The day just got away from me!

I can't believe it is 9:30pm.  Today just flew right on by.

It started early this morning with our older pug Bella having a bit of an accident.  As she has gotten older, we've noticed that some days her back legs don't work as well as they used to, she has also started pooping sometimes inside the house, it's like she has no clue she's doing it.

She is about 12 or 13 now.  Not in any pain, she is still very alert, albeit looking very old.

This morning though, as my husband picked her up to bring her downstairs with him, she proceeded to wee all over him, and then all over the carpeted stairs and the wooden floor in the living room.

It wasn't exactly what I wanted to deal with first thing in the morning, but you know, it's one of those things that as a dog owner we have to deal with, and as she gets older I know she will have more accidents.  It's all leading up to that day when she will no longer be with us, but the thought of that is just too painful to even consider at the moment, so we go on and we help her and give her love and just do what we have to do.

Cleaning up, mopping, cleaning the stairs, deodorizing the stairs, then carpet cleaning the stairs, opening all the windows and burning some scented candles etc......all before 8am.

By the time I sat down with my cup of coffee, I was already tired.  HA!!!

I did a load of laundry, got the dishwasher unloaded and reloaded with the breakfast dishes and then had to run out to buy some Wonton Wrappers so that I could make the Chicken Egg Rolls for tonight's dinner.

Picked up my niece and nephew on the way back home, and then spent the rest of the afternoon getting school stuff taken care of, and everything ready for Monday.....our first day of school.

By the way, I've been asked before about the kind of homeschooling we do, I've mentioned it many times, but just a reminder, we do online schooling through Connections Academy.  It is homeschooling, but still following a set curriculum.  We love it, my kids and I have been doing it now for 4 years and they are thriving.

Tiffany is in 12th Grade and we need to make sure she has all her credits to graduate.  Unfortunately because of her coming from South Africa the school had to try and transfer what credits they could for her previous school's work to the equivalent of the school here.  Not an easy thing to do.

She will have 4 Math courses to get through, plus American Government, English, Personal Fitness, Physical Education etc.  One busy girl.

Jasmine is starting 10th Grade and this years she is taking English, Geometry, Physical Science, Introduction to Criminal Justice, Criminal Investigation, Japanese I and World History.
Talk about some interesting courses, she wants to be a Forensic Pathologist.  Yikes!!!

Nicholas and Colby are both starting 6th Grade so they will have the usual Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Education Technology and Art.

It is going to be one busy year, but we're all ready to get going and work hard.  Today we looked through all the courses, got the girls started on writing down some schedules and basically made sure everything is good to go.

I do want to still take some school photos, so I'll probably do that on Friday or sometime this weekend.  If I do take some, I'll share them here, of course :)

Once all the school stuff was taken care of, I immediately got started on dinner.

One of our favorite things are egg rolls, but our budget doesn't exactly allow for us to indulge in them at local Chinese restaurants, so I make them at home.  They are so good, and always enjoyed by the family.

If you want to give them a try, check out my Chicken Egg Rolls recipe.

By the time dinner was done, the dishes in the washer and the kitchen clean, it was time to take Jasmine to Tae Kwon Do.

I almost feel like I haven't taken a breath today, it's just been go, go, go from the minute my feet hit the floor.

So no, I didn't get anything fun done, I didn't have time to putter around, or crochet, or take photos or have a few moments to read or anything.  Just a flutter of a day.

Tomorrow though, I plan on taking it easy, and taking some photos.  I haven't done a Day in the Life post in a while, you know the ones where I take a photo throughout the day and then share it with you?  Think I'll do that tomorrow.  You'll get a peek at pretty much every hour of my day.

I've tried to visit some of you, haven't quite made my way to everybody but I'll do that tomorrow, for sure.

Oh goodness, I'm tired, and I think it's time for this girl to climb into her nice warm comfy bed.  I'm hoping for a better night's sleep, my rib area muscles are still bugging me and then yesterday I pulled something on my right shoulder.  I think my problem is that I pull something but don't give it a chance to heal, I just keep doing things and carrying heavy stuff etc.  I will never learn will I?

Here's hoping for a good night's sleep, no muscle pains and a quieter, slower day tomorrow.

It really is amazing how some days just fly past and you have no idea where the time went or what happened and with a start to the day like you had it isn't surprising that your day flew by! I hope that Bella is OK and that she has a better day today. xx

Well you know there is a wonderful medical school right in my area! {wink wink}

Its heartbreaking when our fur babies get older. Its not something I think about at all.

Have a blessed day! I will link up my cooking Thursday post that I did when I get home from work.

Sandra,

Have you ever tried inside-out egg rolls? I just make the filling but I use sausage or ground pork as the meat and I use shredded cabbage instead of bean sprouts. Just serve it like a casserole and it is just like an eggroll minus the wrappers. We use that pink dipping sauce served with the filling and it is really good.

I hope your Thursday is off to a better start! Those go-go-go days are so tiring. I pinned your recipe for the chicken egg rolls. We like Chinese here and go out for it a bit too often so I need recipes like that.

Hard to watch our four legged family members get older. I had one dog make to 15 and a cat that made it to 22! Seems to me the vet can help with when they lose start to lose bladder control. It's nice that your kids have cousins to do their home schooling with!
