{ Blog 365 #65 - Happy Homemaker Monday - 03/06/2023 }

Good morning everyone, and a very happy Monday to you all.

I am coming to you this morning, so tired, and sore, from a busy weekend with a ton of yard work, clean up, mowing, and chicken coop building.  It's rewarding and a blessing, but definitely exhausting, both Curt and I are sore and could have used one more weekend day.  But, that is not possible, so we are going to push through and just get this day going.

I hope you're all doing well.

Let's get going with our Happy Homemaker Monday, shall we?

The Weather:::
It's been a bit up and down, rain, high temps, back to low.  I think it's everywhere and not just here in Texas.  We are looking at a week of high temps, but also rain, which I am grateful for and not complaining about because last year we ended up in a drought, that killed all our vegetation.  It's wonderful to see everything looking so green already.

Monday - Sunshine and clouds, 81
Tuesday - PM Thunderstorms, 74
Wednesday - Cloudy, 56
Thursday - Scattered Thunderstorms, 73
Friday - Partly cloudy, 62
Saturday - Partly cloudy, 84
Sunday - Partly cloudy, 61

As I look outside my window:::

From my bedroom I can see my backyard.  Half of it is mowed the other half not yet, I need to do that today.  I see all my fruit trees with green shoots and blossoms.  Love it.

Right now I am:::
Sitting on my bed, just finished my cup of coffee, and working on this post.

Thinking and pondering:::
About the next 2 months.  Jasmine starts her new job today, and will be needing my car every day from 8 to 430.  She wants to buy her own car, but obviously is waiting to start getting paid so that she can do that.  Until then, I am kind of out of a vehicle, unless I have an appointment or groceries, in which case I'll drive her into work and pick her up.

It will be a big change for 2 months, while she's in training, but it's a new journey and we will just go with the flow.

On my bedside table:::
My phone, tv remote and water bottle.

On my tv today:::
On Thursday nights, we watch the new Season of Star Trek Picard.

During the day I just pop on whatever catches my eye.  I've been watching my Portuguese soaps lately, so catching up on those as well as I have a moment.

Listening to:::
The birds chirping outside, and the turtle tank filter in the office.

On the lunch plate:::
Tuna salad.

On the dinner plate:::
For dinner tonight, Granny's Winter Dinner, Salad.

On the menu for this week:::

Monday - Granny's Winter Dinner, Salad
Tuesday - Stuffed Cubed Steak, Rice
Wednesday - Baked Chicken, Garlic Butter Spaghetti, Broccoli
Thursday - Hamburger Biscuit Pie, Mixed Veggies
Friday - Maple Sausage Spaghetti, Salad, Garlic Bread
Saturday - Bacon Cheddar Hamburgers, Potato Salad
Sunday - Chicken Cacciatore, Egg noodles, Sauteed Greens

On my reading pile:::
Longbourn by Jo Baker.
Bible
A prairie Girl's Faith by Stephen W. Hines

On my to do list:::
Kitchen - wash breakfast dishes, put away clean dishes in rack.
Dining room -  Wash windows
Living room - Wash windows, vacuum

Plans for this week:::
Blogging, updating food blog.
finish mowing, and weed eating
Start seeds.
Clean the house, laundry, etc.

What I am creating:::
Still haven't had a chance to start my embroidery project.  Hoping it's this week.

My simple pleasure:::
Yard work.  It's a lot, and it's tiring, and for me who has allergies, it can be frustrating, but there's nothing like pottering around out there and getting the yard looking good.

Looking around the house:::
It is quiet.  Jasmine is up and getting ready for her first day of work, which is actually online today.  Kaia and Elliott are sleeping on the bed next to me.  The house is clean and tidy, because I got that done yesterday, so not much to do today, which is perfect.  I am too tired and sore to do anything  Hahahah

From the camera:::
Meal planning.  Some people hate it, some people love it.  I happen to love sitting down with my cookbooks to look through the recipes, and jot down new ones to try.

Bible verse, Devotional:::
Today's bible verse is from Youversion Bible.

You are so right about the weather - it's chaos EVERYWHERE! It truly has been such a strange year! We still have snow with more to come at a time of year when I'm usually preparing my garden beds and starting to plant my spring seeds. But, I'll take this over drought any day!

I hope you get some rest and feel better. Yard work can take so much out of you. I'm loving your BLOG 365 even though I have been so busy I can barely think some days and have had to resort to using pictures and inspirations to get my thoughts across. It also makes me realize how quickly this year is going by already!!! 65 days down and 300 to go :D

There is just something so soothing about being outside doing things in the yard isn't there? We did a bunch yesterday as well. Love to see the green everywhere as well. Hope you have a wonderful week!

I wish we could work outside. We have gotten too much rain, so getting the garden ready is not happening. We are not even that warm here yet. Have a great week!
