{ A quick hello....}

I promised that I would post every day in September, and I'm determined to stick to it, so even though nothing of substance or interest happened today, I still needed to come in and say a quick hi :)

My back is feeling a little better today, but it's still very much sore and tight.  Sitting makes it worse, I don't feel the pain while seated but if I stay more than 5 or 10 minutes, when I get up to walk, it is excruciating.  It actually feels like someone has a hand on my lower back and is squeezing tight.

Because of that pain, I've taken it extremely easy today.

I still got all my chores done, but at a snail's pace and making sure to be very careful in my movements, not bending over but rather squatting down to pick things up, also not twisting my upper body to either side but rather turning the whole body in that direction, and even getting up off of bed, I didn't just up and bounce out as I always have.

I'm getting older.  Yes I'm only 44 but I certainly am starting to feel my body changing, especially when it's related to pains and aches.

My sweet husband hates seeing me in any kind of pain, and so he drove me to Walmart and bought me a Tens Unit.  It has helped SO much already, and I'm sure with continued use it will continue to help and make this pain feel much better.

After my chores were done, I lay on the bed with some pillows propped under my knees, popped on Lords and Ladles on Netflix and before I knew it, I was fast asleep.

Now, I don't take afternoon naps, I never have because they make me feel super grouchy when I wake up, but I must have been needing the rest because I just remember waking up 2 episodes later.  My word!!!

I got up, tidying a few more things around the house, finished folding a load of laundry and then made dinner.

We had some Ham steaks, mashed potatoes and green beans sauteed with olive oil, garlic and bacon.  Yum, Yum!!

I've now had my shower, am in my pajamas and am going to get the Tens Unit going for another 30 minute session while I read my book.

I know today's post is short and sweet, but it is what it is.  What matters is that so far, I'm sticking to my goal right?

Have a wonderful Sunday night, I'll be back in the morning with the Happy Homemaker Monday :)

Wow! I have chronic back pain and often use a heating pad. I'm never as productive as you are when I'm having a bad day. If this is a take-it-easy day, you'd better keep doing it until you're better.
Have a great Monday!
