{ Happy Homemaker Monday - 09/03/2018 }

Good morning everyone, hope you've had a wonderful Labor Day weekend.

Ours has been good, relaxing and filled with family time.  My stepmom left on Saturday night, so yesterday I took the day to just sit and relax and catch up on some much needed ME time.  Today, I have a few things to do around the house, some homeschooling with Nick and then will take some time to work on my Cosmic CAL and watch some tv.

Hope you all have a fantastic week ahead, let's see what is happening in our homes for the next few days.

The weather in my neck of the woods:
It has cooled down a bit, even though yesterday was still a bit too hot for my liking.  We are expecting a lot of rain this coming week which makes this girl very happy.

Things that make me happy:
Being a homemaker and being blessed enough to be able to stay home with my children.

Book I'm reading:
The Removes by Tatjana Soli

What's on my TV today:
Vlogs on Youtube
The Great British Bake Off
Dunkirk

On the menu for dinner:
Pork Roast with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans

On the menu this week:
I'm using up leftovers, pantry items and so on this week, like the hamburger helper which I'm not a fan of but the rest of the family seem to enjoy so much.

Monday - Pork Roast, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans
Tuesday - Hamburger Helper, Salad (using up the hamburger helper boxes in the pantry)
Wednesday - Cottage Pie, Fried Cabbage with Bacon
Thursday - Ham, Potato Casserole, Broccoli
Friday - Pork Chops in Tomato Sauce, Rice
Saturday - Homemade Pizza
Sunday -Leftovers, Snacks etc.

On my To Do List:
Homeschooling
Housework
Crocheting
Menu Planning

New Recipe I tried or want to try soon:
I found a recipe from Wagamama for their Yaki Soba, and I am hoping to give it a try either this menu plan or the next

In the craft basket:
Cosmic CAL Blanket
Yarn for a new project coming up in a week or so

Looking forward to this week:
Don't have anything specific going on, so I'm just praying for a quiet, homemaking week.  We are expecting rain all week long, so that is going to mean lots of candles, soups, bread baking and reading on the couch under a warm blanket.

Tips and Tricks:
I shared on my food blog a quick and easy tip for garlic.  I use a lot of garlic when cooking and so I'm always peeling, dicing and so on.  A few months ago I started preparing my garlic as soon as I got home from the store.  Go on over and check out the way I do it, and who knows, it may help you in your kitchen too :)

No words needed (favorite photo, yours or others):

Lesson learned the past few days:
That sometimes you think you know someone and then end up finding out that you were completey wrong.  It's hard when you have an idea of a person and they manage to completely destroy that.  But the key is to remember that sometimes our expectations are the real problem, and we need to remember that everyone is different, everyone has a different personality and way of being.  We need to accept that and not let it bother us.

On my mind:
Not really much, I am feeling quite relaxed today and I desperately needed that after the crazy busy two months I've had.

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
I really enjoy listening to Steven Furtick's sermons.  He has opened my eyes to a lot of things and has taught me so much.  One of his latest sermons was titled "The Movie in My Mind", and oh my word was that spot on.  The quote below is from that sermon, and I've linked it above for you as well, if you wish to watch it :)

Glad you had a nice visit with your stepmom and are going to take the "ME" time today to reflect. Enjoy the rain. I can't wait to go north and have rain, the dryness here is almost as bad as the humidity was in south east Texas - just in reverse LOL! Have a GREAT week my friend.
