for the kids etc.....I'll be back tomorrow hopefully with a post in the morning.

God Bless,
Sandra

Works for Me Wednesday!!!

It's time for another WFMW and this time I had no problem thinking up one. It's one I've been using for the past few weeks and really came across it in a sort of desperate way, trying to keep things easy and simple for me.

It has to do with Prayer and praying for others, especially our blogging friends.

When I started meeting all these wonderful people online, I wanted to pray for them, for whatever they were needing at that time, just for their well being in general, or for their specific requests. But, I was finding that I couldn't keep up, I would tell them that I would pray for them, but then go on to another blog or my home life and forget about it, or get to nighttime and struggle to remember who I was praying for that day and for what.

So I started keeping a piece of blank A4 paper, that I tape to the door of my computer armoire. Throughout the day, I jot down the names of anyone that needs a prayer said for them, that way at bed time, I take the paper down with me. No more forgetting who and what I was praying about. This is the one I started just this morning:

Another thing I do, is, when I come across a blog that is asking for a prayer in specific, I say the prayer right there and then, write their name on the paper and THEN I comment back. I have found that this way, I never forget to do it, and hey, this way I not only pray for them once but twice and what could be better than that huh??? Works for Me!!!!

If you want to join in, just go on over to Rocks in My Dryer and add your name to the list :)
