Happy Homemaker Monday #22

Back to Monday we are.
I do hope you all had a relaxing and wonderful weekend.  Mine was ok, quiet, spent indoors because it is so hot outside.  Don't have much planned for this week, actually, don't have anything planned other than the usual housework and some grocery shopping for a few items on Friday, other than that, I think I'll try to catch up on my crochet and some reading :)

Don't forget that Dallas starts on the 13th, so on Wednesday on the TNT Channel.  I'm very excited for that one, makes me want to go back and start watching the old Dallas from the beginning.

Anyway, let's grab our coffee and move on to our Happy Homemaker Monday.

The weather:::
75 degrees right now at 7am.  We're supposed to get up to 104 today, I guess it's not too bad when you're used to 115/118 degrees weather, right????

On my reading pile:::
Finished quite a few on my Spring Reading List.  Picked up a few more at the library.

::  Still reading the Bible.  I've decided to not follow the whole 1 year plan because it tends to overwhelm me when I get behind in the reading, then I start feeling guilty and just want to give up.  So, I'm still following the plan but just taking my time and reading as I go.  Enjoying the book of Joshua right now :)
::  Started Finished  Love Finds you by Tricia Goyer.
::  Finishing up An Unmarked Grave for the review on Wednesday, not really enjoying this one very much.
::  Crochet books and patterns....going through a few of those looking for some cute things to make

On my TV:::

- Watching the fifth episode of  "Starlings".

- Eureka on tonight.

- True Blood started last night, but I'm just recording with the DVR and not watching until hubby gets back.  We have always watched these together and I would rather wait for him and then watch everything together :)

-  Also have on the DVR  "Hannah's Law".  Movie from the Hallmark Channel which seems right along the lines of the genre I like.  Hannah keeps the law in the wickedest city on earth:  Dodge City, Kansas....with the help of young Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday and Stagecoach driver Mary.

On the menu for this week:::
Kids and I have been enjoying easy, quick meals.

Monday -  Toasted Bacon and Egg Sanwiches, veggies
Tuesday -  Quesadillas
Wednesday - Zippy Dogs
Thursday - Breakfast for Dinner
Friday - Totino's Pizza
Saturday - Sandwich Wraps
Sunday - Tuna Salad

On my to do list:::
Two more loads of laundry, wash, dry, iron and put away.
Sweep and Mop floors
Vacuum all the bedrooms
Write a few more letters

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Still working on my thread doily.  It was so scary at first because I'm used to crocheting with yarn, but now that I have the hang of it, I'm enjoying it and it's looking pretty :)

Day 12

Summer Fun:::
We really haven't been doing much.  Last week the kids made a Father's Day banner for daddy.  It's hanging in the living room until he returns and that's when we'll celebrate.

Day 6

We've been going through their Daring Books looking for more projects to make.  I want to get some outside time in, doesn't matter what it is, maybe a game out there, or looking for nature items or something.
We're taking it very easy this summer, until my husband returns, and then we have a few day trips planned which we're all very excited about :)

Looking around the house:::
I have a few dishes soaking in the sink, waiting to go into the dishwasher.  My cup of coffee is sitting right next to me, but it's going kind of cold, I may need to reheat it or just make a new one.....I think I'll reheat it, don't want to waste.
Nicholas is up bright and early, he was up at 6am with me this morning.  He's in the living room playing a pokemon game on the Wii.  Jasmine is still fast asleep and so are the lazy pugs.

From the camera:::
I love this little girl so much, she is just a sweetheart :)

Day 12

Something fun to share:::

Not sure if you know the group NEEDTOBREATHE?
I just love them, it's my kind of music and I could listen to them all day long, just playing over and over again.  If you've never heard them, give it a try and let me know what you think :)

On my prayer list:::

As always, my husband while he's away.

All the other troops who are away from their families.  I pray for their safety, I pray for their quick return and I pray for the wives, husbands, parents and children left behind....I pray for strength for them through this time.

Bible verse, Devotional:::
In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
—Romans 6:11

Very nice! I find that I can't handle the pressure either of trying to read the whole Bible in a year and enjoy taking my time so much more better. I get annoyed when I read how people tell me that they're reading through the Bible in a certain amount of time, like the 90 day challenge. Does any of it sink in reading that fast? Hope it cools down for you some so you can enjoy some time outside! Taking my son to the doctor today...home from camping with poison ivy! :)

Happy Monday to you! I am SO envious of your crochet skills! My mother and grandmother make things all the time...I am still barely started on my baby blankie I started LAST YEAR. Gah!
Enjoy your inside time.. I'm with you...too hot to go out!

Its nice sometimes to have few plans. You can learn a lot about yourself and your family when you have time to just BE.

I love looking through my crochet books. hardly ever make anything these days.

Reading the Bible in a year chronologically, got to be too much for me. Now it's just a chapter or two or what I can read each night without falling asleep.

P.S. thank you for fixing it so name/url could post comments *wink*

I've been praying for your husband and you and the kids while he's been gone.

Hope you all are doing ok.

Sandra, I enjoyed playing along today. Good job with the crocheting! I love to crochet with thread because it is sooo inexpensive! I can make lovely gifts for practically nothing--just my time but I enjoy it! Have a great week:)
